Category: Special Purpose Distribution
Last Updated: Jul 20 2000 - Platform: Intel ix86
Previous Version: 3.04 - Changelog site: None
Linux-SRT is an extension to the kernel that improves on how realtime applications are run. The big difference between Linux-SRT and other realtime extensions is Linux-SRT's ability to assign a desired Quality of Service value to each application. This allows you to give certain tasks specific prorities and CPU time over other apps. Linux-SRT also includes a copy of XFree86 with a patch that lets X prioritize graphical applications the same way they're done at the console as well.
