Summary:Borric and Kyriele have decided to approach Lady Rennar and ask for their permission to wed. Not knowing hte reason for the joint visit, Rennar invites them both to an early morning breakfast. After agreeing to the nuptials, with some mitigating requirements, Rennar later tells Borric about a mysterious gift which she's received recently.

Courtyard Gardens: Tiras Lorn, Caemlyn

Large white stone surrounds the courtyard of House Hune. Set into the western wall is the gate, leading out of the manor. The manor house itself lies to the east. A large marble portico runs down the middle of the courtyard in a north/south direction, effectively dividing the large yard in half. It is large enough to hold several wagons, and contains the stables in the northwest corner. The half of the yard closest to the manor house is contained by the portico which runs along the courtyard walls as well, and connect to the house. This creates a covered walkway to protect you from the elements; shade from the sun, and a roof to keep off rain and snow. The ground here is paved with stone, with only a few weeds growing up here and there. In the center of the paved area is a square flower garden.

Kyriele pulls open the gate and comes in from the path.

Borric pulls open the gate and comes in from the path.

An unusual sight, at least this autumnal morning, presents Lady Rennar upon her knees working within one of the gardens within the courtyard. It seems she is planting a floral plant with hues and colors that commemorate this exact season, soft yellows, golds and burnished reds lingering upon its petals.

The Gates opens, and Borric enters the Courtyard, together with Kyriele. They appear to be talking with each other about something.

Rennar humms to herself as she works, oblivious at first at Borric and Kyriele arriving. "Genette, what do you suppose I do about Demonder and his now infamous stomach?" The elderly woman, so prized within House Hune, is sitting nearby, helping the Lady Rennar plant the bushes and flowers. She is as much a mother to Rennar as Lady Sati was, and is to other members of the House as well. Genette looks up, about to answer, then pauses, giving a small cough to signal the arrival of others.

Kyriele looks ever so slightly ill at ease, and she keeps her eyes mostly on Borric to the point where she almost, but not quite, does not see anyone else.

Borric smiles to Kyriele, "Everything is all right, isn't it?" He then looks around slowly. He then says, after a little pause, "May the Light grace your paths, Lady Rennar..."

Having taken the signal from Genette, Rennar wipes her hands on a small wetted towel, brought out for the purpose of greeting others if so needed. She looks up to Kyriele and Borric, still seated upon the ground, and smiles a touch. Kyriele she recognizes only marginally, having only seen her once ore twice. "Good morning, cousin. Light shine upon you." She greets in a warmed manner, with noting to suggest any other overtones she may be feeling. "Lady Roesone." She also adds to her greeting, though seems a bit uncertain of Kyriele's first name, using her surname instead.

"Light illumine, Lady Rennar," Kyriele returns, curtseying. She does look somewhat less ill at ease, though one might wonder why she was in the first place.

Borric looks between Rennar and Kyriele, and then back to Rennar, "May I introduce Lady Kyriele?" he asks, smiling.

Rennar inclines her head to Kyriele, that smile warming a touch. "A pleasure to meet you, Lady Kyriele. Welcome to Tiras Lorn." With that she easily and fluidly rises to her feet.

"It is an honour to meet you, Lady Rennar," is Kyriele's reply, but there is a thoughtful expression on her face now, though it could be because of anything at all.

Emerald eyes turn their gaze upon Borric. Rennar studies her cousin a few brief moments, then she comments, "I've noticed you've been spending much of your time away from Tiras Lorn. What have you been doing with yourself of late, Borric?" This, she asks, with a curious expression moving to Kyriele. Could it be, perhaps, that she has her own suspicions? Men can be quite predictable, afterall.

Borric looks around, slowly, "Various things," he replies noncommitially, before he looks at Kyriele, smiling to her.

Kyriele still has that thoughtful expression on her face as she watches Rennar, the result being that she does not appear to notice Borric's smile. And one might certainly wonder just what she is thinking, though her whole demeanour is gentle.

"Would you like to come in and get something to drink, or were you two planning on doing something for the day?" The Lady Rennar casually invites both parties into the House, smoothing over her velvety skirts with a single motion of her hand. She tilts her head to the side, watching Kyriele and Borric in her own curious manner. She keeps her distance, as though not wanting to impede on their planned activities.

Borric looks to Kyriele, and then smiles, again, "I think that would be nice," he replies.

Kyriele nods her silent agreement which gives some hint of her generally quiet manner.

Waiting on the fringes of the conversation, Genette goes into the House first, presumbly to set some sevant to the task of getting drinks together for the members of the House. Rennar nods her head and smiles a touch more, "Then, please, let's this way." With that said and done, she turns toward the manse itself and makes her way to go inside.

Borric nods, and walks alongside Kyriele, smiling to her once more.

Kyriele follows, this time looking at Borric and offering a tentative smile in return before she looks back at Rennar.

You climb the stairs to the main door, and enter the house.

Grand Hall: Tiras Lorn, Caemlyn

This is indeed a Grand Hall. Like the rest of the house, the walls are of white stone and the floor is marble. In the south wall is the fireplace whose companion hearth is in the foyer. A long wooden table stretches almost the length of the hall, with chairs set all around it. At the most eastern end of the hall is a dais with a stone table upon it. This is where the lady of the manor, her family, and honoured guests would sit for meals. The hall itself is two stories tall, and windows in the north wall are at the second story level. A long pole with a hook at its end rests in the corner until it is needed to open or close a window. Large tapestries hang from the walls, to add some colour and feeling to the room. The odor of good food is coming through the door in the southwest corner which leads to the kitchen.

Borric walks through the carved stone archway and joins you in the Grand Hall.

Kyriele walks through the carved stone archway and joins you in the Grand Hall.

Genette finishes speaking with one of the servants just as Lady Rennar and the others enter into the grand hall. She turns and smiles to all present, then disappears within the kitchens, presumably to check on breakfasting arrangements.

Rennar leads the 'couple' into the grand hall. "It shouldn't take long. I suspect Genette will arrange for juices and a few hot drinks, since its still early." Curiously Rennar looks over her shoulder to regard Kyriele, "Do you like tea?"

Kyriele nods at that. "I do, Lady Rennar," she says, quite softly, but she does not add anymore to that, maybe because she is still thinking over one thing or another.

Borric just keeps silent, looking around, once in a while, like he always do.

Rennar nods her head at that, murmuring gently, "Please, have a seat and make yourselves at home." With that she starts across the room. She pauses just at the door into the kitchen, then peeks her head through. There's a slight mumbling which resonates from her, then she ducks back into the room, making her way for the main table. "If you are hungry, breakfast will be ready soon. You are welcome to break your fast here as well." Her tone is inviting, yet unobtrusive.

Kyriele nods slowly, but doesn't say anything this time, instead glances at Borric almost questioningly.

Borric looks back at Kyriele, and then nods. He clears his throat, slowly, "I think that Lady Kyriele and me have something to ask about..." he begins, slowly.

Rennar starts to sit in her own chair, though pauses just as she begins, "Is this something I should be sitting down for, or should I remain standing for?" There is a light jesting to her voice, though a seriousness filters through her emerald eyes. Despite any answer that Borric has, Rennar does indeed continue to sit anyway, already halfway there. Smiling warming, she murmurs in a gentle manner, "Please, go ahead and ask."

Borric nods, slowly, looking at Kyriele, before he says, "We would ask for your permission to get married," he says after a little while.

There is something of a pause as Rennar regards both Kyriele and Borric. "Is this your wish?" The question is directed fully toward Kyriele, a more studious expression coming to her eyes now.

"Yes, Lady Rennar," Kyriele says quietly as she nods, seriousness replacing the previous thoughtfulness.

Rennar nods to herself, asking further, "Do you love him?" An odd question that, particularly coming from the Head of a House. However, there have been no papers passed between Houses for arranging such an engagement, so her expression thusly remains just as studious and serious.

Kyriele nods again. "Yes, I do," is her answer, still soft.

There is an expression of approval that emanates from Rennar. She then, equally as curious to Borric's response, asks him, "And do you love Lady Kyriele, Borric?" From her look of thoughtfulness, it may seem as if her decision will rest a great deal upon her cousin's answer.

Borric nods, without hesitation, "I do," he says.

Kyriele watches Rennar now, mostly, probably waiting for what she will say.

Borric's answer is bet with more approval. Rennar's smile brightens a small bit, "I do not see any problem with approving this arrangement, then." She pauses a moment, glancing between the two. Her expression can be discerened as stern at this particular moment, "Provided you follow Andoran traditions. You must publically announce that you are going to be married, then wait a full year and a day before being wed." There is insistance within her voice. "I will not look favorably upon a rushed wedding, nor one that means to thwart traditions by sullying the other." She could only mean getting Kyriele pregnant.

Borric nods, "That is understood," he says.

There is an understanding nod, then Rennar's expression warms once more. It is at that time that Genette brings out drinks, and a light snack, all around. "Then please, sit and enjoy." She speaks softly, settling in herself after Genette serves her some tea.

Borric smiles as he is served something to drink, and then he takes a sip. "And what have been happening around here, lately?" he asks, after a while.

Rennar takes a moment to consider that question, picking up her mug of tea and holding it in her hands. Happily, she soaks up the warmth the cup provides to her. Tilting her head to the side a touch, she answers, "The usual, really. Bills, taxes, court meetings." She wrinkles her nose at the last, sighing softly. Looking to Borric, a curiousity enters her eyes. "Mysterious gifts arriving at my doorstep."

"Mysterious gifts?" Borric asks, slowly.

Rennar nods her head a touch at Borric's question, "Aye. I received a box with two rings. The servants received the box, and assumed it was for me. No name, nor address was left on the box, nor did the sender leave a note."

"That sounds strange," Borric says, slowly.

Slowly, Rennar nods her head, smirking a touch to herself, "Indeed, it does." She lets out a soft sigh, finally taking a sip of her tea.

Borric looks around the room, carefully. "It seems thn deep water," he remarks, finally.

"Deep water?" Rennar inquires, not quite getting the reference. She takes another sip of her tea, a thoughtful expression coming to her eyes.

Borric sighs, "Nevermind, it seems that I'm not quite awake," he says, slowly.

Rennar slowly nods at Borric, then asks quietly, "What have you been doing with yourself? Aside from courting Lady Kyriele? We hardly see you here."

Borric shrugs slightly, "I've been speaking a lot with certain people around the city," he says, adding, "That is something that has kept from the days I spent on the road."

"ANd have you found any interesting people?" Rennar asks, tilting her head just slightly to the side as she observes Borric. She shifts in her chair just a tad, making herself more comfortable.

"In a city this big, there are always bound to be people with knowledge," Borric replies, adding, "So I think I have met some of them, yes."
