| Summary: | Rennar starts out to see the Queen, but is detained by Halice. Here she is told about several events in Caemlyn, and an unusual ability that Halice possesses. |
Entrance Hall: Tiras Lorn, Caemlyn
You are in the foyer, or entrance hall, of House Hune. The walls around you are
made of white stone, and the floor is made of marble. Set into the middle of
the floor is a stone mosaic of the House Hune sigil. Doors and archways lead
off of the foyer into other parts of the building. But the most predominant
feature here is the staircase. It stands opposite the doors to the courtyard,
and is made of marble. It is in a horseshoe shape, with the two ends beginning
on the floor, and the height of the crescent reaching the second floor. There
is a small landing at the climax of the staircase, so it is possible to go from
one end of the stairs to the other without actually leaving the foyer. The
small landing area leads into the upstairs hallway, but is also useful as an
area from which to address large crowds in the foyer. Under the landing area is
the door to the kitchen. In the south wall is the door to the Steward's Office,
and the north wall contains the entrance to the Grand Hall. A large fireplace
also rests in the north wall, and gives heat to the main floor during the
winter.

Halice
Delicately, the young noble head of House Hune, makes her way down the stairs,
using the railing to aid her progress downward. She smiles to a few of the
servants, and maids, as she finally gets to the bottom, then nods her head to
Halice ass he notices him. "Good evening, Master Halice."
Dropping in a middle level leg, Halice stays for a moment in a bow to you
before he rises and offers a thin lipped smile. "My Lady, it has been overlong
since last I had your attention to myself." he says in a flowery fashion; in a
subtle complimentary form. "I have some news for you, I'm uncertain of its
ramifications in relation to you but it is very important to this city and
state, thus to yourself."
A brow gently lifts at Halice, as Rennar gazes upon him. She raises a hand and
gently brushes a few tendrils of hair from her features, her expression
unreadable at this particular moment, "Indeed.?" She questions the man before
her, "What is this news that you speak of?"
"I speak of the presence of great evil in teh city's walls, Great Lady." Halice
says very simply to you, using a straight forward tongue this time instead of
the flowery tenor he prefers in most dealings. "I have sensed the presence of a
being, perhaps beings, that have done great evils... perhaps are born of it.
Darkfriends, or worse, Dear Lady."
Rennar gives Halice a rather odd look, "Sensed....?" Some confusion also
touches upon her features.
Nodding his head a little bit the Southern man purses his thin lips into a
frown and looks around the hall. Halice walks you to a farther reach and speaks
more quietly, "I've done yo ua disservice, Lady. It is a secret I've had since
leaving the Northlands, where my ability is accepted by the populace. However,
it is very important that you understand me and hold my secret against other
ears, please. I have the... ability... to sense when evil and criminals are
near, or have been near. Recently, as I walked the Farmer's Market I sensed
great evil, worse than I've ever sensed before. I fear to be so extreme, but I
must say only a Darkspawn could reek thusly."
The young woman's brow creases deeply as she listens to Halice's words.
Smoothing her skirts over a bit, she moves easily with the man to a more
private corner. "You have my word, Master Halice, that I will tell no other,
save perhaps the Queen, of your...." There is a bit of hesitation before she
continues, "ability. She would benefit from such knowledge and if I go to her
expressing these concerns, I must have some way of backing up the information."
"I'm uncertain whether saying what I may or may not so will help, Lady. I
cannot share this perceptions with others... they are something that I just
sense. If I sense darkness in someone, I am never wrong though." Halice says
with a slight frown, "Thus I would invoke you to travel no place without armed
and capable men. If you would be so kind as to offer me a sword from your
armory as well, I could offer much more protection myself. Daggers are weapons,
but nothing can compare to a good saber."
With the time that she takes to answer, it is apparent that Rennar is carefully
considering what's been spoken, as well as things requested. It is, perhaps, a
surprise that Rennar did not so much as blink when Halice's ability was
mentioned. "You may take a sword, if you wish. I plan to go to the Palace this
evening, so if you want to accompany me there, you are most welcome to." She
does not comment about taking guards or what not with her - unusual for a noble
to leave her own behind as often as she does. "Touching on the other matters,
they are perhaps best not mentioned to others." She smirks wryly, "And better
mentioned behind more secure doors than these." She motions gently with her
hand about the room, eyeing Halice quite carefully, "Secrets have a way of
escaping, even within these walls." She holds Halice with a steady gaze, then
smiles lightly, "But, that is for another worry and another day... will you
accompany me?"
"I shall, Lady. I sold my blade to you in service of your body and to see you
harmed through any means when I could have halted it would shame be to the
bone." Halice says very simply as he traces his eyes around the room slowly and
gives a firm nod, "So long as no Aes Sedai come hunting me, I care little who
knows. I do not relish the treatment they give to men who show any odd traits."
Rennar gives pause at the comment about Aes Sedai, "Then I must find another
way to tell the Queen the information I have gathered. She is Aes Sedai, but
foremost she is the Queen of our country."
"Preferable. I don't think I'd like being a guest of the White Tower for any
amount of time." he says with a light smirk crossing his face for a moment and
then shrugs his thin shoulders. "Perhaps they would try to gentle me, but I do
not think it works thusly. I understand male channelers only live a few years
and I have done this for over a decade now and have changed not the least."
"I am not versed in the life span of male channelers, but I do understand that
there are other types of abilities about the world than just the ability to
bear the Power." Rennar comments, "You may pick up a sword on our way out."
"I shall meet you in front of the manor then, Lady." Halice says and turns to
move through the hall and towards the armory in a fair kindred of silence.
Rennar nods her head briefly, then makes her way to the exit.
You open the door and leave the house, entering the courtyard.
Courtyard Gardens: Tiras Lorn, Caemlyn(#4075RM)
Large white stone surrounds the courtyard of House Hune. Set into the western
wall is the gate, leading out of the manor. The manor house itself lies to the
east. A large marble portico runs down the middle of the courtyard in a
north/south direction, effectively dividing the large yard in half. It is large
enough to hold several wagons, and contains the stables in the northwest
corner. The half of the yard closest to the manor house is contained by the
portico which runs along the courtyard walls as well, and connect to the house.
This creates a covered walkway to protect you from the elements; shade from the
sun, and a roof to keep off rain and snow. The ground here is paved with stone,
with only a few weeds growing up here and there. In the center of the paved
area is a square flower garden.
Halice opens the door of the house and joins you in the courtyard.
Rennar waits patiently outside of the manor, glancing at the door from time to
time. Upon seeing Halice arrive, a small hint of a smile touches her lips, "Are
you ready then?"
Now wearing a medium length sword that has a gentle, slight slope to its blade
on his left hip Halice bobs his head to you. "Aye, Great Lady." he replies in
his pleasant sounding tenor voice while looking around the grounds. "You should
have your groundskeeper get to work more fiercely, My Lady." he says with a
slight smile at the yards upkeep currently.
Rennar glances around the grounds in a curious fashion, "Sometimes, I rather
like it that way." She smiles lightly, a soft chuckle in her voice, "Makes
things less.... stuckup, I think." A mischievous look enters her eyes, "We
shall be on our way then." With that said, she moves to the gates, and exits
the manor grounds.
Rennar and Halice travel together through the streets of Caemlyn toward the
Palace of Andor.
Palace Courtyard: Royal Palace of Andor, Caemlyn
A large, wide-open courtyard surrounds the breathtaking beauty of the Royal
Palace of Andor. The pale beauty of the famed Ogier stonework, its high
terraces and balconies and golden domes making your eye travel higher and
higher to see more. The courtyard is very austere, with well-tended patches of
lawn offsetting the stark white of the paving stones.
Small groups of Queen's Guards patrol the area, keeping it safe from any
intrusion. The smell of delicious foods cooking fills the air. The courtyard of
the Royal Palace is sweetly perfumed with the scent of blooming flowers. The
massive, double doors to the Palace are guarded by a small group of Queen's
Guards. A small path paved in white stone leads off to the west, and the great
gates lead back out into the Queen's Plaza.

Halice enters the courtyard through the sally-port in the great gates.
Samuel says "well majesty I know a lot about them because I used to be one of
them majesty. But I see any thing I have to say seems to be falling on deaf
ears. putting his chin up definately."
Aislynn stands in front of a bench, staring somewhat...angrily...at Samuel.
Aislynn relaxes her stance slightly, "-Used- to be one of them?"
Nicodemus would laugh if he were not better schooled in keeping himself
unreadable. So much for trailing the man back to where he comes from. Master
Samuel will most likely keep an eye out now, if he is at all allowed to leave.
Subbtlety is this Gaidin's game it seems.
Samuel says "yes majesty, I swear on my one oath to the light that I have
forsaken them."
A young noble woman is admitted to the courtyard, via the main gates. She
smiles gently, plesantantly at the guards before turning her full attention on
those present. Previously, she had been conversing quietly with Halice, the
armed man at her side. Rennar gives pause when she notices the tension within
the area, though she does gracefully go into a curtsey before the Queen and
Prince, holding it just so until told to do otherwise.
Aislynn inclines her head graciously to Rennar and Halice, "Good evening, Lady
Rennar...I am so glad to see you..." Her main attention is still focused on
Samuel, however.
Samuel says "any knowledge I've retained majesty is yours to have"
Halice moves with Rennar, a few strides behind. Darkly hued eyes twisting and
watching people absently as he remains silent. Bowing, slightly, to Aislynn
when appropriate as he judges by his Master's movements. Otherwise tight lipped
and unimposing on the surroundings.
Aislynn turns to Greydon, "Please have this man debriefed...." She gestures
offhandedly to Samuel. "I must quickly reply to Jarrue's missive...Good
evening, all." To Rennar: "I am most sorry I could not converse with you more
this night....I sorely missed you at the Reception." She turns and makes her
way into the Palace, flanked by two Guards.
Rennar smiles warmly, coming out of her curtsey to the Queen, "Good evening,
your Majesty, Prince Greydon." She greets both the Queen and her prince,
casting a sideways glance at Halice as she does so.
Nicodemus eyes the man's personal statement. The black cloak he wears a
complete opposite to a 'child's' white one. Perhaps it is all part of the act
though. He is not so willing to take this at face value. He himself could think
of many reasons the whitecloaks would send one of their own to be captured.
Rennar's gaze clouds over slightly at the mentioning of the reception, then her
expressin becomes unreadable. She watches as Aislynn goes, then turns her
attention more specifically on Greydon, not recognizing Nicodemus or Samuel to
any degree, "Speaking of which, how were the travels from Tar Valon to
home....? I had a few... problems... with a few of the people that attended the
Queen on the voyage home, as she might have stated to you."
Greydon nods in silent acknowledgement of his Queen's decree. He motions for
the pair of Guards flanking Samuel to escort him to the barracks, "I will be
with you momentarily.." he says in a low rumble. Turning to greet Rennar and
her companion, he dips his head briefly. "Lady Rennar.. "
Samuel walks through the gardens, following the flagstone path.
Elara curtsies to the Lady.
Nicodemus offers a slight bow to Rennar, before turning to Prince Greydon, and
offering one fit for the Prince. He walks off without so much as a word,
following after Aislynn.
Sensing that this may not be a good time, Rennar grows quiet, watching the
guards take charge of the man, "Perhaps I should come at a better time... there
are things I need to discuss with her Majesty when time warrants." The
expression upon her features is grave, as is the tone of her voice.
Greydon watches Nicodemus leave with an inscrutable expression before turning
back to address Rennar. "Ahh.. perhaps that would be for the best. Ill tidings
have just reached here, and trouble unwatched has a way of compounding itself."
Samuel enters the Queen's Gardens from the flagstone path to the southwest.
Samuel walks through the gardens, following the flagstone path.
Nicodemus walks through the gleaming white double doors, into the Royal Palace.
"Indeed... and I have hear of other... malaties within the city, as well as
bear news of my own about certain guests that the palace housed while visiting
within the city... but I will come back another time.' Rennar smiles gently,
curtseying once more, "Good evening."
Greydon nods graciously, "Thank you, Rennar... I'm sure Aislynn will appreciate
it." He offers Halice a brief nod and turns to follow the escorted Samuel.
Rennar nods after Greydon, then glances to Halice, "It seems our duty this
evening was short lived." She sighs softly, then starts toward the gates.
