One of the main buildings on Gallaudet's campus is Chapel Hall. It was built in 1870 and today is a National Historic Landmark Building. Portraits of past Gallaudet University presidents are hung on the walls. It's also the place where President Garfield gave his last speech before he was assassinated. Furthermore, the tiles in the front entrance are left-over from the tiles in the Capitol's Statuary Hall.
