PLD is a Polish Linux distribution. It features support for both English and Polish, and is coordinated in Poland. PLD strives for compliance with the Unix98 standard, the FHS 2 standard, and the Single Unix Specification v2 standard. It's also compliant with IPv6, the new version of the Internet protocol set to be rolled out sometime in the future.

KURT (The KU Real-Time Linux) is a kernel port that allows for explicit scheduling of any real-time events. This makes adding new events simple. KURT also supports 2 modes: a normal mode, where the kernel acts like a standard Linux kernel, and real-time mode, where everything that's not a real-time event or process is shut out.

Linux-SRT is an extension to the kernel that improves on how realtime applcations are run. The big difference between Linux-SRT and other realtime extensions is Linux-SRT's ability to assign a desired Quality of Service value to each application. This allows you to give certain tasks specific priorities and CPU time over other apps. Linux-SRT also includes a copy of XFree86 with a patch that lets X proiritize graphical applications the same way they're done at the console.

It's scalable down to .5MB, does not require a console or a disk, and features support for high-integration CPUs and peripherals., Hard Hat Linux sports a full set of network protocols, including TCP/IP (and things that make use of them), AppleTalk, IPX, and telephony protocols. It also features a wide array of APIs, including standard Unix APIs (POSIX, System VR4, and BSD), as well as windowign APIs (X and MicroWindows), along with the standard Linux kernel interfaces.

QLinux is a kernel port that provides quality-of-service guarentees. It features a Hierarchical Start Time Fair Queuing (H-SFQ) CPU scheduler and network packet scheduler, a lazy reciever processing (LRP) network subsystem, and the Cello disk scheduling algorithm (which isn't stable as of yet). QLinux is focuesd on use in multimedia enviroments.

Trustix is a Linux distribution focused on delivering a server-ready solution that is trimmed and secure. It forgoes packages that aren't absolutely needed, such as X. The distribution also leaves out packages that have a history of insecurity, such as sendmail and wu-ftpd. Trustix Secure Linux also installs with defaults that are known secure: for example, it doesn't come with all sorts of daemons and services running.
