The National Hypoglycemia Association is a non-profit organization that distributes literature, provides information and support services to hypoglycemics, their families and the general public. The Association also makes medical, psychological, and nutritional referrals.

The Hypoglycemia Association is a nonprofit educational organization established in 1967 to help hypoglycemics understand and control their symptoms. The Association has combined monthly meetings with the Well Mind Association, which include discussions and speakers from medical and related fields. In addition, the Association publishes informative bulletins and additional literature for physicians, patients, and the public.
The Association publishes materials on hypoglycemia, its symptoms, causes, and treatment. Serial publication: Bulletin, quarterly--treatments, diets, and related news. The HAI proposes a diet which consists of adequate protein and restricted carbohydrate intake.

HELP-Institute For Body Chemistry was founded in 1979 and serves to promote public awareness of body chemistry problems within the context of general health. NOTE: Dec. 1995 I was contacted by the son of Mrs. Elaine Arnstein, president of the Tintera Memorial Group for the past 31 years, to inform me with deepest regret that his mother passed away Oct. 1995 because of a heart attack. The Dr. John W. Tintera Memorial Hypoglycemia Lay Group, founded in 1964, is a voluntary organization founded by laypersons who have been helped after suffering physical, emotional, and mental stress due to hypoglycemia or low blood sugar. The purposes of the group are to disseminate helpful information to the public, to encourage more activity by the medical professions in this field, and to disseminate research results. The group publishes information on hypoglycemia and shares the experiences of members without offering medical advice.
The Group distributes several leaflets and fact sheets on hypoglycemia
and related information on recommended diets and recipes. Serial
publication: Newsletter, published once every three months, 12
pages each--articles on current research on hypoglycemia and how
to cope with the disorder.

In 1953, the Joslin Diabetes Center was established to promote diabetes research, educate patients and teach professional personnel, and maintain summer camps for diabetic children. The Center's activities were expanded to include the care of patients formerly provided by the Joslin Clinic. The Joslin Clinic, a division of the Joslin Diabetes Center, provides treatment; the Elliott P. Joslin Research Laboratory does basic and clinical research and serves as a training center for other physician-investigators in diabetes research; and the Youth Division provides comprehensive care to ensure the full development of young people with diabetes and provides a summer camp program.
The Center publishes a variety of materials, including brochures
containing basic information about diabetes, traveling with diabetes,
psychological and emotional aspects, insulin, diet and exercise,
and reactive hypoglycemia, as well as a very comprehensive manual

The Anxiety & Hypoglycemia Study Group was founded in New York City by Prof. J.H. Levitt of Pratt Institute (Brooklyn, N.Y.) in 1994. The purpose of the group is to help people learn about the most common causes of biochemical imbalance: reactive hypoglycemia, food allergy, nutritional deficiences, toxins, and infections.
Current fee is $10/lecture. Medical doctors and nurses attend
at no charge. Full-time students receive a 50% discount.

The National Diabetes Information Clearinghouse is a service of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, part of the National Institutes of Health, under the U.S. Public Health Service. The clearinghouse, established in 1978, is designed to increase knowledge and understanding about diabetes among patients and their families, health care professionals, and the public. The clearinghouse answers inquiries; develops, reviews, and distributes publications; and works closely with professional and patient organizations and government agencies to coordinate resources about diabetes.
The clearinghouse distributes a variety of diabetes-related materials to the public and to health professionals, including a literature search listing publications and articles about hypoglycaemia in diabetes.
Publications produced by the clearinghouse are reviewed carefully for scientific accuracy, content, and readability. Materials produced by other sources are also reviewed for scientific accuracy and are used, along with clearinghouse publications, to answer requests.
