| Summary: | On her way to the Inn for a quiet meal, the Lady Rennar runs into Captain-General Kellian and his companion Jane. She also meets with Lord Meridon of Ghealdan for the first time. They agree to meet at a more opportune time, then the Lady enters within the Inn. Finding the room bustling with activity, she manages to run into her cousin Darayn, who's more prone to carousing than the average noble. |
StableYard: Rose and Lion Inn, Caemlyn
A wide, lightly paved path of stones leads in a small circle from the road, to the barn, to the inn. A large area in front of the barn is cleared out for those that would be leave their wagons or carriages outside. There are several places to tie lone horses, if a rider just came in.
Lamps are lighted to provide illumination during the evening hours. As the sun sets a steady stream of people can be seen entering the inn, perhaps for a meal. Stable attendants stand ready in case any may ride in, to care for the horses. A thick blanket of snow lays upon everything about the yard, as the temperature keeps the cold, wet stuff from melting. There appears to be a trodden path within the snow, from the street to the inn. A few steps lead up to a small door, opening into the large building before you which can only be the inn. A large sliding door can be seen opening up into the stables. If you follow the path, you will find yourself back on Caemlyn Road.
Inarin, Jane, Kellian
Inarin pushes through the stout wooden door of the Rose and Lion.
Kellian nods and smiles,"That is perhaps best. I wonder what the Tower would think if I were to suggest the same for myself and.." He smiles and nods when he sees Rennar, much more friendly then he was with Inarin, but still mostly polite,"Good evening, Lady Rennar."
Jane nods. "'S too much fuss, a wedding." She stops, and glances at the lady.
Meridon steps out into the stableyard, leaving The Rose and Lion.
Following the path which leads into the Rose and Lion grounds, is one of the young noble women of House Hune. More specifically, Lady Rennar. Walking behind her, about five paces, is one of the young guardsman which Mistress Cende left behind before she took her leave of Caemlyn for the Shienar blight border. The young lady pauses a moment, glancing about the stable yard just long enough to take note of who is present. She smiles faintly toward the Captain-General and the woman who stands beside him; Jane. "Good evening, Captain General," she pauses briefly, adding with a touch of uncertainty, "Mistress."
Meridon stops just outside the door, spies the people there, and stops, blinking. His eyes move to the Captain General, to the Lady, and back again. With furrowed brows he pulls his long-stemmed pipe from his mouth.
Jane nods to Rennar, cautiously. "Evening." Shifting her feet.
Kellian looks back at Rennar again,"I trust you are well this evening?" He clasps his hands behind his back and studies the young noble woman. A glance back to Jane. Reassuring her in that there is nothing to fear or be nervous at here. Then looks back at Rennar, waiting her reply.
There is a warm manner about Rennar, unusual amongst the nobles. A blush comes to her features at her interruption. "My pardon... I was only passing through." This is stated when she notices Jane's cautious demeanor. Turning, she starts to head toward the Inn once more, turning her attention this time to the man who exited the doors. A brow lifts, a slight touch of recognition coming to her features; the angered man within the streets oh so many weeks ago while she was addressing her cousins. To the side she states, 'Yes, I am well, Captain-General Versyr. Thank you for inquiring after my health."
Jane just watches, quietly, glancing at her feet, and back up again.
Meridon lifts a thumb to stroke his moustache, waiting while the red-garbed woman speaks with Kellian. He turns his head to the side, then asks, "You are the Lady Hune, yes? Rennar?"
Having never taken her attention from Meridon, Rennar delicately nods her head. The tall, dark-haired guardsman who came with her stands fast, waiting for the Lady to move into the building at her desire. "Yes, I am." Furrowing her brow a bit, she tilts her head to the side in a curious manner, "Though I cannot say that I know who you are." There is an apologetic tone to her voice. She does call off to the side to Kellian and Jane, "And how are you?" Afterall, she had not moved too far away from them.
Kellian studies this man called Meridon then, but as he does he reaches out and touches Jane's shoulder, speaking softly,"Do you feel this way around Eglantine Jane? She has a title too you know..yet I'm certain she's never once breathed fire. And neither has Lady Hune." Well, figuratively that may not be true, but to Kellian's knowledge it is. His voice is too low to carry to the others. There is a faint touch of humor in his voice.
Jane looks up at Kellian, frowning slightly. Quietly, "Never know what they'll be like."
"Mmmm." Meridon nods once. He speaks clearly, loud enough for any to hear that might wish to. "I am Meridon of House Oneatha, Ghealdan. I am pleased to meet you at last, Lady Hune."
Recognition is clearly not upon Rennar's features, having never heard of the Lord herself. Delicately, she dips her head into a nod of respect. "A pleasure to meet you, Lord Onaetha." Her voice is soft and honeyed. It is then that she chances a glance toward Kellian and Jane, perhaps ensuring that her question was heard.
Kellian nods at her,"One never knows..no matter the wealth or region a person comes from..we all are unique. Poor and wealthy. Noble and peasant." He himself has been in all those categories at one time or another in his life.
Meridon returns the nod with a formally stiff inclination of his head, and lowers his eyes to the ground. "I had meant for there to be a letter of introduction to be born to your House, but.. I'm afraid the Wheel wove events other than I had planned. Perhaps we might speak at some time?"
Jane shrugs uncomfortably, feet shifting. "You were there at the Palace. I don't want that again. I can go."
Kellian shakes his head at Jane,"You do not have to go Jane. This is not the Palace. This is the inn. And we are going to have a meal and perhaps some cider. You do like cider, do you not?" Smiling at her.
Question ignored, Rennar glances back to Meridon, regarding him in a quiet manner. She nods her head lightly at his further words with her. "We could meet another time, if that is your desire, Lord Onaetha." There is a touch of confusion within her voice. "Is this to be some sort of formal meeting, or one simply to get to know other members of House Hune?"
Jane nods, brightening slightly. "Yes." Meal? "And chicken."
"It may be some of each, Lady Hune." Meridon gestures slightly with the pipe in his hand, and the wisps of blue smoke waver and drift off on a light breeze. "I shall arrange to have another letter sent to me, and I shall give it to you myself, yes? Then we may simply "get to know" each other, and the other members of your House, but I hope there will be some time to discuss more formal matters?"
"If we arrange such a time to meet, I'll be certain to allow for matters of business, if you wish to discuss business." Rennar assures the other man, though the curiosity remains within her eyes; particularly at the "get to know' each other comment. "Ghealdan. That is a long way from home."
Kellian lifts his hand toward Jane, indicating she should wait just a moment, then raising his voice a bit as he steps forward,"Lady Rennar, Can I be of any help here? I apologize for intruding, but the arrival of a noble visitor from Ghaeldan is of great interest to myself as protector of Andor. I am Captain General Kellian Versyr of the Queen's Guard." he says to Meridon as he studies the man.
Jane nods to Kellian, and absently clasps her hands behind her back, standing straight and watching him. Too much time with Zilfrin's guards, probably.
"Mmm. Yes, though not as far as I have been, yes? Exploring the lands will finish my education, I am told, though I admit to learning precious little after the death of my Steward." Meridon lifts his eyes to red-haired man. "Captain General Versyr. We have met briefly on several occasions, in the palace. You are a busy man, yes? I assure that I pose no threat to your country, though it is a threat that brings me here. I had diverted my course from Cairhien because of the ... difficulties with Murandy, though now these two Dragons are interesting enough."
The hune guard, Hawke, standing behind Rennar shifts first, before the Lady is even able to get herself about. He regards the Captain-General in a calm, cool manner, then turns his attention back to the lady and the lord to whom she speaks. Hearing her name once more, Rennar turns her attention back to Kellian, cocking her head at an odd angle so she can keep Meridon and he both in her line of sight. "There's no interruption, Captain-General, though it is strange you have not seen Lord Onaetha as of yet. He's been about the streets of Andor for quite a few weeks, isn't that so?" With that she turns back to Meridon, but not before turning a soft smile on Jane to include her in the conversation.
Kellian nods at Rennar,"I have been busy patrolling with the troops that kept watch over the two armies that came nearly to our gates these past few weeks. And, yes, Lord Onaetha, I do recall those occasions now. I will leave you both to your..negotiations." He nods at Hawke, a direct look, respecting the man for his duty and alertness, but showing no fear or concern if Hawke should have tried to block his path. "Good evening to you both." He turns back to Jane.
Jane nods to Rennar's smile, then steps toward Kellian when he turns back. Softly, "Inside?"
Kellian nods at her,"Yes, I do believe that is an excellent plan of action, Jane."
"Of course, Captain-General." Rennar smiles faintly at Kellian, nodding her head to both he and Jane. "Have a good evening, and enjoy your meal. Perhaps we'll see one another inside. I was just about to catch a bite myself." She smirks wryly, "I believe Demonder has decided to raid the kitchen a bit too much this week, and Mistress Genette has chased us away from the House so she can take stock of what's left." Demonder has been prone to gaining a growing belly lately; talk of his imepnding pregnancy surely is about the lips of some of the nobles. Turning her head back to Meridon, she considers him further. "I am sorry to hear about your Steward. House Roesone suffered such a tradgedy recently, when Master Vocer was killed within Tar Valon."
Jane nods to Kellian, almost smiles, and heads inside. Peering around inside there, warily, before she commits herself to actually entering.
Jane pushes through the stout wooden door of the Rose and Lion.
Meridon's brows knit. "This Vocer -- he was related to the Swordswoman Vocer?"
Kellian catches some of their talk, almost slows and turns back to listen on this, but respects their privacy on the matter and moves after Jane,"I look forward to seeing you inside then, Lady Rennar." he remarks with a smile and a glance back before he moves inside.
Kellian pushes through the stout wooden door of the Rose and Lion.
Something of a smirk comes to Rennar's features. "No. Not by blood at least." Her eyes seem to harden and darken a bit. "He 'adopted' her as his daughter, I believe. But she is not a true Vocer." This issue seems to be a sour one for Rennar to address, from the wrinkled look her features now take.
"Mmm," is Meridon's reply. "I see. I have not see the swordswoman since I last saw her with the Aes Sedai of the Palace. Yes. Well, I have some other business to attend this evening, but I shall wait on your liesure and opportunity for our next encounter. Perhaps we may meet again at your manor in this city -- I've heard it is splendid."
That wry expression remains on Rennar's features. She seems on the verge of a comment, but stops herself, shaking her head quietly. "Good evening, Lord Onaetha. Light shine upon your path." There's almost a need to say that phrase, a way to perhaps push back some impending 'darkness' on Rennar's part. "I would like to speak again." She announces, stepping aside to allow Meridon an easier way to the path out. "Simply let me know when you'd like to pay Tiras Lorn a visit, and I'm sure we'll have everything arranged quite nicely."
Rennar adds further, "But I must ask that you excuse the construction surrounding the wall and gates of the manor grounds."
Meridon inclines his head in precisely the same fashion as before -- it is a trained gesture, then. "Of course, Lady Hune. May peace favor you and your House. Enjoy your meal. This inn can be .. entertaining."
And then Meridon replaces his pipe in his mouth and strides off across the stableyard, into the city.
"So I've noticed." Amusement comes to Rennar's eyes at the other Lord's comment. She, too, nods in his direction; a respectful gesture, then turns to make her way into the Inn proper.
Meridon walks down the path, re-entering Caemlyn proper.
Nominated meridon for RP experience points
You push through the stout wooden door of the Rose and Lion, and enter into the sounds of people laughing and the scents of freshly baked bread and roasting meat.
Common Room: Rose and Lion Inn, Caemlyn
The common room of The Rose and Lion is a merry place. The patrons here appear happy, and sit at stout wooden tables, or at the long bar, in groups of twos or threes. There is much drinking, talking and laughing.
The crowd is large tonight, and laughter and chatter fills the common room to the rafters. The customers enjoy the brisk warmth of the fire that is blazing upon the stout flagstone hearth. A stout wooden door leads back out to the busy Caemlyn Road, a smaller wooden door leads to the stables, and a well-worn staircase leads up to the private bedchambers and common sleeping areas.
Kellian, Jane, Dashel, Melith, Inarin, Darayn
Kellian studies the room for a moment before he also settles into a seat by the window.
Melith laughs, lightly, gazing at Darayn. "You must have not met many Saldaeans, m'lord. I fear we are as changeable as the weather. Sometimes the temperature of my tea makes us frown, and the warmth of a friendly smile makes us laugh." There is a ring of falsehood underneath her banter, and she breaks her gaze for a moment as she speaks.
Jane asks Kellian softly, "You believe the rumors? About Dragons and villages?"
There is some amusement within Rennar's eyes as she enters into the Inn, at some comment or another someone made in passing to her as she came through the doors. Behind her is a man, tall and dark haired, which accompanies her; a guard familiar to those who fraternize upon Hune gounds; Hawke. She pauses a moment by the door, glancing briefly over the room for free tables. She makes a point to nod cordially in Kellian and Jane's direction before looking further, eyes landing softly and curiously on Darayn and the young woman with whom he speaks.
Kellian nods in return to Rennar, then looks at Jane,"I am afraid I am not uptodate with the latest rumors, Jane, what are they saying?"
Melith looks up sharply at Jane as she overhears the word Dragon.
Cronus enters The Rose and Lion, looking around the common room.
Rudra arrives with Cronus.
Darayn's answering chuckleis light enough, the swordsman content enough to allow Melith the subtle deceit without further inquiry, "In truth, Melith, I have not." he acceeds, "Although if you are any indication of the culture and..." and pauses mid-sentence at the woman's quick reaction. "Is something the matter/" he inquires earnestly, turning slightly in his seat to glance in the direction of Melith's sudden gaze.
Jane says, voice pitched for the table, "That they attacked villages. Dain wouldn't. Don't know the other one." She glances at Cronus and That Dog, grimacing slightly, but looks back to Kellian.
Tynkale looks with darting eyes around the room, inspecting the patrons of the inn.
Tynkale sits down at Small Table near stairs.
Tynkale orders Ale.
A server scurries over to the Small Table near stairs and sets the Ale before Tynkale.
from his corner, Dashel glances out into the room, before he waves one of the servers over, ordering some tea...
Kellian looks at Jane speaking softly,"You know this Dain so well?" Curious about that comment more then anything.
Inarin's seated with the three other Children still, speaking to them quietly. His attention swings towards Kellian and Jane, but only for a moment.
Dragons, a nasty lot they are. Rennar moves further into the room, her back to the door. Hawke, her guardsman, moves with her in an easy, fluid fashion. Her own attention is on her cousin, who's table she starts toward. In passing, she nods to Inarin, recognizing him amongst the Children of the Light whom dine here this evening.
Jane shrugs, frowning faintly. She admits, "No." But, "Still don't think he would."
Kellian nods. "I have not heard any official reports of villages burned. I would guess that is idle rumor."
Tynkale leans into his chair, and lifting his glass, takes his left hand and picks a tome and quill out of one of the numerous pockets in his flowing green robes. Placing his glass down, he begins to take his ink out.
Clay comes down the creaking stairs, and enters the common room.
Ganstad enters The Rose and Lion, looking around the common room.
Clay pushes through the wooden door and heads back out to the stableyard.
Tynkale looks up at Ganstad, nodding his head ever so slightly.
Melith looks irritatedly at the Whitecloak and Jane. "Rumors...can be very dangerous." She replies to Darayn, frowning.
Cronus enters glancing about the room. Spotting Inarin, he is ready to leave, but then he looks about some more. Eyes fall on Rennar and he stops the door from shutting, letting Rudra leave... reluctantly. He continues his gaze, offering a nod to Melith, Kellian and Dashel. A smile for each as well, seeing Kellian in conversation he moves to Melith instead.
Rudra pushes through the wooden door and heads back out to the stableyard.
Clay comes down the creaking stairs, and enters the common room.
Clay pushes through the wooden door and heads back out to the stableyard.
Jane nods to Kellian. "'Kay." She watches the dog's departure, torn between pleased and annoyed, and says to Kellian, "See?" As if she'd just won some point.
Melith is sitting with Daryan, but frowning toward Jane and Kellian.
The blonde-haired Hune shrugs, noting the approach of the Daughter-Heir and her accompaniment before returning his attention to the woman across from him, "I've always believed the truth is often more dangerous by far than rumor...at least to those who seek to obscure it," he adds with a wry chuckle at his proverbial utterings.
One of the Children nods towards Inarin, stands, and leaves, leaving a chair empty now that Ganstad's arrived. Turning towards the Child, Inarin lifts a hand, "Child Al'Rhoker."
The Lady cannot help her fear of dogs, and is hardly at fault for it. Smiling lightly, Rennar nods her head toward Darayn as she finally stops at his table, "Good evening, Darayn."
Tynkale begins to jot notes apace, and without stopping, looks up around the common room. Finnaly, seeming satisfied in his work, closes the tome and takes his mug to his lips.
Ganstad strides into the Inn, a bit introspective as he makes his way toward the bar, not seeing much of anything around him. Until Inarin greets him of course. His eyes lift, he glances over, and his back and shoulders suddenly stiffen. He places a hand to his heart. "Light preserve you, my Lord Captain. I did not know you were here." He looks around further then, seeing all the familiar faces around him.

Kellian looks at Jane,"See?" he echoes.
Jane shrugs slightly, and speaks more quietly.
"Go ahead and have a seat, Child Al'Rhoker." Inarin gestures to one. "We were just taking a break from patrol through the city to relax a few." Sure you were, Inarin. And Children *really* just like to hang out in Common Rooms. "Last time we were here things were a bit..more hectic than this." He clears his throat.
Dashel looks around, slowly, but smiles as he pays the server arriving with his tea. He then glances around the room, once more, before he takes a
Melith looks away from Jane and Kellian and up at the woman arriving at the table she shares with Darayn. Curiously, a smile playing about her lips.
Dashel looks around, slowly, but smiles as he pays the server arriving with his tea. He then glances around the room, once more, before he takes a sip of the tea.
Tynkale orders Tossed-Greens.
A server scurries over to the Small Table near stairs and sets the Tossed-Greens before Tynkale.
Ganstad accepts the proferred seat, tugging his fingers one at a time from his riding gloves. "Yes, my Lord Captain. It was, at that. There was some ... excitement here last night as well, though nothing to compare."
Rising to his feet, Darayn offers the approaching Lady a formal bow of greeting, the mischievous smile playing at the edges of his lips a clue Darayn is fully aware how little Rennar enjoys such formality in places such as this, "Lady Rennar, it is ever a pleasure to find myself graced with your presence." he greets warmly, tone as oversweet as honey pourd liberally over sugar, "I was just passing a bit of time with the Lady Melith here," he says, indicating the Lady across from him, "Before your arrival. Would you care to join us, perhaps?"
Rennar nods politely to Melith, though her eyes fall curiously on Darayn. Hearing the term 'Child' and 'Lord Captain' being through about the Inn, Rennar turns her attetnion briefly toward Inarin's table. A curious eye scans over Ganstad, having never seen that particular Child of the Light before. Turning back to her cousin, Rennar responds, "Only if its no imposition."
Jane nods to Kellian, relaxing slightly. She nods to Ganstad, too, even if he's not looking her way. And asks Kellian, "You like chicken?"
Rennar further adds, smirking a bit, "And only if you simply call me Rennar here. I'll not have the courts of Andor chasing me in here."
Kellian looks back at Jane,"Why, yes I do Jane. I take it you are partial to it as well?"
Paithen sits down at Small Table near stairs.
Ganstad actually was looking at Jane, and at Kellian as well. He nods his head in return, but then gives his attention back to Inarin.
Melith also stands and starts to drop a curtsey. At Rennar's words, she stops. "And what shall I call you, my lady?" she asks, smiling.
Tynkale looks up at Paithen, smiling brightly at him. "Ah, finnaly ye arrive. I have news and buisness to discuss, young Paithen."
Paithen says "That we do, Tynkale. Remeber, time is money."
Smiling pleasantly, Rennar addresses Melith, "You may simply call me Rennar as well." An odd trait with this particular Lady, wishing it put behind her life as the Daughter-Heir when she passes through the doors to the Inn. Perhaps her only time for normality.
Inarin looks towads Rennar, nodding towards her politely. "Lady Rennar," he calls out to her, tone as polite as the nod. Looks like she can't *quite* escape the courts of Andor. He turns his attention back to the others at his table.
Jane nods. Looking expectant. He talked about food. She remembers these things, clearly. Then her eyes widen, and she asks another low-voiced question.
Cronus looks about the room for an empty table and notes the only open one. He gives a nod to Melith, when he catches her eye and motions to the long table. Where he goes back and sits at, ordering a tea from a server.
Cronus sits down at Long Table near door.
Melith smiles pleasantly and gestures to the table, "Please join us, then Rennar. And please call me Melith." A puzzled frown passes her lips. "You are the Daughter-Heir, are you not?" she asks. As she asks, she notices Cronus gesturing to her from behind Rennar, and she nods briefly, then turns her gaze to the woman before her.
Darayn's smile is clearly amused, "Oh, I am certain there is no imposition whatsoever," he notes as he glances over to the Whitecloak who is so free to hail the Daughter-Heir in an Inn with what one could only call a disapproving gaze.
Ganstad follows Inarin's greeting over to Rennar, and he notes her, as well as her present company. Turning back to Inarin, he asks, "Was there any aspect of your patrol you wish me to follow up on, my Lord Captain?"
Paithen mutters to Tynkale, "It... that... friend... for a..."
Quite free, it seems. Inarin's attention swings back towards Ganstad. He shakes his head, helmet taken off and set aside. "No, Child Ganstad. Though I did meet a City Guardsman that claimed you and he had spoken many times of the Way of the Light."
Hearing her name called across the room, Rennar turns to address the person. In doing so, she freezes slightly. She didn't actually think one of the Children was going to address her; particularly not Inarin. She studies him a quiet moment, curiosity and something else touching her eyes, before she musters a greeting of her own, "Good evening, Lord Captain Donnerick." She usues his formal name, rather than familiar. She nods when Ganstad turns his attention in her direction as well, then looks hastily back to Darayn. Discomfort does not explain her reaction; perhaps a touch of fear and respect might be there. "I trust all is well, cousin?" She speaks as she finally takes a seat at the offered table.
"Yes, Sir." Ganstad's hands fold together tighter. "A Saben Derne, yes? He has a great interest in the Light."
Kellian raises his hand to signal a server over, ordering queitly he asks for two servings of the spiced chicken and two mugs of cider. Then he looks back at Jane,"And do you truly thing that following or not following such will make a difference to him..will change what he thinks of you? I will help you if I can Jane. But I think you worry on this matter too much."
"That must've been the one," Inarin nods slightly,. "I didn't quite have a chacne to catch his name before he scurried off on some matter or another. He seemd quite interested. Have you spoken to him of joining the Children? OR is he content as he is?"
Jane shakes her head. "No. Won't change his mind. But I don't want to embarass him."
Silver enters The Rose and Lion, looking around the common room.
Briefly, Rennar turns her attention to Melith, catching her question after her... distraction with the Children. "A pleasure to meet you, Melith." There is a pause at the question regarding her position in life. "I am." She does not elaborate on what she is, however; Melith's question answered for any who heard it.
Ganstad lifts his eyes in the direction of Jane and Kellian, then looks back to Inarin with serious (but still dull) eyes. He lowers his voice to answer.
Darayn sems reluctant to relinquish his frank observation of the CHildren, but in the end does so in order to address Rennar directly as he likewise sits, "Oh, as well as one could expect," he responds vaguely, still slightly piqued.
Tynkale mutters to Paithen, "... is... as... the... We... avoid contact... Children,..."
Ganstad sits down at Center Table.
Rennar nods absently to Darayn, her distraction evident. "Aye, the same here." When Juli, one of the barmaids who works at the Inn makes her rounds, Rennar stops her a moment and whispers an order to her quietly, paying in advance.
Paithen mutters to Tynkale, "... don't really care... usually don't... deep into... I... to..."
At your table, Melith reseats herself and waits for Rennar to finish her business with the server. "So you are the one who is so interested in the well-being of the boy Alcoran took to Tar Valon?" she asks in a low voice, looking at Rennar.
Paithen calls over a server and gets an ale.
Kellian nods at Jane,"That is understandable. Perhaps you could ask Lady Rennar? Or Eglantine?"
Tynkale mutters to Paithen, "... must wait... our... is... in... plans..."
Jane's eyes widen, and she shakes her head. "They're Ladies. 'S different. Thought you might know."
Rennar's brow knits at a question Melith poses to her, She mutters to Fireside Table, "... afraid... you are speaking about. I... know any... boy..." If Melith means Emos, that boy is always getting himself into trouble; kidnapping, running away, disappearing, running away. Who can keep track of him?
At your table,Rennar's brow knits at a question Melith poses to her, "I'm afraid I don't know what you are speaking about. I do not know any Alcoran, or any boy that he knows." If Melith means Emos, that boy is always getting himself into trouble; kidnapping, running away, disappearing, running away. Who can keep track of him?
Paithen mutters to Tynkale.
Paithen mutters to Tynkale, "... a bodyguard was not previously..."
Paithen mutters to Tynkale, "I... alone.... our way."
Gatts sits down at Small Table near stairs.
Silver beams at the crowd. She strides to the center of the room and pulls out a flute. "Any requests?"
Kellian nods at her again,"Well, I've not had much experience in that arena."
Jane nods. Quietly, "Grew up in Andor? Didn't you?" Not sure.
Gatts pulls his Berserker sword from its sheath. a metalic ringing sound whistles through the air.
At your table, Melith frowns. "A boy named Emos?" she asks the woman, tilting her head.
Gatts lays the sword beside him on the table
Silver says "very well..."
Tynkale eyes Gatts and Paithen, mutters very softly." Do you want protection or not? This man is the best I could get."
Paithen glances at the sword on the table. "Very inconspicuous."
Melith frowns and looks up alarmed, as a sword is drawn in the Inn, She touches the dagger at her waist.
Kellian smiles. "I was raised by a scholar in a small village at the edge of Andor, after that I lived with soldiers. And traveled a great deal."
Silver begins to play the tune to "Will you dance with me" or prehahps you recognize it as "What he said to me"
Gatts "no one but i may weild the sword, do not be alarmed."
Tynkale touches his wicked blade, glaring at melith "No trouble, melith, hes an outsider.
Paithen "I don't need portection." PHe glares at Gatts intently. "You know what you're getting into I assume."
Gatts smacks tyn
Rennar sighs a touch as Emos's name is brought up. She mutters to Fireside Table, "... had... even... was gone. He... of one... staff... the... she,... has... off... him... slippery... and... of trouble... running..." Sadly, she shakes her head from side to side. She takes that moment in time to look about the room and regard the newcomers. A smile graces her lips as Silver asks for song requests.
At your table,Rennar sighs a touch as Emos's name is brought up. "In truth, I had not even known he was gone. He is under the care of one of my staff within the House. I suspect she, herself has run off for fear of losing him again. Quite a slippery one that one is, and always into some sort of trouble or running away." Sadly, she shakes her head from side to side. She takes that moment in time to look about the room and regard the newcomers. A smile graces her lips as Silver asks for song requests.
Jane nods to Kellian. "Not...married people." Yes.
Gatts "if u value your life do not touch the sword it is a tool possesed by rage."
Gatts puts his sword by in its sheath
At your table, Melith studies Rennar's face for a moment, thinking. Shrugging to herself, she nods, and also looks up at the gleewoman with a smile. "I truly enjoy a good performance," she remarks to Rennar.
Paithen continues to glare at Gatts. "Rookie."
Melith turns to look at the gleewoman, smiling.
Cronus sits at the table, still watching those about the room. He arcs a brow at Gatts... now sure what he should do at the moment but he is on his feet. Watching carefully, for any more signs of violence from Gatts...
Gatts eying around the room he grins at the slightist sign of trouble. slowly and cautiously he sits down and laughs
Tynkale hides his face in the shadows
Silver senses tension in the room, but continues to play hoping it will cheer the mood. She begins to dance to her own tune, a smile on her face.
Gatts leans back in the shadows
Paithen glances at Corod, then looks back at Tynkale.
Kellian nods at her, yet again,"Not a one. Or those that were had not seen their wifes in a very long time."
Tynkale pulls Paithen into the shadows, glancing quickly at Corod
Jane nods regretfully. "'Kay. 'S probably all right."
Corod strides in through the common room door, and takes a deep breath. Finally back in the Rose and Lion.
Melith turns to Rennar, apologetically. "If you'll pardon me, Rennar, I have something to discuss with Lieutenant Cronus."
Inarin seems pleased at what Ganstad is telling him quietly. He nods to him, briefly, and says, "Good, Child, Al'Rhoker. Very good." He leans forward in his seat, dropping his tone to a more conversational, quiet, level.
the song "what he said to me" comes to an end.
Alcoran enters The Rose and Lion, looking around the common room.
"Of course, Mistress. In all actuality, it is perhaps best that I return home now anyway. I was only simply stopping by before returning home." With that, Rennar rises herself and starts toward the door, her shadow, Hawke, following after her.
Donovan enters The Rose and Lion, looking around the common room.
Celesia enters The Rose and Lion, looking around the common room.
Silver says "Agian, I ask, are there any requests?"
Lyssa enters The Rose and Lion, looking around the common room.
Gatts glances at Paithen
Ganstad inclines his head respectfully at Inarin's words. "Thank you, my Lord Captain." He opens his mouth to say more, then glances up as Alcoran and his attendees enter. Whatever he was about to say is lost, and Ganstad lowers his brows.
Cronus watches a bit longer nodding as no more violence seems to be an issure and moves back to his seat at the long table. But stops at the flood of people coming through the door. He glances back at Melith, a look to hopefully keep her calm. Then back to the others entering... and continues to the table.
Kellian thinks for a moment. "I am certain there are many women of Caemlyn you could ask Jane.
Jane nods. "'Kay. Just thought..." She shrugs. "You're Sensible."
Tynkale orders Ale.
A server scurries over to the Small Table near stairs and sets the Ale before Tynkale.
Tynkale pinches the barmaids bottom as she passes by, a grin playing his face, as well as drunkness.
Paithen orders Ale.
A server scurries over to the Small Table near stairs and sets the Ale before Paithen.
You stand and leave Fireside Table.
Silver begins to play "Only One Boot" hoping it will cheer things up a little.
Paithen glares at Tynkale. "Remember, time is money."
"Have a good evening." Are Rennar's final words to Melith before making her way out. She nods once more to Inarin, Kellian and Jane all, then starts to open the door to step outside.
Gatts smiles gently at the barmaid and says ina calm deep voice, "one ale."
Jane nods back to Rennar, polite if cautious.
Melith rises, nodding to Rennar, and turns to approach Cronus' table. As the door opens, admitting the Alcoran and the Valavendil, she halts. Her glance darkens, and she pivots on her heel, heading towards the stairs.
Melith stands and leaves Fireside Table.
Gatts drinks his ale cautiously prepared for the slightest sign of trouble
You push through the wooden door and head back out to the stable yard.
