| Summary: | On her way home from the outdoor market, Rennar stops by the Rose and Lion to speak to Mistress Juli, one of the workers of the Inn. When there, she confronts Lord Daric Roesone in an attempt to stop him from heading into treasonous territory with things he's deigned to speak to the crowd within the common room of the Inn. |
Heartsblush Square: New City, Caemlyn
Heartsblush Square is named for the small red blossoms that line the small grassy knoll in the center of a large intersection of streets, some large, others small. All manner of buildings, blacksmith forges, stables, taverns and inns, line the neatly-manicured streets. The motley assortment of colors and building materials draws your eyes in many directions at once.
The lights from inns and taverns spill out onto the road, making you wish you were at your journey's end. The chilly wind of fall snatches at your clothing, bringing a taste of winter that is not far off. The crossroads branch off to the north, south, east and west. Rose Terrace heads off to the north, further into Caemlyn. To the west, a prominent alley, Ferret Run leads out of the city, and to the east, White Lion Way slopes further into the magnificent capital of Andor.
Aeton, Alcoran, Reynard
Borric exits the Origan Gate from the south, leaving the Inner City.
Reynard is leaning against the wall of the smithy's stable and watching Alcoran and Aeton.
Passing through the streets, and on her way to the Common Room, is Lady Rennar Hune. With her is a single man who acts as her guardsman, Sorenis. She nods in passing to those who greet her, a smile warmly forming on her features.
Aeton says "Alc...Alc...Bloody ashes and more ashes..." He starts after the youth, placing a heavy hand on the young man's shoulder and trying to spin him around. "I don't think you're flaming insane, Alcoran, if you'll just stop for a moment!"
Borric slowly walks through the Origan Gate, looking straight in the direction of his destination, the Inn.
Alcoran whirls on Aeton, looking up at him with a scowl. "That's what you seemd to be suggesting. What -are- you saying, Aeton?" His fists ball up, tense,.
You wander down the path, entering the stable yard of the inn.
StableYard: Rose and Lion Inn, Caemlyn
A wide, lightly paved path of stones leads in a small circle from the road, to the barn, to the inn. A large area in front of the barn is cleared out for those that would be leave their wagons or carriages outside. There are several places to tie lone horses, if a rider just came in.
Lamps are lighted to provide illumination during the evening hours. As the sun sets a steady stream of people can be seen entering the inn, perhaps for a meal. Stable attendants stand ready in case any may ride in, to care for the horses. A light breeze billows around the area, not too hot yet not too cold. All around trees appear to be losing their leaves, bringing telltale signs of the season's change. A few steps lead up to a small door, opening into the large building before you which can only be the inn. A large sliding door can be seen opening up into the stables. If you follow the path, you will find yourself back on Caemlyn Road.
You push through the stout wooden door of the Rose and Lion, and enter into the sounds of people laughing and the scents of freshly baked bread and roasting meat.
Common Room: Rose and Lion Inn, Caemlyn
The common room of The Rose and Lion is a merry place. The patrons here appear happy, and sit at stout wooden tables, or at the long bar, in groups of twos or threes. There is much drinking, talking and laughing.
The crowd is large tonight, and laughter and chatter fills the common room to the rafters. A few of the patrons are enjoying mugs of steaming tea, warming hands cold from the pre-winter chill. A small blaze is laid upon the stout flagstone hearth, adding warmth to the room. A stout wooden door leads back out to the busy Caemlyn Road, a smaller wooden door leads to the stables, and a well-worn staircase leads up to the private bedchambers and common sleeping areas.
Dashel, Ramon, Adon, Caenna, Gu'drun, Aeliss, Daric, Jzuric, Marith, Katsi, Kerynthia, Brannon, Althea
"Welcome to the Rose and Lion, the finest inn in Caemlyn. What can I get you? Ramon looks at the current trouble, and then nods, smiling slightly, "It seems so," he says, adding, "A quite interresting place, I think." He quietly orders something from the serving woman who arrives, before he looks up at Daric's words, shaking his head slowly.
Dashel slowly decides to move over to the table in the corner.
Blinking his eyes clear for a moment, Daric turns towards Adon, looking the warder from head to toe. "I don't see a red coat on you, darkfriend." the lordling says. "You hold no writ here in Andor, and you would do well to remember that. Listen to your witch, at least they have more brains than ten of you. You shall speak not to one of Ishara's blood in such a tone, you impertinent man. Desist!"
Aeliss shakes her head sadly at Daric's words, now gathering her cloak about her, and withdrawing in backward steps from his immediate vicinity, her eyes going to Adon, judging what he will do at this outburst. Oh, well. She -tried-.
The frown on Althea's lips deepens and she too follows Caenna in rising to her feet, though makes no move or steps in any direction. "Gu'drun," she says, not looking at the Novice, "Behind me, now."
Stepping through the doors of the common room is a young woman dressed in a crushed, velvety red dress. Behind her is a single man which bears the markings of House Hune. "We shall be but a moment, Sorenis, I promise." The young Lady Hune speaks to her guardsman as she enters through the door. "I promised Demon-" Her words abruptly cut off as she hears a portion of Daric's display, eyes widening just a touch.
Gu'drun scurries behind Althea quickly
Dashel sits down at Corner Table.
"You speak treason of your Queen." Adon bites out, his manner dark and voice cold like winter. "I would suggest you cease and desist, Lord, lest you find that bluster brings misfortune upon you. I have fought beside men who fell to defend the privileges you so openly flout, Lord. You would prove yourself wise to hold your tongue and let your brain catch up with it."
Brannon follows shortly behind Althea at getting to his feet, watching the scene carefully.
Adon says "I have slain Darkfriends who have mouthed your foul words. Cease and desist."
Borric enters The Rose and Lion, looking around the common room.
Althea remains standing with herself pitted between the Novice and the potential fight between Adon and Daric. No real direct threat, but Althea is an overprotective Asst Mistress of Novices.
Katsi frowns slightly as she catches sight of the girl scurrying behind the Aes Sedai. If she did not know better she would say it looked like a line of attack. She looks to Ramon worriedly, murmuring something about "foolish nobles..trouble..jealousy..and..Aes Sedai"
Borric slowly opens the door and moves into the Common Room, slowly looking around the room, freezing halfway as he sees the commotion.
standing behind Althea Sedai, Gu' peers through the twin glow from the source, eminating from the two Aes Sedai, though invisible to most, her training in the tower has allowed her to see.... her eyes shine as she looks upon them, although she is able to embrace the source, she knows much better than to even attempt to do so.....
Jzuric takes one last BIG swig of mead before cursing under his breath and standing from his table.
Ramon smiles to Katsi, and then shrugs, "Like I said, an interresting place. It happens things all the time."
Caenna says clearly, "Adon, sit down, or I will sit you down." She is staring at Daric though, eyes intent."
"Are you deaf, top-knot? You hold no writ here." Daric says in a cold voice, seemingly not impressed by Adon's speech, yet his gloved hands shake slightly in seems like fear. "How dare you even /think/ to reprimand a lord of the realm! I say what I like, without reference to big boys just off their Aes Sedai's apron strings."
Aeliss continues to gracefully withdraw by increments, taking small steps backward so that she can still keep on eye on the wrothful Roesone lordling and the Warder. She finally stops near the door, in its general vicinity.
Dashel seemingly tries to hide more in the corner, moving as far into it as he can, looking at the commotion in quick glances.
Adon's hand falls upon his sword hilt, his stance promising death, air that of a predator just before the kill.
"Lord Daric, I trust there is a reason for such a public outburst?" Rennar's voice comes through the room in a rather cool manner. Tilting her head to the side, she steps further into the Inn, all the while with Sorenis protesting from behind. "The Aes Sedai and Gaidin are guests of Andor and should be treated so accordingly, or do you now hold command over the Queen's Writ and Aislynn's reign?" A curious touch enters her eyes. She thinks nothing of having said the Queen's name so informally.
The young House Hune Bard seems to relax visibly as her Patroness' voice rings out over the madness of the crowd.
Jzuric weaves slowly in amongst the tables, eyes intent on the fingers attatched the hand on the arm of the warder with the look of death on his face.
Althea looks curiously in the direction of the Heir-Apparent. She smiles approvingly, but does not let loose of her grasp on Saidar.
Caenna raises a hand slightly as Adon's hand touches his sword, and a second later, unseen weaves are wrapped around him, yanking him bodily back into his chair.
Adon is yanked back into his seat by the One Power, expression blank... but still speaking volumes about his current state, his hand locked on the hilt of his blade.
Jzuric starts at the warder being yanked down into his seat by nothing apparent...that is under he glances at the concentrated look on the Aes Sedai's face beside him. he grimaces, gulps visably when he realizes she is channeling and then makes towards the bar, as if that was his original destination, "Refill please...." he chantsto the wide eyed man behind the bar.
As Dashel sees Adon being yanked seemingly by the air itself, he freezes in his chair, looking down, quickly. He appears to be bery nervous.
with a slight shake of her head Gu'drun seems to get over the wonder of the source and seems to finally realize the gravity of the situation... she looks from Caenna to Althea and then back to Caenna and she smiles in understand but retreats further back into the corner behind Althea....
Caenna folds her arms, informing Adon detachedly, "I said, sit down."
Aeliss now follows gracefully upon Rennar's heels. She mutters to Rennar, "I tried... talk... my... He..."
You sense Aeliss now follows gracefully upon Rennar's heels. "I tried to talk him out of it, my Lady. He could not be swayed, though."
All at once, Daric's anger seems to miraculously evaporate at the sound of the Duchess' voice. "Lady Rennar." he says, bowing his head respectfully. "Forgive me, I did not see you enter. This insolent man falsely accuses me of treasonous thought to the Queen you did just mention." he says. "For the life of me, I cannot remember once uttering the name of Andor's Queen, or having mentioned the Queen's name for the past four days."
The Ogier rises from her seat, towering easily over everyone wihtin the room. "If you will pardon me, Aes Sedai, Gaidin." She speaks to each 'group' respectively, "I think now would be the best time for me to return to the Palace. I think I have seen enough." A frown does form on the Eldest's lips, "Perhaps Eldest Kamala, light shine upon her soul, was right about you humans." She shakes her head from side to side, a saddened expression coming to her features; almost as though a dream, or hope has been lost. She nods her head to those she departs from, then makes her own way to the door. SOme of the patrons part away from her path, allowing her easier passage through the room.
Althea frowns a bit, averting her gaze from the weaves that sit Adon back in his seat, and turns her attention pointedly to Daric and Rennar.
Katsi nearly chokes on the juice she was drinking when she caught sight of the Warder almost flying to his seat, she puts her glass down and makes a very conscious effort to look back at Ramon.
Aeliss drops a graceful curtsey, though in a distracted manner, as the Ogier makes her way out of the room. She seems unperturbed by the sight of the tall woman Ogier, perhaps having seen their like before.
Althea dips her head respectfully to Marith in departure, "Light Shine, Eldest."
Caenna murmurs, "Perhaps she was, Builder. And perhps not."
Brannon bows slightly to Marith as she departs, "Light Shine, Eldest."
Gu'drun watches the Ogier go and her smile changes to a Frown..... she so wanted to meet one, and the Eldest! she dips in a low curtsy anyway, though she had hardly been noticed, out of her respect.. the respect she has gained through her studies at the Tower.....
Borric still stands near the door, shrugging to himself. He seems to be looking right out into the room, although one hand goes to rest near his belt, just in case. It still seems that some habits from his years of travelling are there still.
Marith pushes through the wooden door and heads back out to the stableyard.
Jzuric is served his mug of mead, and almost downs it in one swig....the image of the warder running him through still foremost in his brain.
Kerynthia comes down the creaking stairs, and enters the common room.
Kerynthia sits down at Window Table.
Adon bows his head a bit to the departing Ogier, the intensity unabated.
Ramon smiles to Katsi, "It seems that the trouble ended quickly," he says as the serving woman arrives with his order, cool water.
Gently, Rennar reaches out a hand to pat Aeliss on the shoulder, "I am certain you did your best, Aeliss." A warm smile graces the woman's lips, meant for her Bard, but passes after a brief moment when Daric's voice returns her address. Delicately, the Daughter-heir lifts a brow in response to the Roesone Lord's words. "Was there reason or implication given to suggest such?" She asks in a calm and cool manner. "I find it hard to believe that one would accuse a Lord of such unless there were some sort of implication otherwise. Why would the man dare risk to accuse one of the noble born of such otherwise?" There is no accusation within the Duchess's voice, simply curiousity. Lowering her hand from Aeliss's shoulder, she conciously smoothes over the skirts found in her dress. Seeing that his pleas to get Rennar out of the room are going unheard, Sorenis merely takes up a position behind Rennar and to the right, watching others in a careful manner.
Katsi grins, "Light willing,", she turns to the woman and motions for er to take her half uneaten meat pie away.
Ramon shrugs slightly, "It could have been interresting to see if the situation would have solved itself," he remarks.
Caenna says "Althea, if you will excuse me - I think Adon and I should return to the house." She glances at Adon with a frown, checking if he has calmed any."
Kismet enters The Rose and Lion, looking around the common room.
Katsi laughs softly at that, "It would have I guess but I got a bit nervous for some reason, I am glad nobody is hurt though,"
Kismet blinks as she enters the crowded Inn, her harpcase slung over her shoulder. Her bangles jingle as she takes a few steps, eyes adjusting to the light, looking for a seat.
Dashel still stares out into the room, forgetting to keep his eyes out of sight, a bit of fear on his features.
Kerynthia returns down the stairs carrying an infant a few moments after leaving due to the signal of a maid. Seeming almost disappointed she missed a fight, she heads back to her seat at the window table.
Borric slowly walks to the side of the door, letting others come inside, before he shrugs to himself.
Althea eyes Rennar and Daric curiously still, then turns and nods to Caenna, "Of course, Sister." She nods to Adon, with a worried look, "Peace favour your sword, Adon Gaidin." There is emphasis in the words now, and then nodding to Caenna again, "Light Protect, Sister." She gathers her skirts a bit, and resumes her seat, gesturing that Gu'drun may join her at her table if the Novice wishes.
"I know not why, duchess." Daric murmurs. "I feel often my comments are deliberately misinterpreted in order to facilitate violence for other reasons." He glances at Aeliss once, then turns back towards Rennar. "I am somewhat wary of warders, my lady, having been the victim of one Sev Hune's sword once already."
Gu'drun stands in the corner of the common and looks.... natural, patiently waiting quietly and wondering if she should just return to her seat or stay behind Althea.... as she had been told to do... she turns and automatically curtsies at the retreating Aes Sedai and her Gaidin and smiles.
Brannon gives Caenna and Adon a nod, "Peace favor you both." He returns to his seat, watching Daric quietly.
Adon's eyes rest on Daric still, saying nothing.
Caenna says "We will talk another time, before you leave, I hope. Light guide, sister." She looks to Adon, draws him more gently to his feet. "We're leaving now, Gaidin.""
Adon says "Yes, Aes Sedai."
A thoughtful expression passes over Rennar's features, "I had not heard of my Cousin's mishaps. I do know that he is rather young and brash, and eager to do his job." This causes the Lady to frown a bit, "Allow me to apologize on the behalf of Sev, however I would ask that you not judge all Gaidin by the actions of my cousin." There's a faint pause within Rennar's voice before she further adds, "As I do not judge all Children of the Light the same." She seems to give her last set of words some emphasis.
Nigel comes down the creaking stairs, and enters the common room.
Nigel pushes through the wooden door and heads back out to the stableyard.
Jzuric turns his head from the bar, looking the girl up and down then taking another swig of mead.
Kismet eyes' flicker as she sees Caenna Sedai. She nods to her briefly, before turning her attention to Daric. Her eyes darken. Smoothly, she glides to a table, taking a seat.
Borric nods gravely as he hears Rennar's words.
"I do not doubt this in the least, my lady." Daric says, smoothing down his coat self-consciously. "It is unfortunate that the Tower persists in sending rather violent men and women south here. I am told some twenty Children died rather horrible deaths at the hands of a party of Aes Sedai, while not one Tower woman or man was even scratched. You would recall when my lord Theowyn subsequently led the Queen's Guards against the Children."
Jzuric thinks for a second, frowns, then turns to the man that the comment was made to...Daric. His mind ponders the man for a second.
Ramon looks towards Daric, shrugging slightly.
Caenna hlances at Althea as she heads out. "Give themn the truth, sister."
Caenna pushes through the wooden door and heads back out to the stableyard.
Adon leaves with Caenna.
Adon enters The Rose and Lion, looking around the common room.
Dashel sits in his corner, still tensing visibly.
"Vaguely, Lord Daric, as that was during a grave time of strife for myself and my House, what with my kidnapping, and my sister's disappearance and discovery of her turning to the Dark." Rennar speaks in a rather frank manner. It is no secret about Calisa, nor does Rennar keep it such. "You will understand that I was not quite involved in happenings in Andor at that time."
Cold anger gone from Adon's frame, the Warder merely watches Daric with the same quiet intensity he's displayed throughout. No bluster, no bravado. Just death in cold hazel eyes.
Adon pushes through the wooden door and heads back out to the stableyard.
Gu'drun turns and steps back toward the corner table where she had been sitting but sees that is it now occupied and stops to gaze round, lifting a slim finger to press against her lower lip. Seeing the Small Table near the stairs is empty she head smoothly for it hoping that Althea did not intend for her to stand there all night and waves at one of the waiters and smiles.
Katsi frowns at what she hears of the man's words, looks like there might be some more trouble.
Gu'drun sits down at Small Table near stairs.
Ramon looks around, slowly and then murmuring something under his breath.
Althea seems absorbed in thought, gestering absently to a passing server for some tea. She's had one goblet of mulled wine, and if she needs to Channel, she will need to have her wits. So tea it is. Her attention suddenly swivels to Daric's words and she narrows her gaze dangerously, pursing her lips. She gives an audible sniff at that. "Perhaps if they had used the good sense their mothers must have given them they'd not have provoked the incident which lead to their slaughter." She adds a moment later, "Were you there, Lord Daric? No I should say not, but I was." Her eyes cold and challenging upon Daric, "You will refrain from commenting on that which you demonstrate obvious ignorance.";
Gu'drun stands and leaves Small Table near stairs.
Jzuric walks back to his table, half empty mug in hand. He glances once more at Daric, curiosity gotten the better of him. He reaches his table and sits back down with a releaved sigh.
Gu'drun sits down at Long Table near door.
Daric nods slowly, eyeing Adon briefly as he leaves, then speaking again to Rennar. "You have my condolences now as much as I did express them then, duchess." the lordling says evenly. "It was my opinion that the 'king' Renford should have been tried and executed rather..." He trails off as Althea speaks, then looks at Rennar for direction.
Borric leans slightly towards the wall, eyes not leaving Rennar and Daric. He raises an eyebrow as he hears Althea's words, as he hasn't heard too much of this before.
Althea seeks calm within the warm and sweet fold of Saidar, for those who are able to sense or see the Embrace.
Kismet orders tea and a vegetable platter, ignoring the words emanating from the Whitecloak Roesone. Indeed, if she could forget the man were alive she would be pleased indeed.
The mere mention of Renford causes the Duchess of Hune to narrow her eyes. Calmly, she keeps control of any emotions she might have on that situation, "Unfortunately, Lord Roesone..." Rennar resorts to a more formal addressing, perhaps an attempt at keeping his attention on herself, rather than the Aes Sedai in the room, "what proof we had could be no more determined to be true than the proof he brought regarding his own claims upon House Errene. It all could have been manufactured." This admission causes a small frown to tug at Rennar's lips, but it doesn't take long to smooth away. "Without conclusive proof, the Queen's hands were tied."
Gu'drun pulls out a chair and takes a seat next to Althea at the long table... she seems to be very proud at the oppertunity to set next to her. Placing her hands together on the table she attempts to give the impression of Dignity and confidence she feels around the Aes Sedai in the Tower and Althea in particular..... she takes a breath and holds it as the glow of Saidar surrounds Althea.....
Still tensing a bit, Dashel slowly, and with an effort, turns his head away, looking at the bar, slowly.
Brannon shakes his head and leans to speak quietly with Althea, He mutters to Long Table near door, "... you do anything... only fuel his argument."
"Nonsense! A trial by a coucil of peers would have found him guilty. Anyone could see the blood all over the man's hands. Did not his predecessor want aid for his 'slaughter of innocents'?" Daric says, gesturing expansively with his hands. "It certainly does not help that the White Tower promptly sent a party of their Aes Sedai and soldiers to assist him. This was the story I have heard from Tar Valon, that a group of wi... Aes Sedai were to be sent to Murandy, yes?"
Kerynthia comes down the creaking stairs, and enters the common room.
Kerynthia sits down at Window Table.
Aeliss enters The Rose and Lion, looking around the common room.
Ramon looks at Daric, slowly, seemingly unsure of what else to do.
Borric shrugs slightly, and shakes his head to himself.
Althea doesn't look at her Bondmate has he attempts to calm her from doing anything . . . impetuous. Folding her arms over her chest Althea continues to hold a narrow, challenging gaze upon Daric, lips pursed in anger fuelled by the memory of that attack on her party so long ago. The attack that Daric was referring to. She maintains her hold on the Source, allowing the sweetness to fill her with the calm required for the reserve in the situation. The question was not directed to her, and though she does know the answer, does not respond to Daric's query.
Katsi nods politely to the woman who has entered and turns back to Ramon before her attention happens to focus on the Aes Sedai at the end of the room, looks like more trouble..
Aeliss simply continues to stand behind her worthy Patroness, remaining quiet for the nonce, though watching the proceedings with her keen, gray eyes.
Kismet fidgets in her chair, waiting for her order. Of course that is the only reason for her discomfit.
Dashel looks down, slowly, still visibly tensing.
"And would have have surely started nothing less than war between our two nations; war that is almost imminent with the loss of Queen Sydelle to Murandy." Rennar calmly states, allowing her emotions to cool on this subject some. "And, where I was the most personally involved in the actions this King Renford took, I have come to understand the reasonings behind the Queen's decisions. But, now is neither the time nor the place to bandy words about Renford, nor is it appropriate. Your words are best left for the Nobles' council, Lord Daric, when it next convenes." There is a pause in words, "The Tower sent Aes Sedai to Murandy and Andor both, from the murmurings and whisperings that I have heard at court. I may have family within the Tower, a goodly deal of them, but I am not privy to their knowledge."
Dashel looks even further down at all of the mentions about Murandy. He seems a bit shaken by all of those troubles between Andor and his native country.
Katsi sighs rather dramatically at all this mention of nobles and news, she knows nothing of either really. She turns to Ramon and smiles slightly, "Have you been to the Library yet?"
Ramon shakes his head, slowly, "I'm afraid I haven't," he says, "At least not this time."
"Where Aes Sedai go, they profess to 'help and assist'." Daric says, pointedly ignoring Althea nor even giving her a response to her account of the battle. "None should assist Renford at all. By that virtue, the Aes Sedai and their soldiers should be restricted to no more than twelve within the city at any time, as is the case for the Children and other foriegn powers."
Borric still stands near the door, looking around, slowly.
Althea manages to be schooling her features calm once more, the glow about her form flickers out of sight and sense for those with the ability to know. She begins stirring her tea absently almost before the server even places it on the table. A moment later, she regards Gu'drun with a contemplative look.
Katsi nods, "I went a few days back with Marielle Sedai, it was the first I have ever been too and I think she thought I was some kind of fool, I did nothing but gawk at it. I used to think Master Fuji had a lot of books but he didn't even have as many as was on one shelf.", she is very enthused about the Library and it shows.
Ramon nods, slowly, "Libraries always have been interresting places," he says.
Kismet's food arrives, and she accepts it gratefully, settling to eat. Thus absorbed, she concentrates on -not- hearing the conversations swirling about her. She muses instead on her upcoming wedding to Lord Deleamar.
Gu'drun takes a little gasp as the glow about Althea grows... more intense? though she has only started her training she seems to understand..... and looks up and smiles, not knowing what, if anything she could do to help......
Tilting her head to the side, Rennar watches Daric with quiet, emerald eyes. "I cannot speak for the Tower and its policies, as I said before Lord Roesone. I am but a person who has family deeply entrenched within. A facility whose views and expressions I support, which you are well aware." There's a faint pause as she further considers matters, "I also cannot profess to tell the Queen how to run her nation, nor would I. I suggest if you have concerns about how she governs Andor that you speak to her in a less public setting about these matters. I have found Aislynn to be a rather agreeable person if you present yourself in an agreeable manner."
Katsi grins and calls a serving girl back over
There is a slight coughing sound behind Rennar; Sorenis stepping forward, "Pardon, my Lady, but you promised to be back at the manor at a certain hour, and that time is growing near." He looks vaguely uncomfortable at reminding Rennar of her earlier promise to her husband, "He may send Lady Cende after you, should you not return."
Nodding sagely, Daric bows his head again towards Rennar. "If you speak for allowing the White Tower full unfettered access to all Andor and its resources without restriction, I will not presume to lecture a duchess, my lady." he says, his voice carefully kept to an even pitch. "If you must leave, then I bid you walk within the Light, duchess."
Aeliss lightly steps out of the Lady Rennar's way, as she presumes she will soon be leaving. She drops a gracious curtsey to her Patroness, murmuring quietly, "Good even, my Lady."
Katsi nods politely at the serving girl, "I'll have another juice please", she then scans the room again before focusing back on Ramon, "I think I am progressing at my riding, I didn't even fall off once yesterday", she smiles as she says this scanning the room once more.
Althea lifts the teacup to her lips and sips gingerly, She mutters to Long Table near door, "How... your stay, Gu'drun? Have you... the Arboretum?" A knowing smile crosses her lips and she looks askance to her Bondmate, then back to the Novice.
A bit of a wry smirk comes to Rennar's lips at Sorenis's reminder, "Aye, I remember, Sorenis." She turns her eyes to her guardsman, then blinks faintly. Her eyes light up at something remembered. Before she addresses her remembered thought, she hastily nods to Daric, "Light shine upon you, Lord Roesone..." With that said she turns more fully to her Bard.
Dashel still just sits at the corner table, looking down, his whole small body tensing visibly.
Brannon returns Althea's knowing smile with a wry grin. He shakes his head with a soft chuckle.
Aeliss rises from her graceful curtsey, waiting patiently for her Patroness' words.
Gu'drun turns quickly to Althea Sedai and listens to her intently the ducks her head, half closing her eyes as she speaks quietly.....
Rennar gives Sorenis a warmer smile as she addresses Aeliss, She mutters to Aeliss, "... Demonder has... watch after... love of... of... She... you... the..." She pauses a moment, her eyes dancing about in a mischievious manner, "She means to win him back."
Aeliss senses "Rennar gives Sorenis a warmer smile as she addresses Aeliss, "My lord Demonder has hired a guardswoman to watch after me. She... is a former love of the First Prince of the Sword. She may have use of your... skill with the Sa'sara and may come seeking you out to learn the dance." She pauses a moment, her eyes dancing about in a mischievious manner, "She means to win him back.""
Borric moves upwards from his place near the door, where he has been leaning towards the wall, and slowly moves over to the bar.
Daric sidesteps around Rennar and Aeliss, straightening his coat with a sharp tug he walks outside.
Daric pushes through the wooden door and heads back out to the stableyard.
Aeliss inclines her head to Rennar, "Of course, my Lady." She smiles broadly. "It will be my pleasure." She looks after Daric, and shrugs. "My quarry flees....The Light illumine you, Lady..."
Aeliss pushes through the wooden door and heads back out to the stableyard.
Kismet sips her tea, her dark eyes watching the others in the room over the rim of the teacup.
