| Summary: | Master Chade, the tutor of House Hune, meets with Lady Rennar by happenstance within the Queen's Gardens. There, they discuss the various details surrounding Lady Calisa's recent disappearance. Chade reveals that he may have seen the person who took Calisa, and Rennar takes him to the Queen to see if she'd agree to Shalayne speaking to Chade and drawing a portrait from the details of his memory. After Chade leaves, Rennar and Aislynn discuss further the dangers of her life, and that of Demonder's, with people attempting to kill or coerce her fiance into getting him to tell of her visions and betray the Queen. |
The Queen's Gardens: Royal Palace of Andor, Caemlyn
This circular expanse of garden curves around the backside of the Royal Palace. Flagstone paths meander off through the lush greenery, through trees and many flowering shrubs. Trellises with flowered vines crawl up the gleaming white walls that surround the palace. A white stone courtyard sits at the center of the gardens, with tall columns circling around it, holding up its golden-tiled roof.
The lazy sounds of birds chirping and the breeze blowing through the trees makes you feel like taking a catnap. A fine sprinkling of pristine snow lies upon the ground, and the water in the redstone fountain has a thick layer of ice on its surface. A white stone path leads back west to the Courtyard and a white stone staircase curves up near the Palace to a balcony that overlooks the gardens.
You sit down at the Bench near the fountain.
Chade walks into the Queen's Gardens from the west.
Chade slowly makes his way into the gardens, he makes his way towards the Lady Rennar once he sees her
Sitting upon the bench close to the fountain is the Lady Rennar. She appears to be wrapped up warm and snug within a cloak. In her lap appears to be a small book. Gloved hands turn the pages occassionally. Behind her are two Queen's Guards who appear to be keeping an eye specifically on Rennar and possible danger around her. So long as no one looks as if they will make a menacing move torward her, they seem to leave people alone, and give the lady her peace. Hearing crunching upon the slow, Rennar looks up briefly, her eyes adjusting to the light contours about her, and then locking on Chade.
Chade inclines his head respectfully to the Lady Rennar as he approaches her "My Lady, I have not spoken with you since the troubles started. You are well....?"
Upon closer inspection, Chade's answer might be more easily gotten. Rennar looks pale and withdrawn, not like her normal, colorful self. In fact, one could almost say she looks 'sickly', and even more so than the Queen. "I am as well as can be expected." The young lady answers in reply to Chade's question. "Considering what I have gone through, and what I am continuing to go through now that Calisa is gone."
Set.
Chade nods slightly at Lady Rennars answer "Yes all bad news. And I was with the Lady Calisa only moments before she disappeared..."
Rennar appears to sit up a bit at mention of this, "Did you see who she was speaking with before?" There is a bit of worry and concern on her features, and anxiety.
Chade nods slightly "Yes. She was being harrased by a Questioner. I asked her if I could escort her back to the Palace but she declined my offer. Moments after she left, the Questioner left as well, Lt Cronus was in the room and sent a guardsman to follow and I then approached the Lt. about sending more guards to look after the Lady but it was to late..."
Something odd occurs, and Rennar seems to grow a smile, "Do you think you could recall what this man looked like, from memory?" Her eyes watch Chade in a quiet manner, almost holding hope, but not quite.
Rennar sits upon the fountain bench, looking much better than she did the evening before. She is currently conversing wtih Chade, her eyes holding urgent impatience.
Chade nods slightly "Well he was wearing the uniform of a Child Light with a red crock that marked him as a questioner. He was big, over six feet tall I think and I think he was fairly heavy. But there were other witnesses. Lord Demonder and some other Roesones were there..."
"Do you recall his facial features, what they looked like?" Rennar murmurs, "Enough that someone with artistic talent could draw the man?"
Chade shakes his head slowly "I am not sure. I tried finding out his name but nobody in the common room knew his name.."
Rennar seems to slouch on the bench, that hope vanishing, "And it has been sometime..." She murmurs, further quelling that hope. She looks back up at Chade, then sighs a bit, "There are other things we must discuss, however." And with that, her gaze takes on another... odd... expression. She seems almost wary of the man before her.
Chade looks at Lady Rennar with a questioning look "Other things that we need to discuss...?"
"I remember that you are one of the few retainers that my Uncle kept at Tiras Lorn, is this correct." Rennar murmurs quietly, pressing her lips together.
Chade nods slightly "Yes. That is true..."
"I have to wonder why he chose to keep you there, as well as the few who've remained, considering he fired all others." Rennar continues, keeping a calculating gaze upon her features.
Chade shrugs slightly "I do not know why I was kept, perhaps because I had only recently joined House Hune..." Chade then sighs slightly "But I can tell you that the only reason that I stayed was to try and look after the younger Hunes...."
Quietly, Rennar regards Chade as he speaks, her eyes narrowing at various intervals, "You are aware that Satira was poisoned?"
Chade nods slightly "I was told as much. I checked in on her a few times. I believe that Shalayne, the palace artist, was spending time with her as well..."
"You are aware that several of those within Tiras Lorn were assassins sent to kill me? Those who worked as servants?" Rennar inquires, perhaps the point of her 'discussing' Chade's employment. "It has been recommended to me by the Queen's Gaidin to that I fire everyone remaining and start afresh. There are precious few that I can trust, and they've already been rehired."
Chade nods slightly "Of course I am aware. And if you would desire to fire me that is your choice and I would honor your decision..." Chade then sighs "but perhaps you should consider a thing or two before making any hasty decisions, you can verify with the Queen that I approached her about myself getting the young Lady Satira out of Tiras Lorn and was given permission by her to enter and leave Tiras Lorn with the young Lady. It is just bad timing that as I went to get her out that the Queen decided to attack, but I did keep her as safe as I could..." Chade stops and takes a breath before continuing "Also it can be verified with Lt. Cronus that I immediately approached about sending guards to escort the Lady Calisa when things looked strange..."
Emos glances around curiously as he into the Queen's Gardens from the west.
Emos glances around curiously as he leaves the garden and glances around curiously as he up the stairs onto the balcony.
From above, Emos glances around curiously as he up the winding staircase from the garden and onto the balcony.
From above, Emos leaves the balcony and glances around curiously as he into the palace.
"I do not think that your attempts would have worked. Jeffrin had Satira's undying love and support." Rennar looks away from Chade as she speaks, perhaps the memory of it too much for her. "She was quite happy where she was."
Chade shrugs slightly "I did what I could and I believe, eventhough I did stay on under Lord Jeffrin, that my actions would show loyalty to yourself..."
Slowly, Rennar looks back to Chade, carefully watching him. She presses her lips together, then nods finally, "Then if you wish it, you may keep your position with House Hune." She comments quietly, then looks up at the Palace, "But for now, there are things I must discuss with the Queen, for the first portion of what I have to speak with her about, I would like you present."
Chade nods slightly "Of course my Lady, if you wish. But are you sure you want me present while you speak with the Queen..?"
A questioning brow raises at Chade, "Of course I am certain." With that Rennar rises to her feet, then starts to go to the balcony, "Part of what we discussed is what I wish to discuss with her, though I'd rather you relay the information than myself, since you are the one with a clearer picture of it than myself." She does not quite reveal what she wants, though from the looks of it, she will when they are safely snug in the Queen's quarters.
Chade nods and bows to the Lady Rennar "Of course.." Chade then turns to follow.
You walk up the winding staircase of white stone.
Balcony: Royal Palace of Andor, Caemlyn
You are standing upon a long, curving balcony of white stone that looks down over the golden dome of the Grand Hall and onto the Queen's Gardens. Marble benches sit along the eastern wall and between the huge columns, providing views of the lush gardens and redstone fountain below.
A group of Queen's Guards, clad in red coats with long, white collars, marches down the flagstone path through the garden below. Snow lies thick upon the grass of the gardens below, and drifts pile up against the white stone walls. The paths below glisten with ice. A pair of arching double-doors made of glass lead back to the east, into the palace. A winding staircase leads down to the gardens.
Down to Queen's Gardens Nobles' Sitting Room
From below, Chade walks leaves the garden and walks up the stairs onto the balcony.
Chade walks up the winding staircase from the garden and onto the balcony.
Rennar and Chade make their way to the Queen's chambers.
The Queen's Suite: Royal Palace of Andor, Caemlyn
You find yourself in an immense room, with a white marble floor and the same white stone walls that make up the rest of the Palace. The ceiling is a high, vaulted arch and wide, fluted columns line the east and west sides of the room.
Red-and-white liveried servants busy themselves with dusting tables and sweeping the huge expanse of floor. A roaring blaze keeps the huge room warm to the furthest corners during the dead of winter. A tall, arched stone doorway, curtained in thick red velvet, leads further into the chambers. A pair of huge double-doors, gilded in gold, lead out of the room.
Emos
Aislynn
Aislynn inclines her head, blinking at the torn neck of your shirt. "Why, Emos? What happened?"
Emos turns to look at Rennar
Aislynn turns to nod politely at Rennar, and then looks back at the boy with much concern.
Emos writes another note.
Quietly entering the Queen's Chambers is the young Andoran noble Rennar Hune. She half-bows, half-curtsies as needed. Coming in behind her is one of her retainers, Master Chade. "Aislynn..." She murmurs in a warm tone, then rises when proper respect has been given. No titles does she bear, between the woman that is her friend, at least not in her own personal rooms. A brow lifts as she looks up and spies Emos, tilting her head to the side in quiet question.
Average height for his age, this child wears a hat too big for him that he never takes off. He looks to be of Andoran origin. His face shows him to be {friendly. From under his hat his head is bandaged up from what looks like a old wound and he seems to have a minor burn or two. Other than that, he seems in good condition.
Emos looks away from Rennar in embarrassment.
Chade walks through a pair of gilded doors, entering the Queen's Chambers.
Aislynn inclines her head warmly in Rennar's direction, giving her friend a half smile, but turns back to Emos, seeming much vexed about something. "How long ago did he do this, Emos?" She shakes her head, unbelieving of what she has just heard.
Emos looks at the Queen, slowly shaking his head with a pleading look, then looks at Rennar and Chade.
"If this is not a good time... we can come back." Rennar murmurs quietly, though there is a deep curiosity upon her features as she regards the young boy who is within ehr employ. "Though I have things to discuss considering my sister, and regarding your Captain-General." The last statement seems to hold a bit of a vexxed note.
Aislynn nods to Emos, seeming to get the impression that Emos does not wish to speak of this now. She leans toward him, murmurin for his ears alone, "I shall have to speak with -Lord- Nicodemus about this, Emos." She then turns to Rennar with a wry little smile, though she does not dismiss the boy. "Oh? Is there any news about your sister, Rennar?" She arches a golden brow at the comment about the Captain-General, but holds off asking. She seems sure Rennar will get to it in due time. "Please, have a seat..." she indicates with a slender, pale hand. She includes Chade in that invitation, also.
A small frown seems to cross Rennar's features. Something keenly like suspicion enters Rennar's eyes as she regards Emos. She turns her attention back to Aislynn as she speaks, nodding her head and half-heartedly smiling, though nothing like her usual self, "Well, it seems Master Chade might have seen one of the men. I was wondering of an idea that may be of use, though I wanted your advice upon the matter. How good is Mistress Shalayne with her drawings?" Rennar murmurs quietly, settling herself within a seat and carefully arranging her skirts about her.
You sit down at White velvet settee near fireplace.
Chade inclines his head politely but remains standing
Aislynn nods to Rennar, listening as she speaks. "Shalayne is very good, from what I have seen. She has a keen eye for realism, and a fine attention to detail. Do you believe she might be able to help?"
Aislynn sits down at Chairs near fireplace.
Emos sits down at Chairs near fireplace.
"Well, that will depend on Master Chade's attention to detail, and if he is willing to work with her." Rennar glances to Chade, thus the reason for why she asked him along becoming apparent, "It may help. However, he has expressed some concern that perhaps he did not get as good a look as he thought, but I figured... anything may help."
Aislynn nods, "So Master Chade got a look at the suspect?"
Chade smiles slightly "I know Shalayne well.." He then turns to address the Queen "I believe the man responsible was a Questioner or appeared to be but then again young Emos was there as well..."
Emos looks up at Chade, the look in his eyes says you saw him too?
Emos nods to agree with Chade.
Aislynn tilts her head to one side, listening intently to Chade. "This vexes me greatly, hearing that it may be a Whitecloak who is responsible for this." She looks to Rennar, as well, as she says, "And have you heard that Captain Inarin has disappeared, also?"
Emos listens quietly, not sure if he should or not.
Rennar shakes her head slightly, "Nay, I had not, or had I it would have been at a time that I was not... myself." It may be rumoured that Rennar has just been up and leaving complete converations lately, and finding herself in the gardens, or within the maze of the gardens that she knows particularly well. She presses her lips togther, "Matters would be better, for me at least, if Captain-General Durnik would be more cooperative. He mentioned that he had information about my sister, then refused to give any to me. As her sister, I would think that I have /some/ right to know what is going on in the investigation."
Emos winces when she mentions Durnik, but attempt to cover it by looking at his hand.
Aislynn's brows draw together into a frown, and she shakes her head, "I shall have to have words with Durnik." No title given here. "You have a total right to know what is going on, and you shall know, Rennar. I cannot imagine why he would be acting so prickly."
Chade listens trying to remain unnoticed for the moment.
"He said the information was very much confidential, and that because the investigation was pending, I could not know what was going on. He had no care or understanding that this /is/ /my/ sister we are talking about. I've been through enough already." Rennar seems to slump back against her chair, "I want to do something, I can't just sit around and wait for something to happen."
Aislynn shakes her head, a dark look in her pale, glacial eyes. "He will tell all that he knows, Rennar. I will make sure of it. You shall know of what is going on in the investigation."
Relief touches Rennar's eyes, and a small, wan smile forms on her features, "If possible, I would that you were there when that occurs. I fear that if it were just he and I meeting alone that he would not divulge all that he knows of the matter. I find it ironic that one if his Lieutenants is more willing to help, and see things get back into order than he, himself, may be."
Aislynn nods, looking curious at this. "Cronus?" she inquires, casually.
A brief nod of the head answers Aislynn's question. "Aye, Cronus." Rennar murmurs quietly, "It seems he is doing all that he can to find out where she is. He keeps trying to question me, but all I know is what you yourself have told me, and young master Emos." Rennar looks to the young boy, nodding in his direction. "And, of course, what I just discovered of Master Chade, whom I've decided to retain in my employ, after discussing a few matters with him."
Chade smiles slightly but continues to remain quiet and out of the way.
Aislynn nods, listening quietly. "I am glad to hear that...but I believe our Captian-General will not be quite so happy once I get hold of him." She chuckles faintly and shakes her head. "I just cannot imagine why he would close the case to you, a High Noble, and one of my dear friends!"
"Perhaps he has his reasons?" Rennar murmurs quietly, "But I want to know of them, and have him justifies his actions." She folds her hands upon her skirts, glancing to Chade a moment. Her eyes seem to suggest that she's through with 'his' portion of her discussion with the Queen.
Aislynn nods to Rennar, "I would like to know them, as well." She glances at Chade speculatively.
Chade inclines his head to first Lady Rennar and then the Queen "If you will excuse me my Queen but if I am no longer needed there are things I must see to..."
Aislynn nods to Chade, "The Light illumine you, Master chade."
Emos watches silently, waving to Chade.
Chade inclines his head as he backs up before turning and leaving the way that he entered.
A soft smile greets Chade, briefly, then Rennar's attention is given to the Queen. "There are some other, more private matters that I need to discuss with you as well, though if you want to continue your earlier converastion..." Her eyes go to Emos, "I can come back later." She shifts slightly, looking at her hands, "They deal with servants amongst the Palace." She uses something that might clue Aislynn into what Rennar's private matters might be.
Chade walks through the white, gilded doors, leaving the Queen's Chambers.
Aislynn bites her lip, and nods, her eyes going to Emos. "Emos, perhaps you would like to go play out in the hall, while Rennar and I talk for a few moments? And then you may tell me the rest of your story..." She smiles at him reassuringly.
A scared look surfaces on his face, which must mean something, since this child never lets fear surface. He writes a note and hands it to Aislynn.
Aislynn nods to Emos, "Of course....you can go into my chambers." She indicates the curtained doorway leading into her rooms. "Just please do not break anything."
Emos nods in understanding, a thankful look on his face.
Emos glances around curiously as he through the red-curtained archway, and into the Queen's Bedchamber.
A brow lifts delicately at the interaction between the Queen and her own page. Concern does touch her eye, "Do not tell me that even my new page is starting to become threatened..." Rennar's voice seems to take on a more deeply routed note of concern. Healthwise, it is not hard to tell that Rennar is perhaps near some sort of breakdown.
Zandreya has the Lady Cathryn alt which is the IC High Seat of the House. She is to be a part of a TP that will have her eventuall killed so that a new High Seat can be named. Unfortunately, in all my attempts to communicate with Zandreya (pages, +mail, and email) I have not received any word from her.
I have considered assume Cathryn has fallen dead in the fire, a fact that is kept quiet until a new high seat can be named. I had also considered having her killed off later on. I don't mean to rush matters, but it is difficult RPing with a High Seat or heir (Cor) around. So, what can I do? Are my hands tied, or are their options available to me?
Aislynn blinks, looking surprised at your manner. "Rennar, what is wrong? Please tell me...."
Rennar shifts slightly in her seat, looking down at her hands, "I'm certain you have heard of the attack on House Roesone, though what i'm not certain about is if you heard about the attack on Demonder himself..."
Aislynn nods, "Aye...I have heard, and was saddened. It seems our trials here are far from being over...."
"It seems the same man that wants me dead," Rennar continues quietly, "has a legion of men ready and waiting to seek me out and kill me, should Demonder not discover what it was that I have told you regarding my visions. Somehow, they've discovered my abilities."
Aislynn's pale brows draw together into a frown. "But how could they have done so? And have you told Demonder?" Her voice is heavily tinged with concern and consternation.
"Demonder was the first, aside from Genette, to know of my ailements." Rennar does not consider her abilities a gift, that is certainly clear. She continues to look at her hands, "That was back in Tar Valon, and I know he has since told no one. My uncle overheard Genette and I speaking, and I've no idea who he might have told." Her fingers start to pick at invisible threads upon her skirts, signs that she is aggitated. "And somehow word leaked to these men. They do not know what, exactly, was said between us, however they understand that I was the last person to see you before you became gravely upset... so they have deduced that i have knowledge that can be used against you... I have been threatened, and members of Demonder's family have been threatened, should he not provide them with something they can use. I have sworn an oath to you, and Demonder knows that, and I have not even told him what has transpired between us."
Aislynn looks more and more agitated as this speech continues. "So, basically, what you're trying to tell me is that you are now in danger not only because of your dark gift...but because of me?" She sighs and shakes her head, as if there is a terrible burden placed upon her. "I do not know what to say, except that I wish we could find these men as quickly as possible and eliminate the threat." She offers you a faint smile, trying to be reassuring, "And I doubt not your fidelity to me, Rennar. If you have given your word that your viewing will not be told to anyone, I trust you."
Rennar shakes her head quietly, "I am in danger because of my gift, pure and simple, Aislynn. I see visions around everyone. It was my choice to come to you and say something in the first place. I could have kept quiet, but that would have eatten away at me inside, and festered. I kept quiet about my father and my brother, and look where that got me?" There is a bit if despair in her voice as she speaks, and a weariness that seems to drawl upon her. "Demonder has suggested that we make up something, something believable, which to tell them."
Aislynn swallows hard, and nods, seeing this as a reasonable suggestion. "What do you think would satisfy them? What vision could have been horrid enough that I sickened as I did? Unless we think of something plausible, and then simply pass the sickness off as happenstance..mere coincidence..." She lifts a brow at this, awaiting your input.
"I do not think they would believe it coincidence, as there were people who saw you later rather despondant. THey seem to be well informed of things." Rennar comments quietly, pressing her lips together tightly, "Perhaps a death? One of your Gaidin, or your husband?"
Aislynn blinks, turning slightly pale, as if this sort of thing were tempting fortune too much. "That may work....but it cannot come from my lips...."
"No, your Majesty." Rennar goes all formal, for once recognizing the Queen's title, "It would have to come from my own, to Demonder, otherwise they would not believe it. He is to give me some sort of drug, which is supposed to make me speak about the matter somehow." A shiver goes up Rennar's back as she speaks this, "But, I still fear that if Demonder were to give them the information, that they would somehow decide to kill him, and I, anyway."
Aislynn nods, looking very concerned. "A drug, Rennar?"
"That is what Demonder told me, aye. I'm not certain whether or not they know he is telling me these things, but one thing is certain, they are serious. They've threatened to kill Lady Renica, his twin sister, whom is in Tar Valon, if they are not given information by a specific point. Demonder respects my oath to you... I mean to talk to him further, and make suggestions about what to tell them, so that he at least can have some relief over the matter. What I fear is that they will not believe it." Rennar begins twisting her hands in her lap, not looking up at Aislynn. She does not like this mess one bit.
Aislynn nods, looking at you with much empathy. "Then perhaps give them a kernel of truth, along with what is false? Would that make it more palatable to them?"
Rennar glances up slowly, "How could I do that without betraying your confidence?" Her brow knits together as she regards the Queen.
Aislynn bites her lip speculatively, and shrugs lightly, "I do not know. Perhaps your first suggestion was best...if we can pull it off and make it believable."
"I will speak with Demonder, and see what he thinks upon the matter. I will have you approve anything that we do eventualy decide to tell them, which will be shortly, if possible." Rennar responds, "I want you in the loop about this. They've already threatened me if Demonder came to you, so I figured I would since it's hardly noticable for me to come in and out of these rooms, when he's never been here before that I can recall, except the guest rooms to visit me."
Aislynn nods approvingly, "A wise decision, Rennar." She lifts a brow curiously now, and inquires, "And what of the boy? You seemed...concerned with him. And he made a comment about my Gaidin being rough with him..." At this, she looks very angry.
Rennar's eyes move toward the bedchamber, "The boy is within my employ." Rennar speaks, pressing together her lips.
Aislynn nods, offering a smile, "I gathered that from your reference to him as your page...and I am sorry for..intruding? upon someone in your employ. However, he came to me wanting to tell me of Nicodemus' treatment of him. Do you know aught of this?"
Rennar's brow furrows, and she shakes her head, "Nay, I do not." Her eyes go to the Queen's bedchamber again, concern touching her eyes, "If you wish, I can leave so you can speak with him...?"
Aislynn shakes her head, "I do not think that will be necessary.....I shall call him forth, if you have no problem?"
A smile graces Rennar's lips, "I have no problem at all. Please, do." The concern still seems etched upon her features.
Aislynn nod and calls the boy, "Emos? Please come out now...."
Emos glances around curiously as he through the curtained doorway, leaving the Queen's Bedchamber.
Aislynn smiles at Emos kindly, and pats a nearby seat, gesturing for him to sit down. "Now would you like to finish our conversation, Emos?"
Emos smiles weakly, nodding as he aproaches the Queen
Emos sits down at Chairs near fireplace.
Aislynn nods, settling back in her chair, watching Emos expectantly. "Now...what more did you have to say, child?"
Rennar's eyes go to Emos as he enters the room. She looks tired and forlorn, as if having discussed some rather grave matters. She remains in her own seat, quietly watching and observing.
Emos slowly writes a note, carefully pickin his words to make sure truth cannot misunderstood, then after writing it, rereading it, correcting any mistakes, and rereading it, he finally hands it to the Queen.
Aislynn takes the note, her glacial blue eyes perusing its contents slowly and carefully.
Rennar watches quietly, though in a manner which suggests that she's not trying to intrude upon the conversation, despite her curiosity.
Aislynn's brows draw together as she reads this, and her face flushes with anger, crimson suffusing her cheeks. She hastily passes the note back to the boy, and demands in clipped tones, "Describe the other man, please."
The note is handed back to the young Queen quickly, and she says, deadly furious, "Durnik! Durnik! What in the -blazes- is going on here?" She looks up at Rennar, and informs her friend, "Emos says that he was exploring in the Palace yesternight, and happened upon my Gaidin's rooms. He said that Durnik pushed him into Nicodemus' room, and questioned him. Then, the boy says that he was forced into takin an oath to serve them, hiding behind 'Serve your Queen,' which I really do not understand. He also says some part of the oath meant that he could only tell me.....I do not understand what is going on here...."
Emos winces from the Queen's anger, hurrying to write apologies onto all the paper he can write on.
Slowly, the curiosity turns into a bit of anger, "How /dare/ they." Rennar speaks, her own tones clipped, "How dare they manipulate someone who works for me, and a /child/ on top of that." Her emerald eyes seem to blaze at this, going to Aislynn, "I mean no disrespect Aislynn, but I have never done anything to you to be so insulted in this matter. Why would they do this? Why? I haven't acted against you in any manner, I've sung your praises, I've openly supported you, and even acted to aid you."
Aislynn pales at this, and shakes her head helplessly at Rennar...and then the anger again rises to her cheeks and she gets to her feet, with some difficulty because of her growing belly. "I do not know, Rennar...but surely you do not implicate me in this? I am just as confused as you. It would seem everyone here is out of their bloody minds! Are they taken by the flaming Dragon? My -Warder- and Captian-General being so heavy handed with a -child-?" She shivers in her anger, and clenches her fists as she begins pacing. "Someone shall answer for this, I swear it under the Light!"
Emos stops before he can get anything written, just looking between the two angry women, he obviously feels at fault for this.
Aislynn smiles placatingly at Emos, "No...it is not your fault, boy....I can see your emotion in your eyes. We are simply dumfounded as to why this is happening...."
Emos slowly nods.
Emos begins to write a note, but it is obvious this one is for someone not present, or at least for someone present to receive later on.
"Never would I implicate you..." The tone of Rennar's voice suggests that it is the truth, and honesty shines in her eyes, "However, my mind can't understand why they would react in such a manner, just as yours will not allow such a thing either. I have been nothing but up front with you about things from the start, and none of my actions, that I can recall, have ever been untoward to give anyone else the sense that I would be otherwise. I grasp at things, but find no reason for their actions." She pauses, looking down again, chewing on her lip, "Do forgive my outburst, but with all that's going on, I don't think I can take much more... first Jeffrin, then the those men that wish me dead, then Calisa being taken..." Her words start to choke off, as she fights for control of her own emotions, so close to that breakdown, so very close.
Aislynn shakes her head, and moves over to her friend, to comfortingly pat her upon the arm. "I understand Rennar...and this vexes me greatly. I will get to the bottom of this, though....and those two....-louts- shall have some quick explaining to do."
Emos finishes his note, and writes another one, handing it up to the two women for them both to read. 'Should I stay out of the palace, to make it easier?'
Aislynn shakes her head, "You do not have to...." She looks to Rennar to confirm this, though.
Rennar shakes her head, "No." In fact, her voice seems to insist it, "You will stay here with the rest of the Hune family. I don't know what Oath they made you swear, but if the Queen rescinds it, you are no longer bound to it, since they told you to go to her. I will have my own words with them." Her voice turns a bit steely on the last, "If they have problems with me, they can discuss them with me face to face. If they believe I have designs to take the Throne, and this is their reasoning, they are sorely mistaken, particularly in the condition that I am in. And whatever it was that transpires between the Queen and myself is /our/ business." She's mostly rambling, partially due to her stress, and her anger, but she does make some relevant points, her mind attempting to grasp at straws for teh reasons why these men would do these things.
Aislynn shakes her head, "I wonder if that is what it's about? If they are making a wrong connection between my illness...and our conversation?" She sighs, and again offers Rennar a comforting pat, and sighs again, somewhat helpless, but seeming to hold onto her anger, which is one of her chief sources of strength these days.
Emos looks up at Rennar, fear gone, but is nervous.
Rennar watches as the Queen goes to rest, then turns her attention to Emos. Almost immedaitely her features soften, "If you still want it, your place in the House is secure." Her voice also softens. Her anger is not toward the child. She lowers her eyes, away from the young boy, hiding the emotion that threatens to emit itself, "But if you wish to go elsewhere, I will understand. I hold no ill will to you. It is they who were in the wrong."
Emos reaches out to take Lady Rennar's hand, to signify he will go nowhere, without even a pause for thought.
The lady carefully looks up, raw emotion showing within her eyes; pain, anger, frustration, fear, "I would not blame you if you wanted to go elsewhere. My House is not exactly the safest to be with." She murmurs quietly, then lowers her gaze again.
Emos takes his last piece of paper and writes on it 'Maybe I can help change that. I would be honored to be welcome into your House' The words written are obviously overheard from somewhere, but the meaning is understood, by the look on the child's face.
Eyes lift briefly to read the words there, "You are welcome in House Hune, as welcome as the very first day we spoke upon the matter. Unfortunately, I don't know how you could make things any safer. I'm the reason why people are being attacked, and threatened." She does not go into the reasons why, "Why people are after the Queen, and my fiance, and probably my sister." The last is more softly spoken as she says it.
Emos writes small, as to save space, but not too small to be read. 'I am currently working on that' A smile appears on the child, one that says he has a secret.
A brow lifts in question at Emos, and Rennar can't help but ask the question on the tip of her tongue, "How is it that you think you can help?"
Emos points to the message he wrote last, and for anyone paying attention, it is clear he intends to help, but doesn't know how as of now.
"I thank you." Rennar murmurs quietly, lowering her eyes again. She worries her lower lip with her teeth, "Though you do not have to." She comments just as quietly, "I would not want to see you hurt, and I would not want to have to tell your mother something happened to you on my account."
Emos just shakes his head slowly.
Emos glances around curiously as he through the white, gilded doors, leaving the Queen's Chambers.
