Medicaid/Malpractice Petitions 

These are two separate petitions.

1. The Medicaid petition is so that mothers still with the fathers (if they are low income) can still quality to receive Medicaid. I have been told over and over if you were single you would qualify, to me this just isn't right. Also when my husband got laid off of work they took us off Medicaid saying that we could not get both unemployment and Medicaid at the same time. They said it was two different types of Welfare. People shutter at the word "welfare" but in all honestly I shutter at the fact that if you cannot afford Medical care you are forced to go without because you are married or are receiving unemployment due to a business closing it's doors.

2. The petition for Malpractice is so that there is no limitation on when you can make a doctor responsible for their actions. I had my tubes tied in 1996.  I did not find out they were tied wrong (to my ovary) until 1997. Well by the time I contacted a lawyer and they took 3 to 4 months to read it, then with (the doctors insurance) running a 4 month investigation and all the legal stuff you have to go through bingo my time was up. See they don't go from when you find out something is wrong, they go from the date you had the ordinal surgery.
