Updates

April 19, 2002 - I don't know what happened to the collective noun page, but it seems to have reverted to an earlier version without the last couple of batches of updates. Sorry! Anyway, I added a bunch of new ones that people have suggested since the last update I did.

May 8, 2001 - I'm back and better than ever. Made a few minor revisions to Chapters Five, Eight, and Nine. Also added a whole bunch of collective nouns to my list that have been submitted by visitors over the last six months or so (thanks, and I have credited you on the page for your contributions). The collective noun page continues to seem the most popular destination for visitors on my site.

October 27, 2000 - Yes, I'm still here. I added about a dozen and a half more terms that I found in a newspaper article several months ago to my collective noun list. And speaking of collective nouns, does anyone know what the collective term for seahorses is? Someone asked me that via e-mail the other day and I haven't been able to find it, if there is one. And I'm always open to new submissions or inventions.

July 6, 2000 - Finished Chapter Nine. Sorry it's been a little late in coming, but I'm working on a new version of Lashanedriel's Universe with much more information, and it's quite a bit of work.

June 11, 2000 - Added the next scene of Chapter Nine.

May 29, 2000 - Added the next two scenes of Chapter Nine and fixed some typos.

May 24, 2000 - Went to the mountains for the long weekend and managed to get a bunch of writing done: Chapter Nine is about half done. I also did a little revision to Chapter Eight. And I got removed the old versions of Michaela and Dawn of a New Age from my site altogether. They are now available by request only.

May 19, 2000 - Finished Chapter Eight and added some more to the list of changes between the two versions of Michaela. And I killed the prologue 'cuz it's unnecessary and detracts from the story.

May 17, 2000 - Hurrah, my computer is back and with any luck it will work properly now. I've added the next two scenes of Chapter Eight. Also, Thank you to Simon and Pat who both let me know what roebucks, snipe, and teal were so I could classify them in my collective noun list. I also added "a pride of ostritches," which I picked up playing Trivial Pursuit the other day.

April 15, 2000 - Added more of Chapter Eight. And I'm writing a short story about Priest Latasha as a kid that I'm planning on submitting for publication. If anyone would like to read and comment on it, give me a shout; I'd really appreciate it.

March 22, 2000 - Yeah, I know it's been ages since my last update, and I'm sorry. My computer has been on the fritz since shortly after my last update (a hardware problem, it wasn't my fault). Anyway, I added a new link to my writing links. Also, I decided to leave Chapter Seven as it was and not add any more to it, and put up the first two scenes (about 1200 words) of Chapter Eight. This chapter is turning out to be much longer than in the previous version, so I may end up splitting it into two chapters.

February 19, 2000 - Split the links page into two sections (writing and non-writing) and added a bunch more links.

February 16, 2000 - Added the next scene of Michaela, Chapter 7. Seems that the site was down for a few days over the weekend. I don't know why. But at least it's back now. Oh, and I joined another pay-to-surf program, called DesktopDollars. It's got a paybar like Alladvantage, but with no monthly hour limit, and you don't have to be using your browser to accumulate time. They just started counting "paying time" yesterday, so I haven't received money yet, but it's free, and if it works out it could be even better than Alladvantage. February 12, 2000 - Added the rest of the current scene of Michaela, Chapter 7.

February 11, 2000 - Decided that I was far enough along in the new version of Michaela that it was time to take down Version 4 of Michaela and Dawn of a New Age. However, they are still available for download from the main page of Lashanedriel's Universe. Also, I realized that I had forgotten to post the Prologue to Michaela, so I added it.

February 5, 2000 - Added a little more of Version 5, Chapter 7, moved the first scene to Chapter 6, and updated the zip file accordingly. Just to let you know, I'm working on a few more illustrations, and also on typing up a play I wrote in grade 6. They should be going up sometime in the next couple of weeks. Oh, and I got my first cheque from Alladvantage.com -- 36-odd dollars (Canadian) just for looking at banner ads while I surf! Everyone should sign up for this, it's free, it's for real, and it's great!

January 23, 2000 - Added the first few scenes of Version 5, Chapter 7, updated the zip file to include it, and fixed a few typos throughout the site.

January 14, 2000 - Well, due to unforeseen circumstances, I didn't end up getting anything done over the holiday (okay, those unforeseen circumstances involved getting Septerra Core, a highly addictive computer role-playing game, for Christmas...) but I'm finally back on track. I added the rest of Version 5, Chapter 6, though I'm not sure if I'm entirely happy with it yet, and put up an information page for Lashanedriel's Universe. I also changed the format of the main page for that section and made a few little changes here and there.

December 17, 1999 - The final exam week from hell is mercifully over and I have only one exam left (in my easiest class). Not only that, my place of employment is shutting down for three weeks as they move, so I have a real vacation! Anyway, today I added most of Version 5, Chapter 6 and updated the zip file to include it. It's not quite done: I still have two more scenes left to write, but I wanted to get it up, because I've tinkered with the page, but I haven't actually put up any new writing for a whole month. And besides, this will prompt me to finish those two scenes more quickly.

December 11, 1999 - Added a zip file of Version 5, and made a couple of minor revisions to Chapter 5 of Version 5.

December 10, 1999 - Aaack! Realized that the button images in Michaela have been broken ever since my last update two weeks ago. I feel awfully dumb. Also put up zip files of Michaela and Dawn of a New Age for those who would prefer to read these offline and not have to go "Save File As..." a million times. Now that classes are over for the term and all I have to worry about is final exams, I will be able to do a lot more writing and updating in the next month or so, hooray!

November 27, 1999 - Changed the background for Heather's Random Writings to something less distracting, and changed the button links as well.

November 25, 1999 - Added "a murder of crows" to the collective noun list (thanks, Soylent Green). I can't believe I left that one out.

November 21, 1999 - Got a scanner the other day, so I was finally able to scan in some illustrations for Lashanedriel's Universe. Also put up a guide to interpreting Immortal eye colour, and added a webring page and an "all about me" page.

November 17, 1999 - Realized I'd been neglecting Heather's Random Writings lately. So I added a poetry section with two poems, Hallowe'en and Writer's Block. Also put up the VLO National Anthem to go along with the VLO Manifesto, but it's in French, so you may not care.

November 14, 1999 - Moved my page! I left Fortunecity in favour of Prohosting to get rid of the long, stupid URL and the even more annoying huge banner ads. Also got a new guest book, as I could no longer update the old one, having forgotten my password and no longer having the e-mail address that my forgotten password would have been sent to... In addition, I have added some new items to my links page.

November 5, 1999 - Revised The History of a Universe and added another section to Lashanedriel's Universe, called Version 5. This is the version of Michaela and Dawn of a New Age that I am currently working on. While I was there, I changed the background of Lashanedriel's Universe to something that a. is prettier, b. doesn't interfere with the text, and c. is of my own creation. (Go to my links page to find out how you, too, can make pretty backgrounds and buttons.) Also added "a squabble of seagulls" to my collective noun list.

November 4, 1999 - Added a short links page.

October 27, 1999 - Added a section for the other three books of Lashanedriel's Universe. Now you can get a sneak peek at what's in the works for the rest of the series.

October 22, 1999 - Added Chapter Twelve and summaries of Chapters 11 and 14 of Dawn of a New Age to Lashanedriel's Universe. Also added The History of a Universe.

October 21, 1999 - Added more to Heather's Random Writings. Now almost done.

October 20, 1999 - Added quite a bit of Heather's Random Writings.

October 17, 1999 - Added Dawn of a New Age to Lashanedriel's Universe.

October 16, 1999 - Began uploading the new version of my site. Got most of Lashanedriel's Universe up.
