The NegaVerse's purpose was to steal energy from humans and
restore their governor Queen
Mettallia. They also wanted to find the silver crystal, which would
also give power to the Queen.
They existed in the very first season, and were lead by Queen Beryl.
The Negaforce
In the dub version of Sailor Moon, Queen Mettallia was portrayed
as simply The Negaforce.
Throughout the first season she commends or condemns members of the
NegaVerse, and near the
end she tried to rejuvenate Queen Beryl with her power. Alas, it
failed and she was destroyed with
Beryl.
In North America, Queen Mettallia's voice is done by Maria
Vacratsis.
Queen Beryl
Queen Beryl was in charge of the Nega Verse. She directed her
four generals, Jedeite, Nephlyte,
Zoisite, and Malachite . She also fell in love with Prince Darien,
and was extremely jealous of
Princess Serena. Beryl was destroyed when Princess Serena joined the
power of the imporium
silver crystal and the Sailor Scouts.
In North America, Queen Beryl's voice is done by Naz Edwards.
Jedeite
Jadeite was the first of Beryl's four generals. His main purpose
was to steal energy from large
amounts of humans, using a monster to steal it. Sailor Moon,
Mercury, and Mars stopped all his
attempts, and he became very determined to destroy them. He found
out their identities in the
process, but failed, so Queen Beryl killed him before he could
reveal their identities.
In North America, Jedeite's voice is done by Tony Daniels, who
also played Wiseman in Sailor
Moon R.
Nephlyte
Nephlyte was the second of Beryl's generals. His main purpose was
to steal energy from one
specific person, using a monster that stole the persons energy when
they'd reached their maximum
energy peak. He fell out of favor of Queen Beryl when the Scouts
defeated his monsters, and later
on fell in love with Molly. But Zoisite killed him because she
wanted to be Queen Beryl's main
general.
In North America, Nephlyte's voice is done by Kevin Lund.
Zoisite
Zoisite was the third of Beryl's generals. In the original
version Zoisite was a man, but in the dub
he was changed to a woman (since he was in love with Malachite).
Zoisite's main purpose was to
steal the rainbow crystals from humans, and join them together to
create the imporium silver
crystal. She succeeded in stealing 4 crystals from humans, and later
on stole Sailor Moon's one
crystal. She also tried to steal Tuxedo Mask's 2 crystals, but was a
bit unsuccessful. She was
destroyed by Queen Beryl for trying to kill Tuxedo Mask, whom Beryl
had fallen in love with.
In North America, Zoisite's voice is done by Kirsten Bishop.
Malachite
Malachite was Beryl's fourth and most powerful general. He was in
love with Zoisite, and was very
sad when Queen Beryl destroyed her. Malachite was sent to recover
the silver imporium crystal
from Sailor Moon, and even though most of his monsters discovered
her identity, they were all
destroyed by the Sailor Scouts. Malachite was destroyed when Sailor
Moon reflected one of his
flying swords, and sent it flying back at him.
In North America, Malachite's voice is done by Dennis Akayama.
The Aliens
The Aliens were Allan and Ann, who were wandering throughout the
universe looking for life
energy to feed their Doom Tree. They existed in the first part of
Sailor Moon R, and they would
steal life energy from humans with their monsters, called cardians.
Once a cardian had delivered
energy to the Doom Tree, the Doom Tree would give its energy to
Allan and Ann. And if the
Doom Tree died, they would die.
Allan
As an alien, Allan was the more practical of the two, thinking
before acting. He would play his
reed flute to summon a cardian, and almost always let Ann pick the
cardian. The only time he
picked the cardian for himself, the cardian went crazy and started
attacking everyone (not the
people he told it to attack).
As a human, he was followed around constantly by girls for his
good looks. When he first saw
Serena, immediately fell in love with her and vowed to make her his.
In North America, Allan's voice is done by Vince Corazza (who
also plays Tuxedo Mask in later
episodes).
Ann
As an alien, Ann was the more aggressive of the two, usually
acting before thinking. She picked
the cardian for Allan most of the time.
Ann went to Serena's school as a human, and was in her class. She
went under the name Ginga
Natsumi in the Japanese version. The first time she saw Darien, she
immediately fell in love with
him, and constantly competed with Serena to win his heart. Serena
tried to become friends with
Ann also, but Ann would usually treat her like dirt (which got her
friends a bit mad). Her reason
for this was because Allan liked Serena, so Ann would get extremely
jealous (even though she
chased after Darien and made Allan jealous).
In North America, Ann's voice is done by Sabrina Grdevich (who
also plays Sailor Pluto).
The Doom Tree/Tree of Life
The Doom Tree was what Allan and Ann fed the energy they stole
to. When the Doom Tree
died, Allan and Ann would die, so they constantly fed it stolen
energy to keep it alive. But
actually, the evil energy began to hurt the Doom Tree near the end,
and this was when Allan
and Ann found out the secret of its existence...
In North America, The Doom Tree's voice is done by Liz Hannah.
The NegaMoon
The Nega Moon existed in the second part of Sailor Moon R.
In the future, the world had gone into a frozen sleep. In the
30th century, Neo-Queen Serenity
awakened the earth with her power, and created a Utopia: Crystal
Tokyo. However, in order to do
this, everyone had to be purified by Serenity's crystal. Those who
didn't want to be cleansed
rebelled, but Darien and Serenity defeated the rebellion.
Those who had refused the cleansing left Earth, and lived on the
edge of the galaxy shrouded in
darkness. The people had banded together and formed their own
civilization, becoming the Nega Moon.
To take over the earth and get revenge on Neo-Queen Serenity for the
banishing them, the Nega Moon
tried to open the Black Gate to use the Black Crystal.
Rubeus
Rubeus was in charge of capturing the rabbit (Rini) and
infiltrating crystal points that would be
important parts of Crystal Tokyo in the future. When he failed at
this, the Wiseman told him to get
rid of the Sailor Scouts with the 4 sisters.
When the 4 sisters were turned good by Sailor Moon, Rubeus was
told he was out of the plan to
conquer Crystal Tokyo. Rubeus, who couldn't believe that Prince
Diamond had abandoned him,
decided to recover his favor by finding the Silver Crystal.
Rubeus captured the 4 Scouts, and made Sailor Moon and Rini come
into his UFO to get them
back. Sailor Moon and Rubeus battled, and Reeny destroyed one of the
main energy crystals of
the ship. While the ship began to explode, Emerald appeared. Rubeus
was at first relieved that she
had come to save him, but Emerald replied that it was better to let
him die in the past then return in
shame to the future.
The Scouts combined their forces and used the Sailor Teleport
power to teleport themselves and
Rini from the exploding ship. Rubeus was destroyed as the ship blew
up.
In North America, Rubeus' voice is done by Rob Tinkler.
Avary
Avary was the second oldest sister and was equal to Sailor Venus.
She would whine a lot and
never got much done, and also fought a lot with Prisma. Avary was
very particular about what she
wore, and couldn't stand anything that wasn't brand-name. Avary
would use a whip for her attack,
and was the third to be turned good by the Sailors.
In North America, Avary's voice is done by Jennifer Griffiths.
Prisma
Prisma was equal to Sailor Jupiter, and was the oldest of the
Four Sisters. She was very aggressive
and used dark lightning as her attack, and was probably the most
powerful of the 4 sisters. She
also fought with Avary a lot.
Later it was shown she had fallen in love with Sapphire.
In North America, Prisma's voice is done by Norma Dell'Agnese.
Catsy
Catsy was equal to Sailor Mars, and was the youngest of the
sisters. She had a strong devotion for
Rubeus, and would basically do anything for him, believing one day
she would become the Queen
of Crystal Tokyo with Rubeus. She also got very angry with Sailor
Moon when Sailor Moon
messed up her face. Catsy would use dark fire for her attack, and
proved her temper could be as
bad as Sailor Mars'.
In North America, Catsy's voice is done by Alice Poon for ep.
54-60 and Mary Long (who also
played Molly) for ep. 61-82.
Birdie
Birdie was the third oldest of the Four Sisters. She was equal to
Sailor Mercury, and had a similar
personality since she was smart and used ice for her attack. She
didn't feud as much as the other
sisters did, and usually let her droids do the dirty work for her.
She was also very good at chess.
Birdie was the second to be turned good by the Sailors, and when
she was turned good she lost
that white braid on her forehead.
In North America, Birdie's voice is done by Kathy Laskey.
The Four Sisters either tried to capture the rabbit (Rini), tried
to destroy the Sailor Scouts, or tried
to infiltrate a future crystal point with negative energy. The
Sailor Scouts defeated each attempt,
and showed them what is was like to be good people.
Wiseman
The Wiseman had the ability to see the future, and was probably
the most powerful of the Black
Moon Family. For a while he guided Rubeus, but later helped the rest
of the Black Moon Family.
What he really wanted to do was to open the Black Gate, while Prince
Diamond just wanted to live
on earth.
He considered the Black Moon Family only pawns to him. He was
responsible for the deaths of
Emerald, Prince Diamond, Sapphire, and was the one who turned Rini
evil.
Wiseman succeeded in opening the Black Gate, but was destroyed by
Rini's and Neo-Queen
Serenity's silver crystal.
Emerald
Emerald took over after Rebeus' "departure." She
decided the best way to open the Black Gate
was to use a crystal figurine. In the past, there were places that
had negative energy. The figurine
would grow attached to one place and absorb the energy.
After several attempts (and failures), she returned to the future
on Prince Diamond's command,
annoyed to find Diamond obsessed with Sailor Moon, since Emerald was
in love with him.
She asked Wiseman to predict her future, and the Wiseman told her
that she would be Diamond's
queen and the master of the Dark Crystal. Wiseman created a tiara
that she placed on her head,
and the Dark energy transformed her into a dragon.
She battled the Sailor Scouts at Neo-Queen Serenity's palace.
After Tuxedo Mask scored a direct
hit at her tiara, Sailor Moon used her "Moon Scepter
Elimination" Attack, and destroyed the
dragon. For a second Emerald appeared with the tiara on, but the
tiara vanished and she fell into a
black void, calling out Diamond's name.
Prince Diamond
Prince Diamond was the ruler of the Black Moon Family. In the
future he'd tried to get Neo
Queen Serenity to be his queen, but when Serenity refused he
attacked the kingdom. He directed
all attempts to captured the rabbit (Reeny), wanting to add her to
his Black Crystal because of her
power. Later on when Sailor Moon arrived in the future, he captured
her and dressed her up as
Neo Queen Serenity. He tried to get Serena to become his queen, but
she refused.
Later, he tried to control her with his third eye, but she
snapped out of it and made him realize that
Wiseman had been manipulating him.
Wiseman appeared and released a blast at Sailor Moon, but Dimando
jumped in front and took the
blast himself. Summoning all his power, he momentarily shattered
Wiseman, and then died.
Sapphire
Sapphire was Prince Diamond's brother. He and Emerald agreed on
two things, they both loved
Prince Diamond and hated Sailor Moon. Sapphire believed that the
Wiseman was manipulating
Diamond and wanted to rip Wiseman's cape off and see what he
*really* was. When he heard
Wiseman speak of them as pawns, he escaped and tried to tell
Diamond. Wiseman attacked him
and hurt him badly.
Sapphire went into the past and Prisma took care of him. When
Sapphire left and tried to tell
Diamond again, Wiseman killed him. A bandage wrapped around his head
unwound, to reveal his
black moon insignia gone.
Wicked Lady
Wicked Lady was Rini, after being corrupted by Wiseman and grown
to an older age. Wiseman
convinced her that nobody loved her, so she should use her powers to
destroy the earth.
Later, Wicked Lady realized she was loved when Neo-Queen Serenity
showed her memories of
times her parents had cared for her. She returned to Rini's form,
and Wicked Lady was destroyed.
In North America, Wicked Lady's voice is done by Traci Hoyt (the same voice as Rini's)
