Mysterious visions besieged the lands on the 222nd day of 365 VoL, leaving Bards far and wide puzzled at their meaning. Oddly, the visions seemed to plague the guildleaders more heavily than others, leaving them shaken and unable to answer those around them for over an hour. When the visions faded, a scholarly Kaldaran stranger arrived at Silvyrfrost's door, speaking of a new ability he sought students for. Though shaken, the Bard Guildleader still had her wits about her, and explained to the stranger that she already knew of the ability he spoke. Hearing that she knew of it and would be willing to teach her own students by herself, he departed.
She did make mention to the Bards there that for a limited time she would only be able to teach those with Estate Papers, due to the Estate Council's decree.
But what did ability did they speak of? Ask your guildleaders about ABILITIES to find out.
[177 Uthmor, 365 VoL]Rumors abound of a merchant who has returned home to the forests of Leth Deriel after a sojourn to the many islands. Brought back with him are the fruits of his travels, as well as some wares of his own and a special selection for those dedicated to the Bardic arts. An islander colleague has also joined the forest-loving Bard on his trek home, and invites those who visit his shop to peruse her own wares during her stay.
Several books I commisioned long ago are now available to be read in your Crossing Guild library. Enjoy!
The Bard Guildleader Silvyrfrost
It has come to my attention that a parchment has been recovered bearing an odd riddle that seems to pertain to your Guild in some way. True to his scholarly roots, one of your Guildleaders has now gained possession of the parchment and put it in a place where all Bards are free to read it and wonder at its meaning on their own. Where the parchment came from, I am as yet uncertain, but perhaps some of your fellow Guild members may tell you what they know.
By my hand,
Tsinafos Linitis, Scholar
The cool autumn winds that swept over Crossing on the 293rd day brought more with them than a few scattered leaves and the hint of snow in the air. A scholar, Tsinafos by name, was found at the doors of the Bardic Guild. Witnesses say that he spoke of seeking a library beneath the guildhouse, and seemed adamant about gaining entrance. Finally, a pair of Bards (Shavay and Faersong) escorted him inside, but he emerged only minutes later, crestfallen with the ashes of a decaying book clinging to his hands. Some say that a figure in the shadows was heard eavesdroping upon the scholar as he spoke to the Bards that accompanied him, but no evidence was found of the presence. Soon after, the scholar bid his escort farewell and departed for the docks, likely on his journey home once again.
Recently sighted once again in the Crossing Bard Guild was the Seamstress Silynsa Alianasar, a wandering tailor in search of the perfect ware with which to open a store. In the past she has visited the Crossing Bard Guild with intricately embroidered patches and stamped buttons, telling them that since Bards travel far and seem to truly appreciate colorful clothing, that they seem the best ones for her to test her wares upon. She mentioned to visiting Bards during her last trip that she wished to come back another time and see how they enjoyed her most recent ware, silk ribbons sewn with a variety of patterns. Who knows what Silynsa will bring by next?
[11/24/2k] After weeks of arduous travel, Lorethew Faesali Trenistlin has finally arrived in the city of Crossing. She has informed the Crossing Bard Guildleader, Silvyrfrost, that she has songbooks for sale and will be available to sell them to the general Bardic public after a short Estate Holder preview. Bards above their fifth circle of training are encouraged to come and peruse the different songbooks, especially those who carry documents vouching for free use of her services. Lorethew Trenistlin regrets to say that she will only be offering her services at stitching and dying songbooks to those who possess such parchments.
While in Estate Holder preview, Lorethew Trenistlin's tent can be found in the sea caves of Peri'el.
[245 Moliko, 362 VoL] After a very heated exchange between builders and the Guild Leader Silvyrfrost regarding the (possibly overinflated?) bill, an archway was opened in the performance hall to the new rooms added to the Guild. Eyewitnesses claim to have overheard the workmen mention something about 'uncovering a basement' to the Guild while working on the new second story.
Several Bards in the Province of Zoluren have reported being captured and pressured to sing for Sorrow (to further some plan of his perhaps?). Bards from all around are passing the word to each other about the events surrounding the captures, keep spreading the news and be wary of the dark forces that abound.
Tryllm Broone, a craftsman of musical instruments, was sighted several times over the course of the month prior to the unnatural Blizzard of the year 360 VoL. Sources say he spoke of harvesting some of the fine woods from the lush forests of Leth Deriel for instruments he was preparing to create. It is unknown if he was able to aquire all he needed for his stock before the storm took hold.
The merchant Chofupi Tibvaov has set up shop in the town of Riverhaven, selling Bardic supplies, necessities, and some special items for Bards only. The Tibvaov family's trek from the Prydaen homeland to Riverhaven was long and arduous, but with the help of the CaravanMaster Maoural, the shop was able to open finally...much to the delight of the Guild.
Gnome workers have been sighted in the Crossing Bard Guild, setting up preliminary work for the building expansion. Just a kindly reminder - please don't feed the Gnomes.
