Intermediate Compositions leading to Chandler's 23 Spliced

These are 8 compositions which make up a series that leads from 6 to 19 methods, before the 23 itself. Two new methods are introduced at each step. I started off with the 6 most standard methods. Other methods are added in pairs which were chosen at random from the methods remaining. In keeping with Chandler's composition, each composition begins with Huddersfield. Apart from that I have made no attempt to follow Chandler's composition.

The compositions try to reach a compromise between various criteria, in the following order of priority:

• 8 and 7 never course the wrong way round. This does not eliminate all 87's at backstroke due to the nature of the methods.
• No bobs in 8ths place methods (except mx methods sometimes).
• No more than 1 course difference in amount of each method rung.
• A reasonable number of cru's. (Over 30 is quite good for a 7 part).
• Minimum number of bobs.
• Maximum changes of method.
