Atari started the console gaming scene in the late 70's with the Atari 2600. The Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 7800, and the Atari Lynx are all emulated.

Coleco Vision rivaled the Atari 2600. Coleco had excelent graphics for the early 80's. Much better graphics than the Atari 2600.

Intellivision competed with the Atari 2600 in the early 80's. It had a 16 bit microprocessor.

In the late 80's NEC relesed Turbo Graphx 16. It had much better graphics than the Nintendo. The Turbo Graphx 16 was the first console to support 16 bit graphics.

After the home gaming scene slowed down in the mid-80's Nintendo was the first to speed it back up releasing the Nintendo Entertainment System. The Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Gameboy, and Nintendo 64 are all emulated.

In the late 80's Sega came on to the home gaming scene with the 8 bit Sega Master System. Sega is most popular for their Sega Genesis. The Sega Master System, Genesis, and Game Gear are all emulated.

In 1990 SNK brought a very powerfull 16 bit console on the home gaming scene called NEO*GEO.

In 1994 Sony introduced the Playstation. The Playstation is currently the most popular home gaming system.
