Summary:After a long round of meetings for the day, Rennar comes home to find Demonder sleeping soundly in a chair within her sitting room. Once he awakens, they discuss matters revolving around House Roesone and their attempt to get Rennar to aid the Children of the Light in a program to rebuild homes and offer supplies after the mishaps caused by the falling meteor.

Sitting Room: Rennar's Apartments, Tiras Lorn

This is the outer chamber to Rennar's rooms. It resembles a small sitting room and appears to be lavishly decorated in antique hardwood furniture, with a traditional red velvet covering any of the upholstery. There is a large bay window, with a window seat, that looks out onto the streets of Caemlyn; a small flowering plant hangs in the window, catching the sun's rays. There is a loveseat, settee and small table in the room for those who might care to sit down and rest.

There are two doors in this room, both are sturdy and made of a dark-stained, heavy oak wood; one leads into a private bedchamber and the other leads back out into the hallway.

Demonder

Within their room, its near the evening time and Lord Demonder seemed to have a long day. The bath is filled with water, but already far too cold to have been used anytime soon. Upon the sofa Lord Demonder lays on his front, arms curling around the armrest as he tries to be comfortable. He's clearly sleeping.

The door opens and closes, very gently. Rennar enters the room, pulling her cloak from her shoulders. She drapes it carefully over a rack designed to hold such things and then moves further into the room. Quietly, she scans things around her. The first thing she notices is the bath, and a brow lifts delicately. "Demonder...?" She calls out in a quieted voice.

Demonder continues to take deep breaths as he sleeps, though at the sound of his name he unconciously moves and shifts in the sofa to face more in her direction. There's a calm appearance on his expression.

Hearing the sound of a person shifting does seem to startle Rennar a touch, though none so much as to wake Demonder. She glances about the room further, then spies where Demonder is sleeping. A touch of uncertainty enters her eyes as she regards the young Lord who is her husband. "Perhaps I had better let him rest." She comments more to herself, sighing lightly. She moves over to a shelf within the room that holds all of her favorite books. She pulls out the adventures of Jain Farstrider and then takes a seat not too far away from Demonder.

Unfortunately Demonder is not among the most alert. It would be a surprise if he'd survive many nights alone in the woods. Though eventually he does stir from the sofa, eyes motioning open as he lifts his head and looks about. And then suddenly he jerks up into a sitting position when he spots his wife. "Renni, I must have dozed off." Standing up he stretches in motions all too quick for someone that had been just sleeping. "Are the servants off duty already?" he looks to the water, and frowns.

"They probably found you sleeping, and did not want to disturb you." Her voice comes out in a quiet murmuring. Rennar sets the book aside, unable to even start the first page or so. "Did you enjoy your nap?"

Demonder heads toward Rennar after tilting and cracking his neck. "I suppose. Though you can imagine that I'm going to be awake half the night now. I passed out after dinner," his eyes sparkle a touch. "Genette..." he playfull breaths the word out with warm affections. "The fact that I had not managed to invite myself over more often for her cooking is an amazement."

There is a light chuckle that escapes Rennar's lips. "Just don't let her hear you say that. She might get a swelled head. She knows people love her pies, but they try not to say too much about her cooking, lest they start to get less than what they are used to." She winks lightly, her eye taking on a warm and fond expression.

Demonder tilts his head and takes several moments to digest Rennar's words. He seems to look for another meaning in them, but finally shrugs while his hands run to her shoulder and then around and he moves behind and leans over her shoulder. "Are you going to stay up with me tonight? We can play a game of stones, or something..." his voice trails, as his hand moves from her shoulder and down her arm. He attempts, likely without success, to tickle her side.

"It would probably be better for me to get some sleep. I've a meeting with House Caster in the morning." Rennar states quietly, pulling Demonder's arms about her a few brief moments to encourage a hug. There is a brief, uncomfortable pause, "Though there are a few things we need to discuss."

"There is?" Demonder asks just after enjoying the warm hug. Rennar's husband isn't that easy to release her, holding her near him as his chest presses unto the back of her head briefly before he moves around to her front, taking a hand within his. "What about?"

"Lord Turail wishes us to help the Children of Light give aid to those who were victims within the meteor incident. I have reservations, but he seems to paint a picture that House Hune giving aid would seem as if the nobles of Andor cared more than the Children." Rennar's expression states she's not overly thrilled with the idea herself.

It takes a while for Demonder to comprehend at least some of the obvious issues in the matter. "So the Children wish to gain favour in Caemlyn by aiding with shelters?" Demonder ponders this point first. "I don't know, love. They will likely do it with or without House Hune's help, I would assume? Will House Roesone offer aid?"

"Lord Turail intends to have House Roesone offer aid. He doesn't see any way around it, as they were approached by the Children to do so." Rennar sighs deeply, settling back into her seat. "I do not wish it to seem as if House Hune supports the Children of the Light. While a few actually have their hearts in the right place, I am very much of the same mind as my father. I support the cause of the Light how I best see fit, and that means supporting the Tower."

Demonder lifts Rennar's hand to encourage her to stand with him. "I can't say I have an immediate opinion on the matter. There are rumors of a close alliance building between the Queen and Lord Captain Commander. If this is indeed fact, then having Andoran noble houses aid the Children might take away from their focus." Of course, there's a pause, Demonder not exactly certain on this issue. "I do not know what to think, Renni. Before politics in Andor was black and white on this issue. Now, it is different."

Rising to her feet, Rennar shakes her head, "Politics here were never black and white... you just never got a chance to see the graying areas." There is a brief pause as Rennar regards Demonder, "If the Crown choses to favor the Children of the Light, I will no longer personally support it. I've mentioned this to you before. I'm making very certain you are aware of it now. I cannot, in good conscience, follow a Queen who would let the Children take over her country."

Those words send a chill through Demonder. Holding her hand, he squeezes it softly with a nod. "Then we do not support the Children in their efforts." That decision easily made on that premice. "Do you wish me to find out more of this arrangement with the Children? Rumor is a matter all too unreliable."

"Even rumor holds a margin of truth to it. I would like to know what is going on." Rennar states calmly and quitely. "You may be better at it than myself, considering you are of House Roesone."

"That is true. And my brother had apparently been there for the meeting the ended the surrounding of the farm," Demonder concludes, actually lifting his spirits a touch. Demonder leads Rennar away from where she was sitting as he seems to pace with her. "And if rumors are true, we will raise our opposition with the next calling of the High Court." It's a suggestion in tone.

Rennar nods her head slowly, sighing deeply. "Will the problems never stop ending?" She speaks in a soft voice, leaning heavily against Demonder as he moves her along.
