| Summary: | Entering the Rose and Lion Inn, for a night of relaxation and enjoyment, Rennar and Demonder banter humorously around the topic of Darayn of House Hune courting Cherise of House Roesone. They are both in for a shock and surprise when they discover that the Inn has been overrun with Aiel. Frightened of the savage's presense, they both leave for the comforts of their manor, Tiras Lorn. |
Common Room: Rose and Lion Inn, Caemlyn
The common room of The Rose and Lion is a merry place. The patrons here appear happy, and sit at stout wooden tables, or at the long bar, in groups of twos or threes. There is much drinking, talking and laughing.
The serving maids move about briskly, serving the diners thick sandwiches of roasted beef and cups of ale or water. The smell of the spring flowers in full bloom fills the common room with a sweet scent. A stout wooden door leads back out to the busy Caemlyn Road, a smaller wooden door leads to the stables, and a well-worn staircase leads up to the private bedchambers and common sleeping areas.
Demonder, Ravok, Seth, Edgtho
Ravok smiles to the bar tender. "Thats fine sir. I appriciate it but this will be fine." He looks to his steak readily
Edgtho looks up to Seth from where he's sitting on the floor beside Seth's table "We didn't loose it. The Wise Ones say it survived Laman's Sin. They sent us to find it."
Seth seems confused, "Laman's Sin... Is that close to here?"
Through the doors of the common room the rather attention grabbing purple cloak of Lord Demonder nearly announces their arrival. He flashes a smile to the wench that welcomes them from the newly pronounced spring outside. "Really, though, I thought your cousin would have been more charming with Lady Cherise after all that trouble was put into setting them up," he notes with a slight chuckle, his focus clearly on his wife now, which he escorts at his arm.
Seth has not been approved to play a restricted character. Please contact a wizard or staff member if he is claiming restricted character abilities in his roleplay.
The Bartender shrugs to Ravok's question and allows the plate to drop before its owner. On the plate can be seen, Steak, Mashed potatoes, and tubers. He smiles down to the 'lad' and says, "Well... lets just say its on the house." He smiles.
The bartender adds in though, "Your paying for the steak, lad."
Edgtho turns his head nd he studies the two intently.
"Oh, please Demonder..." Rennar chuckles amicably as she enters the Rose and Lion with her husband. "you, as well as I, know that Darayn's relationships can't last longer than ten hours, tops." Amusement touches her eyes as she speaks of her cousin; who has a rather dubious reputation. "He doesn't know how to stay in one place, or with one person." She has yet to take a look about the room, her attention currently on getting inside and out of the way of the patrons eager to go inside, and those equally eager to turn right back around once they have gotten inside.
"That was the plan," Demonder goes on with his amused chuckle. "We certainly figured Lady Cherise would be following him about long enough for Lord Lelldorin to notice, and the entire affair would be over." The young lord shakes his head in dismay. "But instead Lord Darayn did not even spend five minutes with the ladies company. He said he had some previously scheduled engagement..." Demonder lets those words trail, enough said. He looks amused.
Ravok looking very puzzled, looking up and down from his plate he says to the bartender. "I appricieat your kindness, but since you've gone throught he trouble of cooking these. Please let me pay for my full meal."
Seth studies the two at the door for a moment, his eyes narrowing at the wealth shown before him. Hmm... they don't look like easy 'marks' though. He shakes his head slowly, a mild grin upon his lips.
The Bartender grins, having hoped Ravok would say something of the sort. "Well... if you want to that badly... who am I to stop you." He turns slowly from the 'lad' his eyes catching sight of the Lord and lady that have so recently entered.
Ravok turns from his meal to look at the well dressed couple, but is about as concered with them as they are with him. He continues with his delicious meal
Edgtho glances to Seth and nods his head in their direction "Who are they?"
Seth looks back to Edgtho and replies, "Tis Lord Demonder and his lady..." He shrugs, "That's all I know of them though."
'Easy marks' they would not be, Rennar being the more perceptive of the two - and they are more trouble than they are truly worth. "Well, I could always manage to convince him to try again, if you really want that relationship to end." Amusement once again colors Rennar's voice as she starts to pull her shawl from her shoulders and enter more fully into the room. "Afterall, it would not look good to have another pair of cousins mar-...." It is then that she spies the rather strange person sitting within the room; upon the floor no less. Her words stop and her mouth hangs open. Her hand reaches out and grips at Demonder's arm a bit too tightly, eyes widening more than they normally would.
Demonder is not nearly as perceptive as his wife, that much becomes obvious in the next. Even when Rennar grips at his arm, Demonder continues the amused chuckle. "No, it would not look good," he goes on in the conversation before taking notice that Rennar is rather shocked. Demonder blinks a few times, and then looks to the general direction to the savage on the floor. "For the Light, the rumors are true..." he gasps in a quiet murmer.
Ravok makes a little chuckle to himself with the eyes Lady Rennar, and the shock of Lord Demonder. Knowing full well that The Aeil startled him as well.
The door to the kitchen opens swiftly, allowing a Barmaid to exit and move across the room with a plate of eggs and bacon. She moves towards the table by the window, shying away from the Aiel upon the floor. She places it before Seth and moves away hurriedly, towards the bar...
Edgtho's blue eyes stare right back to the two nobles, his face entertaining no expression so far. he notices the axe at the man's hip and frowns slightly, though not nearly as much as he would, if a sword hung there.
The Aiel does more than startle Rennar - they are demons used to keep children behaving, much like the Forsaken. From the look on Rennar's features, the fear in her eyes, she's been told such stories herself. "D... Demon...der. I... I think its time we ge.. get going." She starts to back away toward the entrance, doing the same thing some of the other patrons are doing; coming in and immediately leaving, a fact she had not picked up on earlier.
Seth smiles, pleased that his breakfast has finally arrived. He glances down to Edgtho and asks softly, "Have you eaten Edgtho? I could get you something if you like."
Rashan comes down the creaking stairs, and enters the common room.
Rashan makes his way down the steps of the inn, whisteling merrily to himself...
Rennar is gripping Demonder's arm, attempting to back away fearfully toward the door; as many of the other patrons have been doing as well.
Demonder shock doesn't leave, and only at Rennar's urged retreat from the common room does he briefly turn his attentions to her. From the corner of his eye he does keep the savage within view. "Renni..." he begins with uncertainty. Demonder is not one to argue, though he looks around as though pondering who would allow a beast to be served within the common room. Although he doesn't argue the retreat, he does not urge it along.
Rashan misses the last step of the stair as he spies the Aielman sitting on the floor "Blood and ashes!"
Edgtho nods his head to Seth's question "I have already eaten." His eyes stray to the two nobles time and again, then he stands and grounds his spears "Hold, if you please. I am here merely to wait for this man." he indicates Seth "I shall leave as soon as he is ready."
Rashan speaks a little hessitantly, but with a bit of authority. "Then, I think he's ready." he looks at Seth meaningfully. "Aren't you sir?"
Rashan makes his way behind the bar, and looks a bit more sure of himself now that he's on his 'ground'
Rashan walks Behind the Counter.
Rashan's exclaimation provides a small touch of distraction from Rennar's fear, and then from Demonder. When the Aiel, or 'demon' in her mind, speaks, she jumps in a startled manner. Rather than waiting she does exactly the opposite, she lets go of Demonder's arm and makes her way to the door, whether or not Demonder tries to stop her. When one hears stories of the savages, and then sees them in person, all rationality flies out the door.
Ravok who has eaten his food quickly, smiles and lets a little burp out, then smiles. He looks for the bartender, to pay the man for the Job well done.
Rashan, the bartender, stands behind the bar Ravok ;)
Seth looks up at the two by the door, his eyes going wide at their reactions. Why in the Light were they getting so excited... He shakes his head looking at the Aiel, he seems a good enough sort. He sighs, shakes his head and says to Edgtho, "Well...perhaps I can eat later." He pushes his chair away from the table to stand, "I'd not want these nice people to worry so."
Seth stands and leaves Window Table.
There's no doubt that Demonder has a general perception of threat from the Aiel. The loop that holds his axe is loosened, though he is more concerned with Rennar when she begins to flea. There could be more, after-all, as he's heard they hunt in packs much like animals. He rushes to her side, not exactly arguing her course of action. "There maybe more outside," he points out with that concern, though really he fully opens the door for them to depart if she wishes too. Far from Demonder to show anything but confidence in his skill to protect her, after-all.
Edgtho looks to Seth and growls "I think I'll wait for you outside." Taking the spears, he sets for the door. When Seth speaks, he nods.
Ravok digging out the payment do from his hidden pouch, hands Rashan, the bartender his due. "Thank you and your cook for a delicious meal."
Too late, the two nobles are already leaving. As soon as Demonder has the door open, Rennar flies outside as quickly as her legs can place distance between herself and the 'savage.'
You push through the wooden door and head back out to the stable yard.
StableYard: Rose and Lion Inn, Caemlyn
A wide, lightly paved path of stones leads in a small circle from the road, to the barn, to the inn. A large area in front of the barn is cleared out for those that would be leave their wagons or carriages outside. There are several places to tie lone horses, if a rider just came in.
Single riders and wagon drivers arrive in the afternoon hours, handing their horses over to the attendents of the inn for care. Trees, flowers and shrubs appear to either be in bloom or regaining their leaves, planted in front of the inn or on either side of the paved path. A soft fragrance of the freshly blooming flowers permeates the air as a soft breeze billows past. Up above, birds sing cheerfully as a new season arrives, celebrating rebirth. A few steps lead up to a small door, opening into the large building before you which can only be the inn. A large sliding door can be seen opening up into the stables. If you follow the path, you will find yourself back on Caemlyn Road.
Demonder steps out into the stableyard, leaving The Rose and Lion.
Yasmeen emerges into the yard from Caemlyn Road.
Yasmeen pulls back the large door, entering the stable.
Rennar reaches out and grips Demonder's hand, that fear present within her eyes, "If there are more, I trust you to protect me. I'd much rather have Genette's cooking anyway than Inn food." She likes both, actually, but this evening Genette's food is all the more appealing. "And, once she hears the rumors are true, she'll forgive me asking for her to work on her day off."
Demonder escorts Rennar with one arm, and holds the shaft of his axe in the other. "I thought they were silly rumors," Demonder mumbles, shaking his head further as he hurries them out the door. His shoulders do broaden at her announcement that she will trust Demonder to protect her, even though it is unlikely he would have a chance against even one well-trained Aiel. "Though I've yet to complain about Genette's cooking," he notes, concern still in his voice as he leads her into the street.
Demonder walks down the path, re-entering Caemlyn proper.
Edgtho steps out into the stableyard, leaving The Rose and Lion.
Demonder and rennar continue through the streets, their intent to go home to Tiras Lorn.
White Lion Way: New City, Caemlyn
White Lion Way meanders through the city, coming to an end here at the far eastern edge of the capital of Andor. The fifty-foot tall wall of gray stone streaked with white and silver can be seen here, towers along its length with red and white banners whipping in the wind. As with the other entrances to this huge city, there are plenty of shops and market stalls set up along the road here.
People bustle by, hurrying to their destinations, and running errands. Carefully cultivated roses bloom along the wide patch of greenery that runs down the center of White Lion Way. A road leads southward, and you can see the first gentle slopes of hills that lead to the Inner City, built by the Ogier along the natural contours of the land. The road runs east and west here; to the east is the Aringill Gate, leading out of the city, and to the west it continues along through Caemlyn.
Demonder, Inarin
Demonder is holding the rather distraught Rennar within his escorting embrace, one hand is on the shaft of his axe. He is constantly on the look-out for the evil demons, those damn Aiel, while walking briskly in protection of Rennar. They head home.
Kyriele enters The Queen's Plaza from the northeast, walking along White Lion Way.
