The Queen's Gardens: Royal Palace of Andor, Caemlyn
This circular expanse of garden curves around the backside of the Royal Palace.
Flagstone paths meander off through the lush greenery, through trees and many
flowering shrubs. Trellises with flowered vines crawl up the gleaming white
walls that surround the palace. A white stone courtyard sits at the center of
the gardens, with tall columns circling around it, holding up its golden-tiled
roof.
The sounds of Palace servants going about their nightly chores and the noise of
children laughing and playing in the distance drift over the garden. A fine
sprinkling of pristine snow lies upon the ground, and the water in the redstone
fountain has a thick layer of ice on its surface. A path paved in flagstone
meanders back around the Palace, and a white stone path leads back to the
Courtyard. A white stone staircase curves up near the Palace, leading to a
balcony above.
Ruen enters the Queen's Gardens from the east.
You sit down at Bench near fountain.
Today is Sevenday, 3 Aine, 997 NE. It is a Winter evening.
It appears to be one of the warmer winter days. Rennar Hune is sitting upon the
fountain bench, looking over the pages of a book. A warm woolen cloak, adorned
in fine embroidery rests upon her shoulders, keeping the wintry chill at bay.
She does not notice the comings and goings of those moving about the Queen's
Gardens.
Ruen strolls into the gardens, stifling a yawn. As he sees his employer, the
lady Rennar, he bows deeply, going to one knee, and waits to be acknowledged...
Just at the moment Ruen bows, Rennar seems to look up, a curious expression
lighting in her eyes, "I would not bow so deeping in the Queen's own gardens,
one might think that I were attempting to take Aislynn's position." Her tone is
light and teasing, though it is odd that she speaks of Aislynn so informally,
"Please rise." A blush touches her cheeks.
Ruen gets to his feet, and smiles slightly at his lady's quip. "As you wish, my
lady." he says, his eyes momentarily merry. " His smile fades. "My lady, I come
to report..." he states flatly, his back ram-rod straight.
Rennar's own smile fades as Ruen does, seeing the business-like nature of her
advisor. She looks about the gardens, perhaps searching to see if any are in
listening distance, then motions for Ruen to sit, "Please, sit and relax. We
need not be so formal while sitting here. And I think you rarely get time to
enjoy the Queen's own gardens."
Ruen sits down at Bench near fountain.
Rennar waits until Ruen is seated, then speaks once more, "What is it that you
are reporting on this time, Ruen?" Again the informality, though it might be
noticed that this young noble woman enjoys such luxaries when she can.
Ruen gratefully accepts a seat, and throws his cloak back from his arms,
folding them in front of him. "My lady, " he begins. "I wish to apologise
before I report." He pauses. "As you are no doubt aware, I have been often
absent from your presence, and the presence of your house..."
Rennar nods her head slowly, "I am, yes." She replies, keeping her voice calm.
Still she seems pleasant enough to be talking to for now.
Ruen sighs. "I have been attempting, In vain for the most part, to become
familier with the city and it's denizens, so I might better serve you..." he
breaks from his formal tone for a moment. "Light! Things are so different with
these southerners!" he sighs yet again. "I shall endevour to report more often
from now on, my lady..."
Rennar chuckles faintly, lifting a brow at Ruen, "While you keep an eye on
others, you might do well to keep an eye on my Uncle, Lord Jeffrin Hune. He is
a trouble maker, no matter how often he's said he's reformed. I'd be loathe to
believe him on any matter of importance."
Ruen straightens. "It is that i came to speak to you about, mainly, My lady
Rennar..." he clears his throat. "I have heard some disturbing rumours of your
uncle, and his actions..." He pauses, seemingly uncertain how he should
proceed...
From the Queen's Plaza, Two burly looking men hurry across the plaza, their
conversation a dim murmur.
Rennar's face darkens momentarily, "What, exactly, have you heard?" She folds
her hands upon her lap, eyes intently upon Ruen.
Ruen shakes his head slightly... "Nothing new my lady..." he mutters slightly
under his breath...
The rest of this meeting was postponed, due to RL occurances.
