Summary:Tragic news strikes. Demonder receives word that Master Kael Vocer was murdered within Tar Valon, and that his wife Maudine will soon be arriving in Andor. Both Rennar and Demonder have decided to put aside their differences with the family, who had taken in Calisa after she was tried and convicted of being a darkfriend in the courts of Andor, and forgive them of their past transgressions in light of the recent news.

Sitting Room: Rennar's Apartments, Tiras Lorn

This is the outer chamber to Rennar's rooms. It resembles a small sitting room and appears to be lavishly decorated in antique hardwood furniture, with a traditional red velvet covering any of the upholstery. There is a large bay window, with a window seat, that looks out onto the streets of Caemlyn; a small flowering plant hangs in the window, catching the sun's rays. There is a loveseat, settee and small table in the room for those who might care to sit down and rest.

There are two doors in this room, both are sturdy and made of a dark-stained, heavy oak wood; one leads into a private bedchamber and the other leads back out into the hallway.

Demonder seeks out his wife's voice, turning to her. He's confused, at least a touch, and perhaps shaken. "Kael was murdered in Tar Valon..." Demonder states quietly, standing in his spot near the door. "And I am not sure how to feal. He betrayed us long ago. And still..."

That concern only grows upon Rennar's features. She rises from her chair in a single, smooth motion and makes her way to her husband's side. Gently, she lays a hand on his shoulder, squeezing it comfortingly. "Sorrow, love. You should feel sorrow. He may have betrayed us, but he was in a large part of your life, was he not?"

"He was for those years," Demonder agrees, looking up from the letter to find his wife. "Maudine, his wife, is coming with his two children. I suppose House Roesone will put them to their care." Demonder's deep breath comes at the touch of her hand on his shoulder, his eyes warmly looking for her. Hurt shows as well, but that confusion is unmistakable. With an outstretched arm he places down the letter on a table nearby, and then simply takes Rennar into a much needed embrace.

Gently, ever so gently, does Rennar place her arms about her husband, giving him that required embrace. "Were you two close?" She asks in a quieted voice, not breaking the mood overmuch with her words.

"We were close, yes," Demonder confirms with a slight shake of his head. "I've dealt with trying to understand why he would do what he did. But before that, we were tight for a few years. Then he got married and went to Tar Valon. Even on his return it was good to go out drinking with him. Now this, murdered no less. I don't know, love..."

That gentle hug turns more comforting with the passing moments. She lifts a single hand to run her fingers through his hair. "You will be fine, my love." Rennar murmurs quietly, taking a single step back to look at Demonder. She lowers her hand to his chin, lifting it slightly. "You are strong. It may take a while...."

That alone has a hint of a smile showing. "It will be difficult to see his wife. I don't know what to do or say." Demonder's concern continues to show, though his manner brightens a hint. "And his children..." Demonder steps away as well, though for the need to move. The hurt of betrayal shows on his features. "It'll tkae a while," he finally agrees.

"If she knows you, be yourself. She'll appreciate that more, perhaps, than expressing your sympathy all the time. You may do it once, but to do so more..." Rennar shakes her head, pressing her lips together briefly, "It just serves as a bad reminder. It is sometimes good to talk of the past, to ease your pain." She lifts her hadn from Demonder's chin to gently scroke at his cheek.

Demonder captures Rennar's hand in one of his, leading her toward the Sette with a few urging pulls. "That is what I will do then, to speak about the past. I did not know him well beyond our time spent at the common rooms, and even then we were rather intoxicated by the end of the night. Still, that forms bonds between men, even if rather silly..."

Rennar smiles faintly, leaning her head against Demonder's shoulder. "Remembering is always a good thing. I try to remember the good times I've had with my father." So experienced is she in the pains of losing a loved one. A light sigh escapse her lips. She settles one hand on her lap, and allows Demonder to keep the other.

Demonder settles her hand in his lap, then takes it with the other hand while the arm closer to her moves about her shoulder to hug her closer to him. "I will need to speak with Paedrig, to insure the children are taken care for. I'm sure positions could be offered to them that will give them a new home at the vineyards. I am glad Maudine was clear that only two of his children would be coming, and not his third adopted one."

Rennar will be a touch more idlish. Neri got 'volunteered' to go down first. :)

Rennar smirks. "They can keep Tebrya, for all she's worth." Her mood sours slightly, but it quickly passes. "If they will not be taken care of by House Roesone, perhaps we can find something for them here within House Hune. I have no issue with his children."

Demonder's green eyes take focus on Rennar, or at least try to. He leaves her hand where it is, and instead reaches to lightly stroke his fingers against her chin. "Thank-you for the offer, love," he whispers, that tone needy for her. "I will miss Kael, I will certainly miss the times we had gone out drinking and simply enjoyed ourselves at the expense of ale and a game of dice. Dane isn't around as much, and so there are fewer opportunities to go out. Perhaps now with my brother's return, I will have some of that." Demonder reaches for the lightest of kisses, "Then again, I do not have the needs for spending coins in the common room, not with a beautiful wife within my bed at nights."

Rennar chuckles lightly, her eyes coming to rest on her husband, "Love, I wouldn't restrict what you enjoy simply because you are married. You have needs too, and something tells me you need an escape from here from time to time. I'm fine with that."

"Indeed you are, though you can't help it if I wish to be with you much of the time, could you?" Demonder counters with a light smile forming on his lips. "No more then I could help wishing to be with you. Even in the days when Kael did visit, I found myself yearning for home, and for your company. And that was far before our more 'official' wedding." There is meaning in that, of course, as Demonder teases on.
