       Full couplings or coupling are used to joined pipe to pipe, or to a nipple or swage.        Reducing couplings are used to joined together pipe of two different diameters.        Reducing insert is used to connect a smaller pipe to a larger fitting.   They are available in any size reduction by boring the standard forged blanks.        Unions are installed to facilitate maintenance of a line and for installation purposes.   They allow the pipe to be disassembled by unscrewing the union.        Swaged nipples allow the joining of pipe together according to the type of connection desired.   PBE is used to join socket weld items of different sizes.   PBE stands for plain both ends.   TBE is used to join threaded items of different sizes.   TBE stands for threaded both ends.   BLExPSE is used to join a smaller socket weld item to a butt welded pipe.   BLE stands for bevel large end and PSE stands for plain small end.   BLExTSE is used to joined a smaller threaded item to a butt weld pipe.   TSE stands for threaded small end.   They are commonly referred to as a swage. |
