How To: Downloading 3DS Objects
how to download and unzip .3ds files

.Downloading .3DS Files
To download a .3ds file click on the link below the image.  This should redirect you to another link.  Click this link to start downloading the file.  Some kind of box will pop up (it is different on different computers).  Choose a location to download the File to and click on the Save button.  If clicking the link doesn't work try the following.  For Netscape: hold down the Shift Button while clicking on the link.  For Internet Explorer: hold down the Ctrl Button while clicking on the link.  Some of these .3DS files are very small and may download in a second.  If you aren't sure if it downloaded, just look for the file in the folder that you chose to save it in.

.Unzipping Files
Files on the internet are often Zipped (the .3ds files on this website are all zipped).  Zip files are files that have been compressed to save space so that they will download quicker.  To unzip a file you need to have WinZip, PKZip, or some other zip program.  Versions of WinZip and PKZip can be downloaded for free from the links above.  Download and install the zip program as directed.  Then double click on the .3ds file that is zipped to open it in the zip program.  Uncompress the file (see the help menu in the zip program if you aren't sure how to uncompress the file)  Usually there is a bottom that says "extract", "unzip", or "uncompress".  The file is now ready to be opened in FloorPlan.  Inserting objects in FloorPlan.
