06/20/2002 Hoome Page Notes:
Just a heads up to ya'll, since it's been quite a bit since I've done anything with this place, I'll be relocating from this free host to a pay host in the next few weeks. In that time I'm planning on cleaning this site up and making it a little more useful for me - I'll post the new url when it's live. --Hoome
10/28/2001 Design-An-Instrument Contest Winners!
Sorry for the delay in judging the contest, with everything that's been going on lately we got a wee bit backlogged -- You'll find the results posted under the Contest link to your left - Congrats!
9/21/2001 - How you can help in NYC (and beyond):
Today's entry is to call attention to a link I've added for
Helping.org which has direct info on how to donate or volunteer to help in NYC (follow the link on their site to
New York Cares). There are also links and numbers there to help in reconnecting with friends and family who are missing, links to info on how to cope, and links to resources to help parents and teachers discuss these events with children.
8/31/2001 - Bard Guild Meeting (Take two!)
Heya Folks! We're planning another Guild-wide Bard Meeting scheduled for Saturday, September 1st, 9pm EST. This is a follow-up meeting from June's full Guild meeting, and will only be open to Bards. Plan for a decent length of time for announcements and Q&A, nowhere near as long a marathon as last time.
Meeting portals will be available at:
--> The Strand (southwest of the bank) in Crossing
--> Just outside the gates of Thereborough town
--> Langenfirth, north of the Waldroth's Landing
--> The Town Square in Riverhaven
--> The center of Leth Deriel
--> Just outside the east gate of Shard
--> At the docks of Ratha
--> The garden of Carillion on Mer'Kresh
--> The Faenella Prayer Gate in Aesry Surlaenis'a
Since there was some trouble with the portals at the last meeting, we'll run around at least 10 minutes before the meeting starts and make sure that all the portals are showing up properly. In other words, if you can't find it, keep looking!
8/29/2001 - Survey Time!
We've placed a small survey at the DragonRealms Message Boards, The Bards' Conservatory Topic, the Suggestions for Guild Improvement folder, post # 221. If you're interested in Bardic quests at all, please take a moment to read that post and respond either in that folder or to DR-DERYKA@PLAY.NET. Thanks, those folks who have already responded!
8/18/2001 - Meeting Question List is Opened!
The MEETING verb is now open to take pre-meeting questions for the Guild-Wide Bard Meeting scheduled for Saturday, September 1st at 9pm EST in DragonRealms Prime. Please see MEETING INFO 3 for more information about the meeting. Any questions that you have regarding the use of this verb or any problems with it should be posted in the Bard-Related Events folder.
At player request, you should now be able to see the question you have entered when checking MEETING INFO, should you have already entered one on your account. Enjoy!
8/18/2001 - Several things:
I've made a post in the "Guild Guru Announcements" folder regarding Bard circle requirements, and am looking for feedback to be posted in the "Questions and Answers on Guild Requirements" folder. I'm putting this stuff out there so we can chew this over and also so you can ask or voice your thoughts at the meeting. The lovely Deryka will be opening the MEETING verb for you today as well. [Check in-game NEWS for specifics on usage for the MEETING verb].
Regards,
--Hoome
8/13/2001 - Vocal Changes:
The temporary experience boost to SING, CHANT, and CHORUS is in place, and we even scaled it a little bit so as you get somewhat older you learn more than if you were fresh out of Singing 101. This fix is in there until we get a real performance system worked out.
As always, any bugs or problems with this change should be put in the appropriate folders or BUGged while in-game. Enjoy!
PS - We added another little something to them too, but we'll let you figure that out on your own. :)
8/3/2001 - Bardic Titles
The guildleaders have gathered and pooled their resources, discussing the status of the Guild and those who dwell within it. Through their efforts they have managed to devise a new set of titles that each guildmember may wear upon attaining increasingly higher circles, to designate their heritage bequeathed to them by their Guild. These titles will become available to the Bards of Elanthia this afternoon.
It was decided that additional titles, those chosen to designate expertise in certain areas of the guild, among others, will be bequeathed in other ways that have not yet been disclosed to the bardic public. Check those titles that are currently available to you to learn more.
[Any questions about this change should be directed to the DragonRealms Message Boards, The Bards' Conservatory, Titles folder. Please do not Assist or Report about any changes made to your available titles.]
7/7/2001 - Bard Guild Meeting (Take two!)
Heya Folks! We're planning another Guild-wide Bard Meeting scheduled for Saturday, September 1st, 9pm EST. This is a follow-up meeting from June's full Guild meeting, and will only be open to Bards. Plan for a decent length of time for announcements and Q&A, nowhere near as long a marathon as last time!
The MEETING verb will be open from two weeks before the meeting until two days before it, to allow you to enter in pre-meeting questions. If you have any trouble using this verb at all, feel free to drop a post by the DragonRealms Message Boards, The Bards' Conservatory topic, the Bard-Related Events folder. If you end up mis-entering your question, check back in a day or two to enter it again, because we'll be deleting those entries that mis-entered.
Mark that date on your calenders!
7/6/2001 - A New Twist?
For those of you who have followed the bread crumbs to discover a not so openly discussed ability, you might want to retrace that trail and talk to that contact again. Seems like that contact may have something new to talk about. [Note: This ability was in Estate Preview, but is now open to all who have the skill]
6/29/2001 - Design an Instrument Contest!
Check out the CONTEST link to the left for the current Contest Rules and Info!
6/2/2001 - BARD GUILD MEETING:
[UPDATE: Some of your questions for the meeting have been entered incorrectly, and so were deleted. (Those entries that read only '3' for example.) If you had incorrectly stated your meeting question, try back later to see if you are able to replace it with a new one.]
A full Bard Guild meeting has been planned for the evening of June 29th, at 9pm EST. Please utilize the MEETING verb to let us know your questions ahead of time, so we'll be able to give you well-informed answers instead of vague ones on-the-spot. (Keep in mind that you only get to enter one question per person!) Portals will be available from every major city and island for Bards to travel to this meeting, and going through the same portal will allow you to return to your previous location. This meeting will only be open to Bards.
Bring caffiene, this is going to be a long one. For questions about this meeting, please direct them to the DragonRealms Bulletin Boards, The Bards' Conservatory, Responses to Guild Guru Announcements.
5/22/2001 - VOICE THROW!
The technique of throwing one's voice is now live to all Bards! Questions about the ability itself (not the quest!) can be posted to the DragonRealms Message Boards, The Bard's Conservatory, Bardic Special Abilities. Keep in mind that only those with a certain amount of skill will be able to gain this ability. Enjoy!
5/16/2001 - VOICE THROW!
The technique of throwing one's voice is now able to be previewed by Estate Holders of a certain amount of skill! To learn more about how to obtain this ability, speak with your fellow guildmembers who have already obtained it or post to the DragonRealms Message Boards, The Bard's Conservatory, Bardic Special Abilities. After one week, all Bards will be able to use this ability provided that they have sufficient skill. Enjoy!
4/18/2001 - Bardic Whistling changes:
As of several moments ago, all races are now able to WHISTLE in a Bardic manner, if they have enough skill to do so. My apologies for this taking so long -- when the special Bard whistling was released, I was trying to stay consistent with the original design of the races. As some of you pointed out, there are other areas that are not quite as consistent.
With this information, I took this back to the race champion GM's requesting that I just let all Bards whistle in a Bardic manner, regardless of race. Fortunately, they agreed, and the changes are in.
Enjoy!
