David Broughams' love of natures beauty comes to him honestly. His father, who lived for the outdoors, took him on many trips. The die was set and the love of the quiet solitude of the forests and lakes, left David with a deep sense of visual appreciation for the beauty of the wilderness of Canada.

He started painting and sketching at an early age, gave it up for a family, (seven children and 9 grandchildren) (so far)....so his younger years where taken up providing and loving his family. He moved to Victoria, British Columbia, (now his home), from Ontario, and decided to finish his schooling. After taking fine arts at the University of Victoria, he proceeded to Vancouver, B.C. to finish another two years, of intensive schooling.

During all this he found the time to take courses and personal instruction from many well known artists.

His first love is for watercolors, because of the freedom, and challenge it allows him to express his feelings for the visual natural beauty of British Columbia, especially Vancouver Island.

He is a past president of The Victoria Society of Artists; a past member of a successful artists co-op, in Victoria, and the organizer for one of the largest gathering of artists in British Columbia, at the “Royal Roads University Paint-In”, from 1996 to 1999.

His paintings hang in many private and corporate collections, in Canada, Japan, Europe and the United States.
