Safety Valves -
Valves for discharging and safety devices

Valves for discharging and safety devices.   This family of valves are designed to remove fluid from a piping system.   They may discharge to another piping system, to a drain, to the atmospher or even to a vessel operating at a lower pressure.   They are often automatic in operation.   Since a valve that works by levers and weights can easily be render inoperative by personnel most pressure relieving valves are spring loaded.
Safety Valves Safety valves are operated by system pressure and are almost always mounted directly onto either the piping or the vessel that is being protected.   It is a rapid opening or popping action for use with air or other gases.
