QNN was started by Ahmed in November 20 1999 becase he found a need for a QBasic news only site that would be a central place for QB programmers to find out what was happening. There was a similiar site, QBasic/Quickbasic News, but this site, which was constatnly at the top of the QBasic Top 50 and the Future Software referral program, was updated about every other week. So, deciding that the time was right, he set this up.

Our strong point has always been contributions. We will gladly receive news submissions, will have upto date site reviews, and our active QB site update list is a great way for the casual or the experienced surfer to know which sites have been updated.

On the topic of personal things, this was actually my third QBasic site. I did put in a lot of time trying to make the perfect layout and, in roder to service text browsers and slower connections, took out frames and kept the graphics at a minimum so that the actual content would be the main focus.
