Hoshigami (Shaolin's Star-Gods)

Shugogetten Shaolin
Shugogetten Shaolin, also called Shao, was the first goddess to appear on the show
"Mamotte Shugogetten". She is a spirit of the Moon and her destiny is to protect the
person who releases her from the shitenrin. She is a goddess from a heaven around the
moon and has been in the shitenrin for 4000 years. She doesn't understand the things
happening around her because of her isolation from the modern world. Sometimes she gives
cute names to foods she's never had before. With the shitenrin, an object that is shaped
like a wheel, she can call forth the help of little spirits called Hoshigami AKA star-gods
who each have special powers. Shao chants "Lailai" then the Hoshigami's name to call for
their help. Shao is a sensitive, shy and naive character. Although she does not attract
by flaunting herself like Ruuan, she still has the ability to do so. Shaolin goes to
Tasuke's school as an exchange student.

Shichiri Tasuke
Shichiri Tasuke is the lucky boy who found Shao and Ruuan. Most of the time he lives alone.
His father is in China. His sister and Nana is in Egypt and his mom is out travelling.
Tasuke received the ancient artifacts, Kokutentou and Shitenrin, from his father. Tasuke
gets upset whenever Shao or Ruuan causes trouble for him.

Keikounitten Ruuan
Keikounitten Ruuan is a spirit of the sun. Her destiny is to make the person who releases
her from the "kokutentou" happy. With the "kokutentou", a wand, she is able to bring
inanimate objects to life. She usually chants "Youtenshin Shourai" to bring the object,
called "Youtenshin", to life. Ruuan is someone who cares only for her goals. Whenever
Shao is unable to be around Tasuke, Ruuan feels she has a better opportunity to get
closer with Tasuke. She uses her beauty and charm to help get what Tasuke wants and
sometimes she'll be rubbing her self against Tasuke's shoulder, hugging him and
embarrassing him. She's a loud and demanding person. She has met Shao 1852 times,
including the time that they end up together, with that in mind she dislikes Shao because
they have had a past of being forced to fight for their masters. Ruuan decides to be
Tasuke's only sprit so she attempts to ruin Shao and Tasuke's relationship. Ruuan goes to
Tasuke's school as a teacher. Usually her subject is "Tasuke is King of the World!" Since
Shao and Ruuan go to the same school they cause chaos everyday.

Nomura Takashi
Nomura Takashi is a schoolmate of Tasuke and Koichirou. He's a guy who is rejected by many
girls. He immediately falls in love with Shao at first sight. Every time he sees Shao he
attempts to impress her.

Endou Koichirou
Endou Koichirou is a schoolmate of Tasuke and Takashi. When he first meets Ruuan he falls
in love with her. If he is ever asked to do anything by her he will wait on her hand and
foot.

Yamanobe Shouko
Yamanobe Shouko is a student at Tasuke's school. She has a reputation of being a
delinquent, a gang leader, a thief and a troublemaker. She rarely went to school until
Shao was part of her class. She becomes Shao's friend when they first met. Shouko teaches
her the things she doesn't understand.

Miyauchi Izumo
Miyauchi Izumo is a 20-year-old guy who is a priest at the Miyauchi Shrine. He has a
reputation for being a player, famous for hitting on girls, falling in love easily and
treating girls as objects of his collection. Tennis is he's greatest talent.

Aihara Kaori
Aihara Kaori is a student at Tasuke's school who has a huge crush on him. She is very
competitive against any girl wanting to be near Tasuke.
