Julian Sands

BIOGRAPHY

Actor Julian Sands was born in Otley Yorkshire, England on the 15th of January 1958. Sands acting career began in passion plays at the age of six. He also attended the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. His first big break was in the British television series "A Married Man" starring Anthony Hopkins. He eventually wrote to director Ken Russell, whom he admired very much, desiring to play in any part of his films. In 1986, Russell sent him the script of "Gothic" with an offer to play the key roll of Percy Bysshe Shelley. Julian Sands has been acting successfully in a variety of films all over the world. Sands was also who author Anne Rice originally wanted to act the part of Lestat in "Interview with a Vampire". He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and enjoys gardening.
