| Summary: | A simple night turns out ot be a somewhat eventful evening, as Lord Demonder attempts to take his wife, Lady Rennar, to the dinner party a the palace, held in honor of the visiting Aes Sedai dignitaries. The first thing slated for that evening was the discovery of an unknown Hune member, Lady Jaelana Leran-Hune. Later, they travelled to the Palace, where Lady Rennar was announced as being the Daughter-heir; something that was known to some members of Andor, but not quite made so public previously. |
Entrance Hall: Tiras Lorn, Caemlyn
You are in the foyer, or entrance hall, of House Hune. The walls around you are made of white stone, and the floor is made of marble. Set into the middle of the floor is a stone mosaic of the House Hune sigil. Doors and archways lead off of the foyer into other parts of the building. But the most predominant feature here is the staircase. It stands opposite the doors to the courtyard, and is made of marble. It is in a horseshoe shape, with the two ends beginning on the floor, and the height of the crescent reaching the second floor. There is a small landing at the climax of the staircase, so it is possible to go from one end of the stairs to the other without actually leaving the foyer. The small landing area leads into the upstairs hallway, but is also useful as an area from which to address large crowds in the foyer. Under the landing area is the door to the kitchen. In the south wall is the door to the Steward's Office, and the north wall contains the entrance to the Grand Hall. A large fireplace also rests in the north wall, and gives heat to the main floor during the winter.
Demonder, Jaelana
Light footsteps echo down the stairs as Rennar makes her entrance into the hall. Her hand lightly trails along the banister, ensuring she does not slip or fall, or if she does she has something to hold onto. Her steps are slow and careful, her eyes taking in all about her.
Jaelana has taken a rather unusual seat on the floor, her back against the wall. There's no obvious reason why she chose that place compared to others, but she's quietly studying the ends of her hair for one reason or another.
Demonder passes out through the Grand Hall, still obviously munching on something as he waves to Genette (chances are). Demonder completely misses Jaelana on the floor, though his eyes do find Rennar easily enough as she comes to the bottom of the stairs. A pleased smile comes to his expression. He looks well-fed, the way his hand contently rubs his stomach.
Jaelana fiddles with her hair, seemingly oblivious to anyone else in the hall for the time being.
Today is Threeday, 8 Maighdal, 999 NE. It is a Summer evening.
"Good evening, Demonder." Rennar's voice comes from above, her eyes seeming to shine slightly as she catches sight of her husband. The floor not exactly being a place one generally sits, Rennar does indeed miss Jaelana's presense, not entirely aware of her cousin's entrance into the household as yet. "I trust you've eatten already?" A brow delicately raises as she takes note of the foodstuffs Demonder munches on.
"My beautiful wife," Demonder greets with that dramatic voice, his eyes needing to be pealed from Rennar in order so that he may see the person of her attention. He looks to Jaelana, and then to Rennar, stopping in his tracks.
Jaelana looks up quickly upon hearing voices, then tugs nervously on her hair.
The lady upon the stairs gives pause to finishing her way down when Demonder takes note of someone she's missed. Her attention goes from Demonder to the girl she's never seen before, a brow lifting faintly. "Good evening," she speaks in an amiable, yet cautious voice.
Jaelana shifts somewhat uneasily as she tugs on her hair.
Jaelana shifts somewhat uneasily as she tugs on her hair. "Light illumine..." She doesn't really know either of the two, in fact, still is rather insecure as to what she's actually doing here. She twists her hair around her fingers as she watches both.
Likely this is something Genette has yet gotten around to telling Rennar and Demonder. "Might I help you with something?" That confusion only seems to increase within the young lady as she makes her way fully down the stairs. She steps far enough away from them for Jaelana to take note of her presense, and to keep Demonder in her line of sight. Rennar folds her hands before her, watching Jaelana with curious eyes.
Demonder is briefly distracted by the woman sitting on the floor. In fact, this is somewhat normal around the Roesone manor, so he basically ignores her for now. "I've been well fed, yes." He comments, eyes shifting to the woman on the floor and then his wife.
Jaelana bites her lip as she tries to think of something to say. "I.... I am all right... I guess I can go if you want me to..." She definitely looks somwaht uncertain, but she does stand, still tugging on her hair.
"Well..." Rennar begins, looking to Demonder briefly when he speaks. She manages something of a smile, and including them both in that smile, "Before you do anything of the sort, I'd like to know you are and what you are doing here." There is no accusation within Rennar's voice. In fact, she still seems very amiable and friendly.
Jaelana hesitates a moment before answering. "Jaelana Leran..." She trails off and pauses for another moment before continuing. "... Lord Ryles said... it should have Hune on the end, because of my mother... And Lord Sev said that... well, I should stay here or something, and..." She looks down again, but one might have trouble making sense of her words.
"Hune?" Demonder ponders Jaelana with different eyes now, still looking more curious then anything else. He turns more toward her, though then takes a few steps toward Rennar, his hand moving across her shoulder in a light squeeze. "So you are related?"
"I... I don't know. I... I guess so. If you say so..." Well, Jaelana doesn't really know, not knowing who everyone is.
A brow lifts faintly at Jaelana's words, a delicate touch coming to her eyes, "I am Lady Rennar Hune." She tilts her head to the side a bit, watching the young woman's reaction carefully. She pauses a moment, then further asks, "Who was your morther?"
Jaelana's eyes widen slightly at Rennar's introduction, then she continues twisting her hair around her fingers. "My mother.... /is/..." she emphasies the word, perhaps because of the tense, "... Caralaine Le..." she stops again. "I guess it would be Hune-Leran," she finishes off, somewhat uncertainly still.
Demonder looks to the kitchen and continues to rub his stomach a bit further. He hmmms lightly.
That name only seems to ring a bell vaguely. Though, not so vague that it doesn't cause Rennar to widen her eyes a bit, "Caralaine...?" There were stories and rumors floating around the house regarding one named such when she was younger.
Jaelana nods, though she pulls several more locks of hair across her face till they act almost as a curtain for her to hide behind, one which she does, nonetheless, peek through.
"Lady Jaelana, then," Demonder makes his conclusion with the shrug of the shoulder. "Perhaps you'd wish to seat on one of the avaliable seats?" he suggests.
"I'm all right.... sir." Jaelana hesitates before the last, perhaps not sure just what title to use.
There is a slight nodding of the head at Demonder's words, "Indeed, Lady Jaelana." Rennar speaks those words, folding her hands over her skirts. "I had not known that you were here, cousin, otherwise we'd have made more comfortable accomdations for you, unless Genette's provided you with adequate quarters?"
"I... I'm all right, thank you," Jaelana says quickly as she still tugs on her hair.
Rennar regards Jaelana carefully, "I trust then, you are finding your stay at Tiras Lorn well?" It is small chatter, but what more can Rennar do, not really knowing this girl before her.
Jaelana nods. "Yes, I am..." This time, Jaelana resorts to nibbling on the ends of her hair, but she definitely looks nervous, and her eyes stray to the door and 'freedom'.
Rennar's not exactly keeping Jaelana confined to the House. Her eyes take in the young woman a few more moments, then she turns to Demonder, smiling at her husband, "You did leave some dinner for me? Since you went ahead and ate already?"
Jaelana looks somewhat relieved as Rennar's attention leaves her, then she takes a few small side-steps towards the door, though looking wary just in case someone tries to stop her.
When no one does stop her, Jaelana almost scurries outside, evidently glad to be out now that there are other people in the hall.
Demonder peers at Rennar with a confused expression. "You wished dinner?" he asks in a mock surprise. "There is enough, of course. Genette..." his voice trails, light eyes gleaming a little. "Well, she has always made more then enough, has she not?"
"Well, more than enough since you've taken up permanent residence." Rennar teases lightly, her eyes taking on a warm, lighted note. She moves over to place a gentle kiss on her husband's lips, somehow seeming more comfortable around him than before.
That he likes, Demonder's arm moving around her waist, gladly accepting the offered kiss. "Indeed, she has found someone that eats appropriately," he teases with a smirk. "Did you wish to go out this evening, my love? I hear the Tower is here. Perhaps we may dine in the Palace?"
A light chuckle starts to escape Rennar before the rest of Demonder's words continue. Her jovial manner seems to cease somewhat, though not entirely. "The Palace...?" Rennar furrows her brow as she looks at Demonder, "Why would I want to go there?"
"To make an appearance. You are..." Demonder carefully reroutes the originaly intended words. "Duchess of a House Hune. It might do well to insure an appearance in such an official gathering?"
There is a moment of hesitation before Rennar responds just as carefully, "I'd much rather spend some quiet time with my husband." Gently, she reaches out a hand to carefully caress Demonder's cheek. This is, perhaps, an attempt at getting out of doing anything that has to do with the Palace. "I'm sure the dignitaries that are already there can deal with their stuffiness without us."
Demonder shakes his head lightly, placing a kiss on her cheek. Now, the young Lord might actually fall for these anctics, though Rennar would need to be making more direct offers. "I would advise us going, my love. It is proper and expected."
A frown touches Rennar's lips at Demonder's words, tilting her head to the side. "So, you'd rather spend a light with stuffy dignitaries because it's 'proper' than a night with your wife?" She takes a step away from her husband, regarding him with a quiet expression.
Demonder frowns at that. "No, I would rather be here and spend the night with my wife." Even Demonder's tone is suggestive, though much of what Rennar's husband does can be considered suggestive due to the way he looks at Rennar, his intense gaze clearly wanting. As it always has. "I was suggesting it be better for House Hune. Not for my own comforts."
A sigh escapes Rennar. It's obvious she doesn't want to go. "Very well." She comments quietly, "But just a quick apperance, then out again. And, if Prince Theowyn comes in our direction, we avoid him. I've no patience to deal with /him/ tonight." What irks her more is the man will be pleased to see her there that night, and possibly smug about it.
"Will there be a night where you will have patience for the First Prince?" Demonder asks, a hinting smile showing as he steals away a kiss and then offers his arm. "I assume you are ready to go, my love?"
"As ready as I am going to be." Yet, there is still a hesitation within Rennar. She chews on her lower lip and waits for Demonder to get ready, or at least start leading her out of the room.
Demonder nods with a slight nod, amused briefly before offering words of reassurance. "It will be fine, love." His voice is warm. "Then we can have our evening together, for ourselves only." He guides her out the door.
You are now following Demonder.
Rennar leaves with Demonder.
Palace Courtyard: Royal Palace of Andor, Caemlyn
A large, wide-open courtyard surrounds the breathtaking beauty of the Royal Palace of Andor. The pale beauty of the famed Ogier stonework, its high terraces and balconies and golden domes making your eye travel higher and higher to see more. The courtyard is very austere, with well-tended patches of lawn offsetting the stark white of the paving stones.
Small groups of Queen's Guards patrol the area, keeping it safe from any intrusion. The smell of delicious foods cooking fills the air. The warm breeze brings the scent of roses on the air. Their heavy scent completely permeates the air here, creating an exotic feel. The massive, double doors to the Palace are guarded by a small group of Queen's Guards. A small path paved in white stone leads off to the east towards the Queen's Gardens and flagstones lead northwest towards the guard's practice yard. A hoof-beaten path angles towards the stables to the west and the great gates lead back north out to the Queen's Plaza.
Demonder, Darius
Rennar arrives with Demonder.
A carriage rounds through the gates, after being stopped for inspection, and heads toward the entrance of the Palace. Lord Demonder and Lady Rennar are led out.
Rennar carefully steps out of the carriage, accepting Demonder's hand as he attempts to help her out. She smiles wanly at her husband, then looks up bleakly at the Palace. "Lets get this over with." She comments quietly.
Demonder walks through the gleaming white double doors, into the Royal Palace.
Rennar leaves with Demonder.
Entry Hall: Royal Palace of Andor, Caemlyn
A wide, circular entry hall with a high, vaulted ceiling greets you as you enter the Royal Palace of Andor.
You can hear the sounds of the evening meal being prepared from somewhere further in the Palace, the smells of freshly baked bread and roasting meat filling the air. A few of the tall windows are opened up, to allow the fresh summer breeze to flow through the great entry hall. A grand circular staircase curves up to the higher levels of the Palace. A long, straight corridor runs to the southwest, and a winding corridor tiled in white leads off to the east. Atop a couple large steps, A great, arched doorway of gleaming white stone faces the high main doors and leads further into the palace.
Demonder, Maricca, Vasimer, Rezna, Kellian, Einone
Rennar arrives with Demonder.
Kellian stands with two guards, waiting for all of the party from the White Tower to enter the Dining Hall.
Einone limps closer to the exit, concentrating carefully on her breathing, keeping herself calm and poised
Through the doors, the dark purple cloak of Lord Demonder flashes through as he leads Lady Rennar within. There seems to be a sense of reassurance on Demonder's features as they head toward the entry hall. Demonder is not exactly specific on its location, but he does spy out the crowd, and makes his assumptions.
Rennar enters inside the entry hall on the arm of her husband, Demonder. Her eyes take on those who are present, a brow lifting faintly at the line waiting to get into the grand hall, "Or, on second thought, maybe it would be better if we just not...."
Einone walks west through a tall, curving archway of white stone.
Maricca remains on the arm of her husband as they wait for entry. Her emerald eyes glance round the room, taking in the many unfamiliar faces.
"This is an excellent idea," Demonder insists, rather foolishly if one were to consider his tone. There is no giving up on the pace he escorts toward the line. "Do we not get some sort of priority in line?" he asks as an asside, doubtful however.
"That depends on if they consider the heir-apparent important enough to push through." Rennar's voice takes on a grumbly sort of tone when she answers Demonder. It is clear she's not liking this idea of greeting these new visitors. "There are Aes Sedai amongst them." She says to Demonder, as though placing some emphasis on that.
Kellian looks to Rezna, the ambassador from Cairhein, and his wife,"Good evening, you received word about the party from the White Tower?" The Captain-General then looks to Rennar and Demonder, and moves toward them,"Ah, and good evening to both of you. It is welcome sight to see House Hune here in the palace."
Doubt holds itself upon Rennar's features. "Good evening..." She looks over Kellian with a scrutinous eye, "Captain-General." Her tone is pleasant enough, though she seems a touch distant. She remains close to Demonder, not straying from her husband. She says nothing about how welcome it is to actally have Hune within the palace walls.
"I would assume so," Demonder shrugs, not really expecting as much, not much caring. The subject does amuse him as he bows his head to Kellian and the others waiting. They do approach the back of the line.
Maricca smiles to Kellian "Good evening Captain-General. Yes we have received word and felt it would be most proper to come welcome the esteemed guests." she holds her husbands arm as she waits for the other formalities she is so dreading.
Kellian looks at Rennar,"You and I spoke some time ago about your displeasure of matters military here in Caemlyn. I am hopeful that you will not find such distant and unhappiness now. If you do, please let me know directly if you find my policies harsh or thoughtless." He takes a step back then as the two aides consult with him about some matter.
Rezna nods matter of factly to the Captain General. "I have had some forwarning yes. Are we to go in or should we be waiting for something?"
Kellian looks up from his consultation, and says to Rezna,"The herald will announce you directly."
Rezna walks west through a tall, curving archway of white stone.
Vasimer leaves with Rezna.
Maricca leaves with Rezna.
"Only time will tell, Captain-General." Rennar remains rather formal, neither really knowing Kellian, nor looking very comfortable being in the Palace. She's been avoiding it for quite sometime. Some might even say almost a year or two now.
"You gained a raise in rank and a surprise in title within one night, if I hear correctly?" Demonder asks Kellian, a matter he has been curious about obviously for some time.
Kellian sends his aides off to deal with matters of palace security and moves back to speak and answer Demonder,"Yes. You did in fact hear correctly. I must admit to feeling more confidence in my ability to lead the armies of Andor then in holding up the mantle of House Versyr. But, as a good general, I am always tasked to survey new terrain and combat the unexpected." He smiles faintly.
"I wish to hear this the facts behind the title in last name," Demonder bows then, appropriatley, for a man of Kellian's rank. With that, he begins to lead Rennar toward the entrance unless she has anything else.
"I have the utmost confidence that you'll do better than that 'man' who called himself a member of the Queen's Guard, much less headed it." Rennar sniffs. At least she's being polite about it, for now. However if she gets started she'll have no compuction about calling Durnik a darkfriend openly.
Kellian nods to them both,"I will be happy to explain." that to Demonder."Thank you, Lady Rennar."
Demonder nods respectfully, and leads on.
Demonder walks west through a tall, curving archway of white stone.
Rennar leaves with Demonder.
Dining Hall: Royal Palace of Andor, Caemlyn
A large, square dining hall, with white walls and a marble floor of red-veined white. A huge dining table of a rich, dark wood inlaid with ivory sits at the center of the room. It runs the length of the hall, with chairs along its sides, and at the head and foot. The chairs are cut velvet with the White Lion of Andor emblazoned on their backs.
The table is laid out with fine gold-chased silver plates, and finely crafted silverware. Silver goblets await being filled with water or wine, and servants lay out the evening meal. The warmth of the summer makes you wish you had something cold to drink. The smell of freshly cut grass and the perfume of roses drifts through the dining hall. A pair of wooden doors in the west wall lead into the palace's aromatic kitchens, a gracefully curving white stone archway leads out to the east, and a set of tall, white doors gilded in gold lead to the south.
Demonder, Maricca, Vasimer, Rezna, Einone, Tone, Raziah, Sev, Alwyne, Caenna, Lorewyr, Rio, Theowyn, A guardsman
Entry Hall Servants' Wing
Rennar arrives with Demonder.
Lorewyr calls out, his voice getting even more royal at this announcement, if it's possible, "Daughter-Heir, Duchess Rennar Hune, and her husband, Lord Demonder roesone."
Tone takes the glass that was handed to him, and more gulps at it than sips, untill he sees the other's behavior and slows his accordingly. Wondering what he is suppose to be doing he glances at the new arrivals and remains silent for the moment content to simply studied the newest members of the dinner party.
Rio inclines her head formally to the daughter-heir and her husband as they near the head table. There is, of course, a place of honor reserved for them near the head table along with the prince and the aes sedai. The drinks are still being served and the dinner has not quite begun yet.
A small frown touches Rennar's features as Lorewyr announces her as the Daughter-heir. She glances to Demonder, giving him something of a sigh, then places a rather unreadable expression on her features, while seeming pleasant at the same time. She dips her head graciously to any who actually take the time to acknowledge her arrival; something she had hoped would go completely without notice.
Einone glances to the new arrivals, large glorius eyes widenning a little further
Caenna glances up, cradling her goblet in both hands. Her face is thoughtful as she regards them.
Sev raises a glass to Rennar as she enters, and glances to check up on Tone.
Vasimer glances idly towards the newest arrivals but doesn't seem particularly interested in them, or anyone else in the room.
Demonder blinks a few times at Lorewyr, but then decides to shake his head briefly. He does bow his head attempting to mimic Rennar. The young Lord's dark purple lifts from the floor as he guides Rennar toward the tables. Which table is a point of interest, and he seems to look to Rennar in that matter. Seeming guided to spot the guide, he heads toward the indicated place.
Alwyne turns to watch the new arrivals and actually smiles at the Lady Rennar.
Raziah looks up at the name Roesone, though her face remains a plesant smile, as she nods her head as if she were curtsying in her seat, as she regards the Daughter-Heir.
Maricca nods to her husband and takes a wine from the server, she sips it slowly and grows quiet. She so detests such large gatherings.
Theowyn spies out Rennar much like the others would. The smile on Theowyn's features nears a smug tone, as though some great task had been accomplished. The First Prince bows his head lightly to her, and then leans forward to sip at his red wine.
The servents have made sure that all of theguests now have a beverage of their choice, be it wine, sangria or fruit juice. The head waiter gives a small bow to the First Prince as a sign that all is ready and waiting for the man's signal.
Raziah smiles and shakes her head whispering to Einone, She mutters to Einone, "I've never... of... this..."
Alwyne accepts a glass of red wine from a servant, then turns back to those at her end of the table.
Kellian walks into the Dining Hall from the Entry Hall to the east.
Tone watches the Daughter-Heir, wondering if he should stand up and bow or something, but seeing Sev's simple glass salute decides to do the same. He glances at all the dignitaries feeling a little out of place, but tring not to show it.
Rennar leans in closely to Demonder, seemingly sticking closer to his side more now than when they were in the entry hall. Her eyes carefully scan those in the room, yet at the same time seem to particularly pass over the Aes Sedai as though they were not even in existance. She mutters to Demonder, "Remember,... then we... be... back... don't want... stay..."
Demonder senses "Rennar leans in closely to Demonder, seemingly sticking closer to his side more now than when they were in the entry hall. Her eyes carefully scan those in the room, yet at the same time seem to particularly pass over the Aes Sedai as though they were not even in existance. "Remember, we are /only/ staying here briefly, then we will be going back home. I don't want to have to stay here any longer than needed.""
Lorewyr straightens up, and takes another breath, his voice burst forth once more, and announces, "Captain-General Kellian Versyr."
Demonder actually nudges away a servant that was offering to pull the seat for Rennar, doing so himself. He nods. "Of course." As he waits for Rennar to be seated, he watches over those immidiately around them.
Alwyne raises her eyebrow slightly at the lady's lack of response, but simply sips her wine and watches.
Lorewyr settles into a more comfortable position by the door, hands folded behind his back, he stands, ready to fill any need he's called on to do.
It might be noticed that Rennar chooses the seat furthest away from the First Prince, even if they are situated at the same table. "Thank you." She murmurs to Demonder, though that frown still has not seemed to have entirely left her features.
Kellian enters and walks to the chair that is pointed out to him by a servant, near Theowyn and Rio Sedai. He scans the room, checking that the guards are in place at the door. And that all is well here. He reaches his chair and looks at it for a moment as if he's never seen such a thing before. He pulls the chair out himself, then looks around at those seated here and finally takes his place among them.
Einone mutters to Raziah, "... but... know how to... here I... my depth"
Caenna sips at her wineglass slowly, a slightly worried look passing over her face as her thoughts wander.
Demonder takes his seat beside Rennar. "Daughter-Heir? I had not realized they wish to continue to announce your position," and the way Demonder gazes over the Tower party. "Well, regardless." He pushes in the seat.
Rennar's eyes turn toward the First Prince as she quietly responds to her husband, She mutters to Demonder, "... reason for avoiding... First... to... position... upon me,... or..."
Demonder senses "Rennar's eyes turn toward the First Prince as she quietly responds to her husband, "My reason for avoiding the First Prince. He means to shove the position and duty upon me, whether I will it or not.""
Sev whispers to Tone.
Raziah looks over the crowd in the Dining Hall, and makes note of who is who in her mind, as she fingers the rose veil she wears. She looks to Einone, She mutters to Einone, "... perhaps, but... and... the shawl, you will..."
Theowyn leans to the side. "More guests," he manages to give his half brother a challenging gaze. He watches the tables settle, as all people seem to be seated. He pauses briefly, to let conversations settles.
Sev mutters to Tone, "... gentleman by... my... Demonder of... The... is... the Prince,... man... balding... Rezna, ambassador... Cairhein, he,..."
Demonder looks in the direction of the Prince, and then nods. He mutters to Rennar, "... the... with the... my love...."
You sense Demonder looks in the direction of the Prince, and then nods. "Not the brightest of plans with the Tower here, my love. Are you well around here?"
Rio sips at the red wine that she has selected and smiles as Kellian finally joins them at the head table. "You take your duties seriously, Captain-General. Considering recent events, that is for the best."
Caenna readjusts her shawl, unused to wearing it for any length of time.
Sev mutters to Tone, "With... is... and..."
Rennar hesitates a moment, turning her attention to the table top, She mutters to Demonder, "... looking... not see... I... deal with them. Not only... Gaidin..." She shivers slightly over some discomfort, reaching out to catch the attention of one of the servants.
Demonder senses "Rennar hesitates a moment, turning her attention to the table top, "If I avoid looking at them, then I will not see any visions. I cannot say what I will do if I have to deal with them. Not only do the Aes Sedai have them, but the Gaidin do as well." She shivers slightly over some discomfort, reaching out to catch the attention of one of the servants."
Kellian looks at Rio calmly and nods,"You should have learned long ago how important the safety of those under my care is to me." His tone is gentle and kind, unusual for him. He looks at Theowyn,"I do not think we have seen all the guests yet, brother."
Rio glances at Kellian with puzzlement. "Are still more of the ambassadors coming then? I'm surprised. So few of them hold the tower in high regard as Andor does."
Kellian smiles,"No, nothing that germaine. I am expecting others to have heard by now of our guests."
Caenna murmurs, "The Children of the Light, you mean?"
Demonder sighs in a hint of relief. He mutters to Rennar, "Well,... it... as well?" he asks that, near whisper in tone.
You sense Demonder sighs in a hint of relief. "Well, at least it is avoidable. But the Prince does as well?" he asks that, near whisper in tone.
Tone nods his head to the Warder's words and gives him a quick apprasing glance as he goes over the list of guest naming some as realtives. After a few seconds he brings his gaze to the people the Warder mentioned storing away the information with a quick nod.
Raziah sighs quietly, taking a sip from her goblet and continues looking at the assorted guests.
Rennar gives a small shake of her head in response to something Demonder asks, She mutters to Demonder, "No,... to..."
Demonder senses "Rennar gives a small shake of her head in response to something Demonder asks, "No, the visions only come to those that are bonded to Sedai.""
Rio sighs and frowns. "I do not hold such in high regard, Caenna. I have suffered at their hands often enough in my life."
Rezna seems content to talk quietly with his wife and her guard. he has no desire to open up his mouth in front of a crowd of Aes Sedai.
Kellian looks at Caenna,"You are correct, Caenna Sedai. As Andor has a non-agression pact with them, and my sister Aislynn has not barred them from the palace, I am expecting them to seek to join our party. I do hope you can maintain order among your people while they are here. Just as my guard will ensure they will maintain their own decorum." Kellian looks toward those wide doors now, waiting.
Caenna nods to Rio. "I know, Sister. Few of us would disagree... And yes, Captain Kellian." Her gaze sweeps the table. "I believe there will be no trouble."
Rio sighs. "I had no idea that they had heard about this party. I would have prevented their coming if I could have." She shakes her head, "But you are right, there is the pact and Aislynn's word should be respected."
Sev speaks up, "Perhaps one day, there will be no cause for friction, eh? To understanding. "
Rio then looks at Caenna closely as if something has occured to her and she is puzzled by the white sister.
"The Children have made their place known with the Queen," Theowyn responds over the table after listening to the conversation quietly.
Theowyn stands, his glass being filled with fresh wine. He seems to wait patiently for the conversations to tone down. "On behalf of the Queen of Andor, I would likely to welcome the White Tower visiting party to Caemlyn. We know that at a time of tensions, those that offer aid in peace are well received in Andor." Obviously not a Prince that is accustomed to having formal arrangements, his sister usually taking them over with him simply watching, Theowyn rises his glass in toast.
Kellian mutters to Rio, "... your... I... at... you have,... is... grieve, just... I stood... for... to... Valon,... think of... future,... my... feelings on..."
Rezna looks around at all those assembled. Despite his best efforts...he's never been one to be able to abide with a mystery for long. his eyes go to the head of the table and he speaks up, his voice carries suprisingly when he wants it to. "If I may ask...who speaks for the tower expedition?"
Caenna turns her attention to Theowyn, lifting her glass as well in silent acknowledgement, before answering Rezna. "It would appear I do, Ambassador."
Maricca looks to her husband a bit surprised at his question. She sits back and listens curiously.
Raziah watches the others in the room carefully before following suit, as she raises her glass to the toast.
Alwyne raises her glass, then looks down towards Rezna as he speaks.
Tone just sits and let's his gaze wander to the people around him, wondering when the food will get here. But at the toast he rasies his glass to the welcome, and then a quick glance to Rezna, and his bluntness. The young proven even goes so far as to pale alittle thinking what would happen to him if he had done something with as much absolute tact as what he just saw.
Emrich walks into the Dining Hall from the Entry Hall to the east.
Rio rises to her feet and lifts her glass as well and after the prince makes his toast, she drinks to it. Then she gives Kellian a nod of understanding after he speaks quietly to her.
Rennar quiets her ongoing conversation with her husband as Theowyn starts to speak. It is at that time that the servant she caught earlier starts to also bring drinks for herself and her husband. Demonder is served a wine of his choice, while Rennar gets tea. Having just been brought their drinks, they miss the 'toasting' of the Tower.
Rezna lifts his glass and takes a drink from it. He gets straight to the point. "Do forgive my ignorance...I have only learned of your presence here an hour ago." There is a pause. "Why are you here?"
Lorewyr stands at the door, and as a new guest arrives, moves to bar his passage, a deep frown on his face, "I'm sorry, Sir." He blinks at the man, noticing the signs of the Children of Light, "This is a private dinner reception, and all the guest have arrived. If you wish to speak with someone, I'll be happy to take a message to them." His voice is a little hushed, so as not to disturb the dinners.
Einone follows suit wth everyone trying not to draw attention
Demonder seems to insure Roesone wine is available, before responding to Rennar. He mutters to Rennar, "... man... in... is settled.... the... put... end to this threat... war.... been... heard of..."
You sense Demonder seems to insure Roesone wine is available, before responding to Rennar. "I am certain the man will stop his badgering ounce this matter in Andor is settled. I expect the White Tower to put an end to this threat of war. If there even is one. It has been long since we heard of conflict."
Caenna's reply is in a suddenly distracted voice. "Perhaps this is not the best time to speak of this?" Her attention has moved on, is resting on the herald and the man he bars at the door.
Kahlil walks into the Dining Hall from the Entry Hall to the east.
Kellian stands as well, and takes a drink from his Lemongrass Tea. No wine for the Captain-General.
Rennar gives a small shake of her head, disagreeing, She mutters to Demonder, "As long... will... after... to... what... right... 'Andor'. I will not make... nor... I... start any... that..."
Demonder senses "Rennar gives a small shake of her head, disagreeing, "As long as Aislynn does not bear a girl child, he will be after me to do what is right for 'Andor'. I will not make a good Queen, nor do I want to start any training in that regard.""
Rezna shakes his head as his question is blown off. He looks back to his wife...making mental notes to be certain to treat Caenna in the same manner should they ever find themselves in discussion again in the future.
Kahlil enters the Dining Hall, looking around to survey the situations and people at hand, most of which is not readily apparent.
Theowyn looks to the door briefly, but seems unaware of the cause of this disturbance as he retakes his seat. "Well, certainly a fine line that is walked with the Children. I do see little reason for their desire to be among Aes Sedai, with all their fowl opinions."
Emrich looks at the man barring his path with arrogance well practiced. "You would deny entrance to the Lord Captain Commander of the Children of the Light?" He seems shocked and no little insulted. "Surely the Children can greet our esteemed guests?" He gestures back out the door, where a few other Children await to enter.
Tone glances at Sev still not grasping all the thing that suddenly seem to be happening. Once more with lowered voice he ask, "What's with Rezna's, and why is there a Child o Light trin ta get inta a Sedai dinner party."
Demonder nods silently. He mutters to Rennar, "... well... during... the White Tower... we... not do... your..."
You sense Demonder nods silently. "You would not deal well within the Tower during the training. You would not stay within the White Tower long when we were offered rooms before. Years within would not do well for your sanity."
Caenna contnues to regard the tableau at the door, lifting her glass to her mouth absently.
Einone being near the end of things she notices the problem at the door, carefully keeping her features calm
Rio looks at Caenna and follows her gaze to the door. Her eyes widen a little thoughtfully. Then she sighs and leans over to Kellian. "It seems your prediction came true. They are among us."
Maricca looks up to the door and sees the Children, she leans to her husband and whispers, then sips at her wine and watches.
Alwyne studies the tableu near the door, her expression unreadable.
Raziah frowns just slightly behind her viel, as she regards botht e Children, and the Illianer that have entered the Hall, but she regains her composure, and seemingly ignores the situiation. She mutters to Einone, "Try not... much... fine."
Rezna nods as he hears his wife's words. "I trust you can cool matters down should they heat beyond control?"
Kahlil stands near the entrance, behind the Children, waiting for some sort of resolution before he is announced.
Lorewyr nods his head, "Yes, I would bar passage to the Lord Captain Commander, especially if I was not told of his invitation to the party. Since you were not on the list I was given, I cannot allow you to enter." he stays right in front to Emrich, puffing up as much as he is able, "I'm sorry, but if you have a message, I will deliver it, but I cannot let you pass."
Rennar glances and looks rather bluntly at Demonder, 'I moved out a week later.' Again, another shiver passes over her. Her conversation could be directed toward a great many topics. She mutters to Demonder, "It would... he'd... everything... I... uncle... killed... kidnapped..." With her last words spoken, she reaches out and gently squeezes Demonder's hand, as though to show him she didn't mean her words. For the time being, she appears to be ingoring Emrich's entrance, took engrossed in her current conversation.
Demonder senses "Rennar glances and looks rather bluntly at Demonder, 'I moved out a week later.' Again, another shiver passes over her. Her conversation could be directed toward a great many topics. "It would just be better if he'd drop everything regarding me. I almost wish my uncle had killed me instead of kidnapped me." With her last words spoken, she reaches out and gently squeezes Demonder's hand, as though to show him she didn't mean her words. For the time being, she appears to be ingoring Emrich's entrance, took engrossed in her current conversation."
Einone nods to Raziah and tries to focus on her drink, peering out the corner of her large eyes at the whitecloak
The palace servents begin to filter in among the finely set tables of the room. They bring platters of roast beef, roast pig and vegatables that are native to andor. Each of the perfectly cooked foods are presented to the guests so that they might select what they wish to take for their repast.
Caenna rises toher feet, holding her glass still. She pitches her voice to be heard. "Lord Commander Emrich, do you have a compelling reason for being here?"
Darya walks into the Dining Hall from the Entry Hall to the east.
Verus walks into the Dining Hall from the Entry Hall to the east.
Darya ooc :follows Emrich and looks insulted?
Aleksei walks into the Dining Hall from the Entry Hall to the east.
Kellian begins to move,"I believe I should intercede," he looks to Theowyn, but stops the question when Caenna speaks.
Theowyn stands from his table, the chair pushing back against he floor. He straightens his coat before heading toward the door of the dining hall.
Demonder's hand comes across Rennar's shoulders, as he settles her into a slight hug. He mutters to Rennar, "... my love.... a girl,... over... Aislynn... no... of Andor."
You sense Demonder's hand comes across Rennar's shoulders, as he settles her into a slight hug. "Do not speak like that, my love. Once Aislynn bears a girl, this will be over with. And Aislynn has no intentions of giving up power of Andor."
Einone mutters to Raziah, "... place... up with..."
Lorewyr stands before Emrich, baring passage for all, even those rightful guest at the moment, behind him, the dinner is being served, and the people are talking, though mostly about the commotion at the door now.
Raziah shakes her head and look to Einone. She mutters to Einone, "... shame that... are... such... matter.... of..."
Verus carries his usual distinctive frown, which only increases when he is barred entrance. His casts an angered glance behind him, to the other Children, then returns to survey his gaze of the room, grimacing. He does not make any further move, however.
Darya tilts her and looks up at Emrich, held at the doorway with the rest of them.
A semi-short man in a white cloak enters through the arched doorway with two other people. He is held up by a herald at the doorway that wont allow him to pass.
Darya mutters to Emrich, "... those real..."
Rio sighs as yet MORE whitecloaks show up at the door. She picks up her wine and drinks a large amount of her. Her carefully planned dinner party is being ruined...all her friends at the tower will hear of it...oh the shame of it.
As if anyone here should not have been able to predict this was going to happen. Fool Sedai...They likely have no clue how much more harm they will do here then good.
Rennar gives Demonder a quieted look at his comment, and says nothing in response to his words. Instead, she rises from her seat, placing her napkin on the table. She glances briefly at those still seated, nods hastily to them, then starts to make her way for the door once more.
Demonder follows Rennar, much in the same manner, as he heads for the door.
Kahlil tries to catch the attention of someone on the other side of the guard.
The servents continue to serve the food to the guests, skillfully moving the platters of food among the guests. When the head table is served, Rio gazes into the platter of meat and sighs yet again. "And what happened to my vegatarian meal? The one that I had ordered specially for me?" She doesn't take any of the offered food. Instead she looks at the captain-general. "Oh...what is the use...perhaps we should let them in?" Rio is not pleased, not at all.
Kellian goes with Theowyn to the door to the Dining Hall.
It may not be Darya who'm Kahlil is trying to catch the attention of, but he does so marvelously and she just stares at him.
Einone motions for the beef but seruptitiously watches the goings on more than the food
Rennar continues to move toward the exit. She pauses briefly, eyeing the children of the Light, then continues to move through the doors, without so much as a good evening for Theowyn.
Theowyn stops a few feet away from Emrich and Lorewyr. He waits for Kellian to step to his side, before addressing the Children of the Light in a tone that would be of volume quiet enough for only those around the door to hear. "Lord Captain Commander. Forgive my surprise as your attempted entrance, if that is indeed your intention?"
Sev cheerfully helps himself to he beef dish as well.
Darya licks her lips as she watches people eat.
Demonder does actually spare a nod to the Prince, and then to Emrich. The ties of House Roesone to the Children are well known, after-all. He heads out through the door.
Sev spares a glance around the room as he does so,
