Process
IONIX LLC will generally use MPEG-1 compression, which fits about an hour of video at
29.97 frames per second and stereo sound onto a standard CD-ROM disk. This results in
overall good results, even with fast motion scenes and stringent high quality sound
requirements. The resulting file will typically be on the CD with filename VIDEO.MPG,
ready to be double-clicked from a Windows Explorer screen, if MPEG player software (such
as the free Windows Media Player) has been properly installed. Additional details are
shipped with the CD-ROM.
For video material with slower movement, such as lectures or employee de-briefing,
fewer frames per second may be requested with longer play times per CD.
For video material where improved picture quality is desired, and where playback will
be only on faster computers, we will soon be beta testing an MPEG-4 process.
