DREAMS

I stand here now in this time.
I walk here now on land that is changed and not the same as it is in
my  dreams.
The sky above is not the blue it once was,
It is not as filled with my winged relations as in my distant past.
Even the Eagle's song is different now, it's not the same as the wild
Cry of power and freedom as it was in the days when my ancestors danced.
Even though these things have changed, some things remain.
The way a heart beats to the sound of a drum, and the quickening of
One's blood as ancient songs are sung.
And fire remains unchanged, it is still a piece of the sun. The
Raiment or robe of creation, the one fire from which we all come.
And the way a man's heart feels both joy and pain when he sees the one
He loves as she gathers sage and flowers.
The way she touches the earth with a mothers gentle love.
And songs that's sung with words of a timeless tongue,
Understood as a universal hum.
And I come to understand that nothing is left undone.
