| Summary: | After Jeffrin is taken away, Lady Rennar escapes the confines of the Palace of Andor, leaving it and her uncle behind. While traveling home, Rennar discovers she has the company of Ealam (Lord Turail), who insists on seeing her home. Somehow, they end up at the Aboretum and hold a quiet conversation. Rennar has a viewing of Ealam, and chances telling him about his fate. Later, they are joined by others who wish to enjoy the splendor of the Arboretum as well. |
Entry Hall: Royal Palace of Andor, Caemlyn
A wide, circular entry hall with a high, vaulted ceiling greets you as you enter the Royal Palace of Andor.
A servant woman, very pretty and efficient-seeming, dusts off the many tables and plates, cups and platters of silver and gold that grace the room. A roaring fire is laid upon the huge hearth of white stone that was formed in the corner of the entry hall. Its warmth chases away the bitter winter cold. A grand circular staircase curves up to the higher levels of the Palace. A long, straight corridor runs to the southwest, and a winding corridor tiled in white leads off to the east. Atop a couple large steps, A great, arched doorway of gleaming white stone faces the high main doors and leads further into the palace.
Ealam descends from the Grand Hall.
Rennar continues toward the courtyard, having not noticed anyone following her out of the room really. Her hands rest carefully by her sides as she continues to leave the Palace.
Ealam isnt following her perse.. there happens to be just one way out, and he is intent on taking it before someone thinks too much of his repeated presence.
You walk north through the tall double doors, toward the Palace Courtyard. /
Palace Courtyard: Royal Palace of Andor, Caemlyn
A large, wide-open courtyard surrounds the breathtaking beauty of the Royal Palace of Andor. The pale beauty of the famed Ogier stonework, its high terraces and balconies and golden domes making your eye travel higher and higher to see more. The courtyard is very austere, with well-tended patches of lawn offsetting the stark white of the paving stones.
Groups of Queen's Guards march in precise step upon the white stone of the Courtyard. Their red undercoats and long white collars are immaculately clean. A small group of servants works to remove snow drifts from around the front steps of the Palace. The massive, double doors to the Palace are guarded by a small group of Queen's Guards. A small path paved in white stone leads off to the east towards the Queen's Gardens and flagstones lead northwest towards the guard's practice yard. A hoof-beaten path angles towards the stables to the west and the great gates lead back north out to the Queen's Plaza.
Ealam enters the courtyard from the Palace.
Rennar pauses just outside and to the left of hte doors to the palace. There she waits until the guards disappear within the dungeons. Still she's unaware of others exiting the palace. Once she's sure Jeffrin is gone she starts to make her own way to the gates. She nods politely to the guards as she passes through.
Ealam trails a few yards back, pulling his voluminous green cloak around him and walking more or less softly.
The guards return any weapons they may have confiscated and bid you a good day.
The Queen's Plaza: Inner City, Caemlyn
A large, oval-shaped plaza, paved with pristine white stones faces the tall gates of the Royal Palace. Spires and golden domes can be seen from over the walls.
Children scamper around the Queen's Plaza, carefully dodging the adults that bustle about on various errands. Snow covers the large plaza, and the stones are slippery under your feet. The patches of lawn lay barren, as do the bare rose bushes. They await the spring warmth that will bring them back to flower. The tall, gilded gates of the Royal Palace are guarded by a group of Queen's Guards. White stone-paved roads lead to the south and to the northeast.
Ealam walks through the guarded gates, and into the Queen's Plaza.
Once outside the gates, Rennar seems to blend in with the crowds a bit, most of the people present being nobles on their way home or to the Palace for some matter or another. She crosses her arms before her and continues to walk along. Her destination seems to be, thus far, the noble quarter.
Ealam wonders idly where Rennar's guards are, if she has any. It might not be a bad idea to see that she makes it home. He continues to follow her.
The young Hune still has no guards of her own, waiting Demonder's approval before being hired into the House - in the mean time she's borrowed a few Roesone Guards, but does so sparingly. Rennar continues down the street, nodding to a few people she knows as she moves along.
You follow the white stone paved road to the north.
Caembarin Boulevard: Inner City, Caemlyn
The Inner City of Caemlyn is built upon the highest peaking hills, surrounded by a fortified wall built of polished granite with gleaming white marble inlays. One can look down over the gentle slopes of the rest of the city from the many vantage points along the wall. The streets have been crafted to follow the natural contours of the hills, and are paved in silver-streaked gray. A large park-like area lies to the western edge of the walled Inner City.
The large park here is draped in long shadows of the afternoon sun as it arcs across the sky, on its way to setting. A fine sprinkling of snow lies like a light blanket across the hills at the heart of Caemlyn. The white stone walks have been cleared of snow here. A white stone-paved road leads to the south, winding uphill, and its twin leads off to the east. To the north lies Origan Gate, which leads into the New City.
Ealam enters from the south, following The Queen's Way.
Ealam continues to tail Lady Hune, about 20 feet back, close enough to be of some use if something happens.
Thankfully, nothing happens. The Lady just continues on toward the nobles district of the city, quietly walking about. She seems almost contemplative as she moves, her walk slowing as she gets closer and closer to her home.
You walk up Crown of Roses Avenue, toward the east, following the gently-sloping hill.
Crown of Roses Avenue: Inner City, Caemlyn
This portion of the Inner City is filled with large structures of gleaming white stone, roofed in tiles of purple, red and azure. White walls divide small expanses of lush lawn, and golden domes and tall spires rise to the heavens.
Small crowds of finely-dressed citizens walk along the streets, some headed toward the Palace. The walkways and streets of the Inner City are kept clear of snow, but a coat of white blankets grassy areas and icicles hang from the eaves of buildings. White Lion Way, a narrow street paved in white stone, leads off to the southwest, and Crown of Roses Avenue, also paved in white stone, leads to the west.
Ealam comes up the gently-sloping hill from the west, following Crown of Roses Avenue.
Ealam halts in the street a few yards down from Tiras Lorn and continues to watch.
Rennar continues to walk down the street. She pauses just before the newly refurbished gates of Tiras Lorn. There, she stares at the House quietly. Its clear she doesn't want to go anywhere near it, so many of the ghosts of her captivity held there. She raises her arms and crosses them before her, almost in a hugging motion.
Ealam lingers, a hint of sympathy touching his cold blue eyes briefly. He has faith in her as well as Demonder however. She will manage to put this down behind her, though the trial must have resurrected some of those ghosts.
The young woman continues to watch the gates for a few moments longer. Rennar turns away after those moments, seemingly having changed her mind about going inside. Instead, she heads back out the way she came, back out into the streets.
The man watching her frowns and waits till she is nearly on top of him before stepping out in front of her with a raised eyebrow, and a murmured comment. "Lady Hune. Wither do you go?" Shadows of concern are masked behind the hardness of his blue eyes, wraithlike and changing. "The streets may not yet be fully safe for you.. or have you forgotten."
Rennar's steps are cut short as Ealam makes himself visible, or partially visible. Thankfully, she recognizes his voice, "Neither my home, nor the streets are save, nor the palace, Master Ealam. My chances of survival, no matter which way I go, are slim."
Ealam frowns briefly. "Where do you go then?"
"I go to the Arboretum. For now." Rennar speaks in quiet tones, eyes moving out to the streets, checking for who is presently listening.
"I will come with you." Its not a request, but a statement of fact. He's grown accustomed to iniviting himself these days.
"Might I ask why?" Rennar doesn't seem as accepting as before, nor as meek. Perhaps a product still left over from the trial. Her emerald eyes appear to challenge the man before her.
Ealam's face is grave, and if he feels challenged, there's no hint of it in his expression, no defensiveness at all. "You may. I do not wish to tell Demonder when next I see him that his Lady is abducted or missing, and know that I allowed it." He pauses and adds, "You do not have to like it, but I will come, so forbid me not."
Sasha comes up the gently-sloping hill from the west, following Crown of Roses Avenue.
Xavier comes up the gently-sloping hill from the west, following Crown of Roses Avenue.
Rennar is standing in the middle of the street, facing a half concealed Ealam. She regards him thoroughly, her expression careful and wary. Her lips purse together into a thin line as she regards him, "Normally, I don't like taking to orders of others, particularly in light of my recent past experiences. However, I do not wish for happenings surrounding my.... life to affect you, so you may - not that my permission seems to be needed."
Xavier and Sasha, cold and somewhat snow covered enter from the direction of the arboretum. Xavier stops, and bows as Sasha curtseys, with a "Good Evening, My Lady, My Lord."
The shienaran man raises an eyebrow slightly. Whatever was just said is a little amusing to him. "I am encouraged, that you are exhibiting sense in this regard." is his soft reply. Is he the same man who was lingering in the back of the courtroom? He turns his eyes on the two who have just approached and his mouth tightens a little, waryness invading his features vaguely.
Emerald eyes linger momentarily upon Ealam, even after being addressed by Xavier. There is challenge still lingering within her eyes. Rennar breaks her gaze from the man only after he does, then looks to the two who just entered, "Good evening, Xavier, Sasha." She seems to know them, and even offers a ghost of a smile, "Do not stay out too late, or you might catch cold. I'm sure Genette will have some hot tea ready for those who are still at the palace or out." More than likely ready for Rennar herself, though the maid never minds making more for others. She turns her attention back to Ealam, "Whether or not I am seeing sense has nothing to do with matters. I simply recognize it's not worth the time and effort to argue with you. You'd likely do as Demonder and throw me over your shoulder and take me home had I not agreed."
Sasha smiles shivering to Rennar as she curtseys again "t-t-hank y-you M-m-m'lady w-w-e s-s-hall g-g-go there d-d-directly."
The shienaran scowls slightly but nods. "If need be." is his softly gruff retort. He eyes sweep over the other two in an almost lordly fashion. His self confidence is obvious, bordering on quiet arrogance.
Sasha turns to Xavier and begins to walk into the House grounds.
Xavier pulls open the gate to the manor and enters the courtyard.
Sasha pulls open the gate to the manor and enters the courtyard.
The young Lady Hune continues to quietly study Ealam in her careful manner, more reserved than within the court room. There is some small hint of amusement touching her emerald eyes, glinting within the firelight of the lanterns lit about the city. "I think I shall have to hire my own guards, should Demonder not decide soon on who he wishes to protect me." There is a brief pause, then she adds, "However, I will have to make certain they will be men who will listen to my orders." She nods to herself at the last, then starts toward the exit, "Rather than those who take their own council"
Ealam follows after with a quiet snort. "You could do worse than to hire men who had the backbone to challenge you. What worth spineless men who would lick your shoe?" It more of a mutter under hsi breath than a direct comment.
"Ones that would take me over their knee?" Rennar asks, a touch of amusement within her voice. "I said listen to my orders. I did not necessarily say follow them." The young woman points out quietly. "I would expect them to tell me the error of my ways, and then allow me to choose a better decision, rather than have them appoint themselves my guardians and protectors. Nicodemus Gaidin seems to think I have a choice in many matters, when indeed I do not." A small shrug of the shoulders follows her words, in a non-chalant manner.
Ealam smiles to himself following after Rennar, fingering the hilt of his sword. "I mean t no offense, Lady Hune. But on occasion, you will admit, you are... bent on a destructive decision. Men take action when they see matters thus. It is our way, and you must accept that."
Ealam has no doubt Lady Rennar is a handful for Demonder.
Ealam's words seem to cause Rennar to stop in her tracks and turn toward him. A brow lifts, directly challenging Ealam, "I /must/ accept that? I don't think I must do any such thing. Men are just as pig headed and bull headed as women can be stubborn. They like to see things their way, or no way. They can't see the shades of gray in between or the other choices that must be made in sacrifice. Perhaps were you the leader of a House, you would understand more fully. If not, you had better learn." There's something odd about how she states her last series of words, her eyes peering past Ealam briefly.
VIEWING: A flicker of color materializes at Ealam's shoulder, gold and purple, with a swath of green, forming into the Roesone sigil, but blurry and indistinct. A hawk forms out of the air under the sigil, and flies upwards almost meteorically to spread its wings over the sunburst of the sigil. The impression is of sheltering, protecting, and suddenly the bird form has a ram's form. And then it is gone.
Daeryn comes up the gently-sloping hill from the west, following Crown of Roses Avenue.
Ealam opens his mouth to say something, but is given brief pause by the odd expression on Lady Hune's face.
A man that stands leaning against a nearby building may have attracted some notice if certain people had observed him. He seems to be keeping an eye on Ealam, or perhaps Rennar. Or maybe both. Whichever it is this man has a sharp looking ax at his side and he has his arms folded over his chest, but an air of readiness hangs about him, the readiness to move at a moment's notice.
The expression disappears, after a few moments, from Rennar's face. She returns her gaze back to Ealam, studying him more intently. It is almost as if she saw something, over that shoulder of his. "And learn quickly." She comments, some sort of emphasis set upon her words. Her emerald eyes study Ealam's blue, as if looking for some hint of the man's integrity. She does not notice the newcomer within the street at all.
Ealam cocks his head to one side, curiously, almost suspiciously. His blue eyes look back at the lady's emerald ones with the same hard deep coldness as before. Nothing has changed about him at all. He has not noticed Daeryn yet either. He's grown accustomed to being shadowed by the man, though most of the time, if he sees Daeryn, its mere accident. Her statement about leading a house has arrested his attention however. That much expression does float to the top of the cold blue sea in his gaze as a certain sharpening. Perhaps she touches on secret plans of his; plans no one, not even Demonder should know.
"Is something wrong, Master Ealam?" Rennar's voice shows a touch of concern now. Little by litte she is starting to grow more comfortable with her ability. Of course, shouting it out to the world that she's a little different from everyone might have helped /some/ in the matter, even if it caused half the city to consider her a touch crazed.
The scar on Ealam's face draws attention to the tightening of the muscle on that side of his face. "No." He continues to examine her face, "What did you mean by that?" He lowers his voice and swivels his eyes, catching sight of Daeryn in the process.
The man that Ealam catches sight of nods almost imperceptably and seems to shift his attention to the flow of traffic on the avenue.
Sensing the man's lowered voice, Rennar lowers her own a bit, "I meant exactly what I said, Master Ealam. A useful skill to learn and keep in mind. Sacrifices sometimes must be made, do you not agree?" She tilts her head to the side, still not stopping her own scrutinous study. There is an uncanny air of knowledge about her, at least to Ealam.
Ealam's voice is tight and bordering on acid. "You need not -instruct- me on sacrifice Lady Hune, as if I were a pampered fop with a heart of jelly."
Ealam's eyes flick past Rennar again to Daeryn, wondering if he's heard any of this conversation while the pair have been proceeding along the street towards the Arboretum.
Rennar's gaze now seems to go to the man within the shadows. Being a perceptive one she did not entirely miss his entrance, only chose to ignore it at first. Her lips thin together briefly, the her eyes go back to Ealam, "Just make certain when you make your choices that you do so for the right reasons, Master Ealam." Again, there's that uncanny sense of knowledge. "No matter how dangerous, or fraught with hurt they may be later." With that, Rennar turns away from Ealam and starts moving toward the street. She does not wait to see if he follows or remains. She's going to go anyway.
After Ealam's gaze has passed from him the man slips from his spot on the wall and into the shadows of an alleyway. If one was looking they might see him emerge from another and enter the flow of traffic casually, stopping every now and then to look at something. Never long though.
Ealam raises an eyebrow. That expression of knowing is unnerving. He supposes she learned that from Aislynn. Only the Aes Sedai have mastered that knowing look to an art. He glances to where Daeryn was, and is not now and then hurries after Rennar.
Traversing through the city, they finally end up within the....
Arboretum: Inner City, Caemlyn
Though not exactly busy, the Arboretum's well kept grounds manages to keep it a popular spot in Caemlyn: a quiet escape from the chaos of the streets always ready to welcome any and all that should seek her out.
Not far off, couples walk hand in hand, threading their way through the garden's winding paths. A soft layer of snow covers most of the ground, salted paths allowing for cool strolls through the still beautiful garden. Leafless trees stand majestically all around, branches reaching out to the intermittent snowfall. The small pond in the center is frozen over, and all around are burrows: tiny tracks leading to and fro as animals keep warm in the winter. Small stone-lined paths creep off the park's main path, offering visitors a chance to slip away and find their own 'private' spot to sit and enjoy the greenery all around. At the western most end of the park, a high wrought-iron fence is surrounds three large trees, their crowns rivaling the nearby towers of the Inner City. Nestled amidst the ancient giants is a small gatehouse, nearly obscured with creeping ivy.
Ealam walks through the large iron gates, entering from the Inner City.
Daeryn walks through the large iron gates, entering from the Inner City.
Rennar continues through the street and into the gardens. She moves off the main path to an area that's not easily seen - a sort of clearing within the woods, almost hidden. It seems to be a niche she travels to often from the way she moves to it, with a certain surety.
Ealam follows, inexplicably fuming. A difficult woman. He motions behind him for Daeryn to come up and join him, rather than follow at a distance.
Daeryn slips into the trees once he is inside the garden, finding little cover among the baren winter branches but somehow finding enough. Silently he moves along, barely betraying his position except to those with exceptional observational skills. He stops outside the glade that Rennar goes to, taking a position where he can watch unseen but close enough to act if needed.
Ealam has halted himself outside the edge of the glade as well, waiting for Daeryn to advance to his position.
Daeryn notices Ealam's motioning and sighs inwardly. After he had gone through all the trouble of finding a nice spot. Less quietly, but not tramping, he makes his way out of the woods to stand slightly behind Ealam at a position of guard.
Perhaps why her father named her successor to the House over her brother, though Jerad was just as difficult as she. Rennar pauses within the clearing, then moves over to a fallen log. It is there that she finally takes a seat, smoothing out her skirts then pulling her cloak about her more tightly. She watches Ealam as he follows inside, curiosity lining her eyes. "You might as well tell your man to come out. I know he's out there." How did she know that?
Ealam swings his head around as Rennar calls out. Blast. He mutters something to Daeryn quietly and then nods and steps into the clearing.
Ealam mutters to Daeryn, "... you now..."
Daeryn grimaces slightly at Rennar's words but grins at whatever Ealam says to him in response.
"Snow does crunch, no matter how lightly you tread upon it. Unless you were to have me believe it was bats flying low to the ground?" Rennar raises a brow at the last of her words, tilting her head slightly as she regards the men not so far off within the night.
Ealam pulls his cloak around him and tromps rather loudly into the clearing to sit down on a rock. The heaviness of his feet might almost be taken for sulking. Suddenly taking her over his knee is beginning to look more and more like the right option.
The Lady would only allow her own guards to do such things - and likely Demonder would approve. Any other would risk being called up on charges, perhaps. Rennar chuckles lightly, "You look as if you've had your favorite toy taken from you." She comments lightly, attempting to make small talk. "Or that you lost your most prized secret."
Daeryn grimaces again slightly. He shakes his head and then gives a nod of respect to Rennar and her observational skills. He remains mute for the moment though, perhaps waiting for Ealam to provide introductions.
A chuckle almost escapes the unknown man's lips at that comment, but he stiffles it and contents himself with a grin at the jest, even if it is against the one he is protecting. Arms crossed once more he stands slightly to one side of Rennar and Ealam.
Ealam points a finger at Rennar, "That's enough." He punctuates it with a glare. "Don't forget I could put you over my shoulder and take you home like a sack of cabbage." He doesnt wait for a retort though, his chill blue eyes flicking to Daeryn. "Daeryn, this is Lady Hune, whom as you might have guessed, is a spitfire and a passle of trouble."
A brow innocently lifts at Ealam, and something of an amused expression now does cross Rennar's features, "I have not done anything of yet to cause or warrant such crude actions against my person. And, unless you wished to guard me all evening, I'd more than likely find a way to slip back out into the night." There is a slight sniff coming from Rennar as she speaks, her eyes narrowing slightly, "Nor do I recommend such actions." Almost a hint of a threat, "At least, not at this particular moment in time." Her eyes do stray to the stranger Ealam called Daeryn. Again, there's that odd faraway look in her eyes, then something catches her breath briefly. Unlike before, she does not turn away. She simply turns her eyes way from whatever was over Daeryn's shoulder and seems to scrutinize him a little more closely. It's /almost/ as if the Lady saw right into his soul, or searches it.
Daeryn moves a hand to the axe at his side and the other behind his back. He bows. Seems he's practiced a bit. As he straightens he notices Lady Hune's look at him and he furrows his brow. "Is th-there something wr-wr-wrong, L-lady?" he asks simply. Or as simply as he can.
Ealam snorts slightly at Rennar's comments, though he seems content to have made his own point. There's that odd expression again, this time directed at Daeryn. He twists to the side to look up at the man.
"You tell me Master Daeryn." Rennar returns quietly, her eyes still carefully observing the man. Her brow lifts inquisitively, yet at the same time seems to challenge the other man. She won't directly tell her viewings, not to people whom she's never talked to about them before. Demonder, the Queen, and Genette are all that the full scoop unless she deems it is needed otherwise. There is that uncanny sense of knowledge hidden behind her eyes once more. How /is/ she getting her information?
Gaze narrowing as he searches Rennar's face. There's no possible way she could know.. unless. No, she's a noble and seems nice enough. "N-n-no, Lady H-hune. N-n-naught that I kn-know of." he replies after a moment of silent consideration. He seems to have gained an air of caution that wasn't about him before. Whether that is good or no is anyone's guess.
Rennar appears to narrow her eyes slightly at Daeryn. There's a sense of mistrust about her for some reason or another, though she lets things go. Instead, she endeavors to start up a topic of conversation once more. "I would think that the newly arrived Lord Roesone, the one who bore the cloak of White, should pay more attention to the air he stirrs about himself. It seems my Page, Emos, has been spreading Tales about a Child invading the Palace"
Ealam licks his upper lip, still squinting up at Daeryn. Something about that pause. Its almost the same expression that must have been shading his own features earlier when Rennar had that odd look on her face directed at him. What in the light is going on? He turns to look at Rennar. "That was Daric?" His voice has a flat quality to it. Obviously, he attended the trial.
Daeryn 's face is abruptly blank. A stone wall that means to show nothing, but that in itself gives something away. Perhaps the last thing said had some sort of unintended effect on the guard. His fingers tighten on the axe, going white for a second before he flexes them, trying not to grip too hard. He remains quiet, but then since he stutters perhaps that's the reason.
"If that is his name." Rennar answers quietly, glancing between the two in a brief moment before her eyes settle upon Ealam, "Emos had no name to give, only said that he saw a Child of the Light roaming the Halls of the Palace. Seeing as how he is of Andoran nobility, there probably is not a problem with that, so long as he made his presence known to the Queen, rather than hid it. These are treacherous times that we are in, if you could not glean from my testimony at the trial this afternoon. There are plots mounting against the Queen, and unfortunately I am thick in the middle of them, whether I will it or not."
Jhafir walks through the large iron gates, entering from the Inner City.
"I am sure she knows he is here." Again his voice remains rather flat. "Perhaps you did not notice when he came in to the trial, but she looked right at him."
Daeryn listens quietly to Rennar and Ealam talk about a trial. His face is a stone mask as he keeps himself from showing anything about the discusion, or perhaps a comment from before the discusion.
"Perhaps, Master Ealam, however the Queen is wary, and with good reason. You would be as well if there were others out plotting against you, and..." Rennar's voice seems to harden a bit, "... make no mistake, there are those out to get the Queen who wish to use me as a pawn in their sceme. Fortunately..." a light smile touches Rennar's lips, "... they will be quite disappointed. I am very much loyal to Aislynn."
Ealam glances at Daeryn meaningfully, and looks at Rennar directly. "What makes you so sure no hand is raised against me? Do you think I disguise myself for a splendid joke? A mere amusement? You are my cousin's intended. Roesone has already felt the bite of that association." The words are not accusing, far from it, but extremely blunt.
Jhafir steps softly through the tall tress of the meticulously crafted garden. Soft footfalls make little to no sound as he ducks along a beaten path, following a set of anonomous footprints into some light woods. There is no jingle to accompany his movements, as he's removed them for his exercises. The shifting Gaidin's cloak does wonders to make amends for whatever slight his own skills lack.
Delicately, a brow lifts in Ealam's direction, "Why would there be a hand raised against you when no one in Andor save a few close friends know your true identity?" Rennar counters, tilting her head to the side a bit. "Indeed, I am your cousin's intended 'Master Ealam' however I believe those you know have taken great pains to make certain your identity remains unblemlished thus far. At least, I know I have."
Daeryn has his hand on an axe that is at his side. He flexes his fingers on it as if using it's presence to relax him. He stands firm and to one side of the two. For the moment he hasn't seem to noticed Jhafir yet. But then, Gaidin are very hard to notice anyways.
Sitting on a fallen log, looking very much at home out in the wooded clearing area of the Arboretum, is Rennar Hune - the illusion of her hair having faded entirely to show a scalp which is just starting to grow in traces of stubble. Her attention is currently on Ealam, however she does manage to make out a few of the footfalls coming down upon the snow, being as perceptive as she is. This, however, only makes her a little more wary in her chosing of words rather than causing her to tense. Afterall, she does not know whether or not friend or foe comes, and she certainly does not share that information presently - being as she only hears, not sees just yet. "And, I had not intended for Roesone to get involved in anything, much less myself. I should have pushed Demonder away as soon as I heard my Uncle had returned to Caemlyn. At least had he stayed in Tar Valon, while I traveled home, he and your family would have remained safe."
Ealam shakes his head briefly, leaning down to draw in the snow in front of him. "There are one or two I cannot feel sure of.. And I have been seen with both you and Demonder, several times. Or I may have been." Ferret Run of course, is one incident that may have drawn a lot of attention, in fact. Who knows who took notice that day.
Daeryn takes a moment to glance around the surronding area, a noise having reached his ears. Readiness and caution still radiating from him he looks, glad to distract himself from this woman who may know too much for his liking.
Jhafir crouches slowly in the snow, still too far away to hear voices, but looking through the shrugs and light forest to see if he can find a glimpse of fabric or feet from whomever it is he's tracking.
