Summary:The young Hune bard, Xavier, approaches Lady Rennar within the courtyard of Tiras Lorn, the ancestral home of the Hune family. He distracts her mind from the impending trial of her uncle for a small bit, then he and Sasha are invited to walk with Rennar to the palace to hear the decision of the court upon her uncle.

Courtyard Gardens: Tiras Lorn, Caemlyn

Large white stone surrounds the courtyard of House Hune. Set into the western wall is the gate, leading out of the manor. The manor house itself lies to the east. A large marble portico runs down the middle of the courtyard in a north/south direction, effectively dividing the large yard in half. It is large enough to hold several wagons, and contains the stables in the northwest corner. The half of the yard closest to the manor house is contained by the portico which runs along the courtyard walls as well, and connect to the house. This creates a covered walkway to protect you from the elements; shade from the sun, and a roof to keep off rain and snow. The ground here is paved with stone, with only a few weeds growing up here and there. In the center of the paved area is a square flower garden.

Xavier opens the door of the house and joins you in the courtyard.

Xavier says, "Greetings, my lady."

Rennar nods her head to Xavier, a brief smile touching her lips as she sits within the gardens. "Greetings, Master Xavier." Her voice is soft and quiet.

Xavier's face flashes with brief concern. "I'm sorry, my Lady, am I disturbing you? I can leave if you wish."

Rennar quirks a brow lightly, "Nay, you are not disturbing me." There is a light, wan smile on Rennar's lips.

Xavier looks relieved. "Ah, good. I just wanted to thank you once more for your hospitality and graciousness in offering me a place in your household. Is there anything I can do for you, my Lady?" Xavier shifts from one leg to the other in a slightly uncomfortable fashion, as if nervous.

Rennar gives a small shake of her head, "Not just right now. I'm..." She pauses a moment, sighing. Her attention goes in the direction of the palace, "I am simply awaiting the time that I must go to the Palace for my uncle's trial. I am not looking forward to this event."

Xaviersighs in obvious sadness. "I'm sorry my Lady. Would you like me to play something uplifting? Or, if it is not too presumptious, I suppose I am accounted a good listener, at least I must be if my friends back in Cairhien are anything to go by.... they always love telling me about their problems..." Xavier suddenly cuts off, embarressed. "I'm sorry my Lady, it has been a while since I talked with higher people such as yourself..."

A brow lifts in a delicate manner as Rennar regards Xavier. She tilts her head to the side a bit, pressing her lips together, "I am not in a mood for music right now, and never be sorry for speaking your mind." She chuckles half-heartedly, "I am not like most nobles, who must be pleased at all times. You are a person, who should be able to live our your life in comfort. That is something I strive to make certain here amonst my staff."

Sasha opens the door of the house and joins you in the courtyard.

Xavier regards his patron with renewed respect. "My apologies. If I then may speak my mind..." A small wry smile comes to his face. "... well, I must say I was more worried that you were unhappy because you are a person, not my employer. I apologies if this offends." Noticing Sasha arrive, Xavier's face lights up with a large smile.

Xavier mutters to Sasha, "... look..."

Sasha comes out of the house for a little walk, trying to grow more familiar with the grounds. Seeing Lady Rennar, Sasha curtseys as she is being taught "Good Morning M'Lady." Then in answer to Xavier she blushes "Thank you."

Rennar shakes her head quietly at Xavier, murmuring in a gentle manner, "I am not offended, and I thank you for being worried." She comments quietly. "It seems Genette has already started getting people to mother hen me now that we are back home." At speaking of the head of the household, a warm smile comes to Rennar's lips. "No doubt she's already filling in the new staff about all the wild stories of my childhood."

Xavier looks quickly at Sasha, and replies "I'm afraid I have not had the pleasure of meeting her as yet, my Lady."

Rennar stands from her seat, sighing deeply, "If you both will excuse me, I will be heading to the palace now. The trial is open to the public if either if you would like to see the outcome, assuming you've been following the happenings of myself and my uncle." There are dark lines under Rennar's eyes. She has not been looking forward to this particular moment.

Sasha shuffles, still a bit nervous "I met her a couple of times and all she does is shake her head at me saying someday you will get it right. She is a nice lady." referring to Sasha's lack of etiquette.

"That she is." Rennar answers, a fond expression touching her eyes. "Just watch out if you try to sneak snacks in the middle of meals being cooked." She chuckles lightly, "She likes to tap your hands with a spoon and make you wait until the meal is finished and ready to be served."

Xavier grins. "I look forward to meeting her, my Lady. Can we escort you to the palace?"

Sasha shakes her head "that is one of the first lessons I learned." smiling and curtseying again as Rennar prepare to leave, but stumbling a bit and blushing she looks up "Thank you I will be at the trial if I am not on duty."

Rennar gives a small shrug of her shoudlers, " You are more than welcome to walk with me." She comments lightly, "However, I must be on my way now."

Xavier keeps his voice deliberately light also. "Well, shall we go?"

Rennar nods her head slightly, "Please." Witht, and without waiting, Rennar starts her way toward the exit.
