Summary:Several things occur within this scene, as Aislynn is shown old belongings from her mother. Theowyn watches over. Elyse enters the scene, as does Neri, though rather quickly and disappears. Kellian raises issues with Inarin, while Jane looks on.

Tyrion sits playing cards with three other men, one of which throws a card down and bellows, "Tyrion...I know your cheating...."

Miles climbs up the spiraling staircase, from the lower levels of the Palace.

Miles comes tromping up the stairs. A young man follows him carrying a chest.

Tyrion leans foward his hand waving like a sword over the cards ont he table, "Shhhh Royce....you'll ruin my already sparkling reputation..."

Edilim climbs up the spiraling staircase, from the lower levels of the Palace.

Aislynn glides from the Queen's Chambers, entering the Sitting Room.

Tyrion gives a grin and then pauses as he notices the population of this normally quiet room doubling int he mere space of a minute.

Inarin walks from the Queen's Chambers, entering the Sitting Room.

Royce, the big man at Tyrion's table, chuckles a bit and then follows Tyrion's stare.

Verus climbs up the spiraling staircase, from the lower levels of the Palace.

Edilim clears his throat as he steps self-importantly into the room. The Ambassador of Devorae is heeled closely by an old, graying servant in blue and black livery who wears the same crest that Edilim does. He casts cool, hawk-like eyes about the room, taking it in before saying, "I had heard there would be talks this evening." That seems to explain everything, by the man's tone.

Miles seems to be looking for someone. His eyes go to each person in turn. Tyrion he does not know. This is something he will have to rectify before the day is out. Theowyn is next to be looked over. He recognizes the man but has never had the pleasure of speaking with him. He turns around and speaks quietly for a moment to the attendant behind him. The strong man seems quite relieved to receive permission to finally put down the trunk he is carrying. He does so carefully but with a thud none the less.

Tyrion sits around a short table, playing cards with three other men...men who could be menacing looking, but who have the look of mirth right now. One of them, Royce, is a large man who dwarf's Tyrion even more than normal.

Miles turns to Edilim as he speaks. Again he has not met the gentleman but he is easily able to guess his identity as he has heard of this one and his intent. "That is my hope sir." Miles steps forward and offers a shaky old hand to Edilim. "I am Miles Danforth the Murundian ambassador to Queen Aislynn's court."

Verus walks up the grand staircase, staying in the centre. The man, merely by walking, carries an air of unpleasantness. He wears a frown - usual, for those who know him - and his white cloak trails behind him dramatically. Upon reaching the sitting room, he merely walks to Inarin, saluting him CoL-style - hand against his heart. "My Lord Captain, as I was summoned, so do I appear. Light illumine." He maintains his moderacy; in public, at least. He casts a disdainful frown around the room, then looks back to Inarin.

"Light illume, Child Arctavius," Inarin says. He came in near the Queen, though not directly alongside her. They were obviously speaking in another room.

One of the men with Tyrion is about to open his mouth and is hushed by a serious shake of Tyrion's hand.

Mouse climbs up the spiraling staircase, from the lower levels of the Palace.

Twitch arrives with Mouse.

Theowyn had been standing near the entrance to his chambers, though as the activity around the noble's sitting room, Theowyn moves away from the two Queen's Guard he had been standing with and heads toward the room. "Light Illume..." he spreads to the others with a light nod of his head, recognizing most.

Edilim clasps Miles' hand with a charming, political smile. "Why good evening Ambassador Miles Danforth. I have been speaking with the honorable King of Murandy, and I had hoped to meet you sooner than this. Although it is certainly a pleasure to do so now." The servant behind Edilim lugs about a heavy, leather-bound book and instruments with which to write in it. The graying man simply stands there, the strain of holding the book present, but not overwhelming.

Briskly, the young Queen steps out of her outer chambers with graceful steps, walking with Inarin. She is dressed in riding habit, as if she were out earlier enjoying the autumn weather. She glances about curiously, nodding curtly to this one and that. To her brother, she gives a warm smile.

Quietly, Inarin gestures for Verus to come over to his side, since the man just arrived. Politely, he nods towards Edilim, as well as Miles.

Meridon climbs up the spiraling staircase, from the lower levels of the Palace.

Mouse wanders up the stairs, silently as usual. Twitch is curled up in her unworn hood, his head resting on her shoulder. At sight of the crowd in the room, the little girl pauses, but only briefly. Then, footsteps still silent, she makes her way across the room toward one of the window seats, paying almost no attention to anyone.

Meridon strides up the staircase and stops cold when he sees the number of people there. His sober eyes flick about at each face, and he shifts the half-dozen books he carries between his arms slightly.

Verus nods and follows suit, walking towards Inarin in slow steps, having a slightly-pronounced limp in his left step. His eyes flicker to the Queen, and he gives a bow, or at least, as much as he can make it, "Walk in the Light, Queen Aislynn." Not a 'Light Illumine' as Inarin had been so graced, merely a 'Walk in gthe Light'. His eyes again flicker to Inarin, giving a questioning look.

Miles nods. "I have been occupied with the process of making myself familiar with this beautiful city up to the present. Sadly though...it is now time to get down to the business at hand. Business which you and your countrymen may be able to help us with." That said, he turns to view the room in general. He moves towards the queen stopping a respectable distance from her and bowing as gracefully as his old age permits. Queen Aislynn. I have brought gifts for you from my home in hopes that it may brighten your spirits." He indicates the trunk which his servant carefully picks up and sets at Aislynn's feet.

Royce, the large man at Tyrion's table sees Aislynn and spouts, "Well I'll be..." to which Tyrion turns with a quick warning glance and finishes his sentance, "...finding other accomodations if you do not seal that mouth of yours..."

Aislynn tilts her head to one side, curiously, looking down at the trunk. Perhaps visions of severed heads dance before her crystalline blue eyes, and she gives a slight shudder, but nonetheless kneels down to look curiously into the box.

Offering a warm smile to his sister, Theowyn waits for Aislynn to move in motion to him before moving forward. With the issue of the drunk, Theowyn to looks to it with an odd curiousity, though seems to settle for silence for the moment.

Inarin leans over to murmur something towards Verus quietly, perhaps to explain the situation to him.

Edilim smiles brightly once more as he spots Inarin. He crosses the floor to him, not seeming to notice the Queen, and says cheerfully, "Ah Lord Captain Inarin Donnerick, is it not? Quite good to see the Children of the Light here. May the Light shelter and protect us all, yes?" He glances over to Verus, nodding respectfully, and at the same time manages to spot Aislynn for the first time... perhaps.

Inarin mutters to Verus, "... invited... to... on a... between The... and... Illian and... thought... adviser present in... a..."

Verus returns the nod with a curt one of his own. He turns to Inarin, then, and nods solemnly, then turns back to survey the matters, frown deepening. His eyes flicker down to the box, holding his curiosity for a few moments.

Meridon clenches his jaw, looks over the crowd again from beneath bitter brows, and turns to descend the stairs.

Edilim bows with all due courtly pomp and flourish to Aislynn. "Good evening, Queen of Andor." His expression doesn't change much; his pale, gaunt face still holds that practiced smile, those indifferent eyes, that over-large nose. All right, the nose isn't really changeable, but no matter what Edilim's expression it always draws a little attention.

Inarin takes a glance about the room, nodding politely towards Theowyn. He clears his throat, "Perhaps the room had best be cleared of non-essential personelle?" He means Mouse, since he gestures at her vaguely.

Meridon descends the white spiral, headed for the lower levels of the Palace.

Verus turns to look at the 'non-essential personelle'. Sliding his gaze across Mouse, his frown darkens, and he tilts his head to quietly whisper to Inarin.

Mouse, meanwhile, is on her stomach on the floor by one of the seats close to a window, groping beneath it, and still ignoring everyone in the room. Finally, she pulls her hand out, and whatever she has in it gives a soft tinkle. At the sound, Twitch's eyes open, but the girl stuffs whatever it is into one of her pockets, and turns to make her way out of the room, still ignoring everyone.

Inarin nods slightly to Verus. He mutters to Verus, "... She is... why... think Rio was behind... eventualy theft,... I..."

At Inarin's words the two smaller men at Tyrion's table begin to rise, until Tyrion shoots them a quick grin, "Not you....even ROYCE knew he didn't mean you..."

Royce gives a quick smile....then a frown.

Verus frowns, He mutters to Inarin, "... was,... Captain. She was...." His eyes wander around the room sharply, perhaps warning others to stay out. Perhaps.

The young Queen remains bending down, looking at the items in the trunk that Miles has presented.

Mouse finally manages to make her way to the other side of the room, and pauses at the top of the stairs. Reaching up to lift her cat out of her hood, she sets him on his feet, then takes the tiny silver bell from her pocket and drops it down the stairs. The cat chases the bell, and the girl follows slowly down.

Mouse descends the white spiral, headed for the lower levels of the Palace.

Twitch leaves with Mouse.

Neri walks from the Queen's Chambers, entering the Sitting Room.

Kellian climbs up the spiraling staircase, from the lower levels of the Palace.

Jane arrives with Kellian.

Siobhan walks from the Queen's Chambers, entering the Sitting Room.

Siobhan walks leaves the sitting room and walks out onto the balcony.

Kellian enters the sitting room in a bit of a hurry, and looks relieved to see those gathered here. "Ah good, I'm not to late." He comes in followed by young girl with a bruise on her face and his two bodyguards following along behind her.

Neri walks leaves the sitting room and walks out onto the balcony.

Aislynn is kneeling upon the ground, near a large trunk full of curious items, which she gingerly goes through with her pale, bejewelled hands.

Tyrion is sitting at a low table with three other men playign at cards, though they look in pause and interest at the scene that has gathered around them.

Verus is standing by Inarin, whom is near the Queen. He carries his usual distinguishing frown.

For some reason, Aislynn suddenly looks up from her perusal of the items in the trunk, narrowing her eyes and looking toward the door leading to the balcony. She looks sidewise at Kellian, and gestures for him to check that area, to make sure all is well.

Jane follows Kellian, her face and manner and posture all reluctance. Clothes dusty, hair random, absolutely nothing about her appopriate for this room or this company. When she gets a good look _at_ the company she looks back, as if to retreat, but those guards are in the way. So she looks forward again, fists clenched.

Kellian nods "Wait here." he says to Jane and looks in the direction that Aislynn indicated. He moves over there then opens the door.

Edilim seems to think Aislynn did not notice her bow or his greeting, but he doesn't mind. After all, if it comes up, there are others that saw him bow. No one can say he is being unfriendly or unpolite.

Jane stares at Kellian. Wait...? She retreats, instead, taking a step or two back toward the doorway.

The two guards keep her from going far.

Miles looks to the queen as she inspects the contents of the trunk. "My apologees for this being so long in coming Queen Aislynn. Foraging things from the remains of House Morgannan has taken quite some time. There are many more things that were sent. The vast majority of them are far to large to present to you in this setting however."

Apparently satisfied that her brother, the Captain-General, has all under control, Aislynn bends her golden head again over the trunk, removing dusty old books and setting them aside, after brushing off their covers and smiling to herself. She continues to take out items here and there..curiosities...an old Sea Folk porcelain tea pitcher worth who knows how much...an alabaster statue in the shape of a woman holding a sword--the sigil of House Versyr...snatches of rich cloth and scrolls tied with string. All of these she sets aside, examining them with a cursory glance before digging into the trunk's depths again. As she does so, she glances up, looking at Miles in a grateful manner. "My mother's things, my Lord Ambassador. I am forever in your debt. I had not expected to see any of it again." She lifts a pale brow as the man mentiones having more.

Elyse arrives from the Kamikatsu Royal Apartments.

The double doors to the Royal Kamikatsu apartments opens quietly, but synchronized in dramatic fashion by the sentries, and revealed on the arm of a sharply dressed Kandori Honor Guard officer is the young Princess of Kandor, Elyse Kamikatsu. Behind the pair is another pair of Honor Guard, who move to follow easily to the slow, caution pace set by Elyse's escort much more futher into the Nobles Sitting Room, " . . . yes, thank you, Leftenant. I agree that such discretion would be wise," her trained soprano voice softly drifts with rich eloquence as she walks beside the man her comment was made for. Her head remains tilted a bit in his direction, but her vacant blue-eyed gaze settled before her on smoe distant and unrecognized point.

Cronus climbs up the spiraling staircase, from the lower levels of the Palace.

Rudra arrives with Cronus.

Rudra descends the white spiral, headed for the lower levels of the Palace.

Miles nods his head. "After we have had time to discuss our mutual matters of more pressing business, I shall see to it that the merchant Association delivers the items to the palace that my King had shipped to Caemlyn."

Aislynn inclines her head to Miles politely, gracing him with a warm smile, before focusing her attention back upon these long-forgotten and lost things. She does not yet notice the entrance of the Kandori Princess, so intent is she upon the lost objects of her House. After a few moments of further exploration, a soft cry escapes her lips, and she lifts from the bottom of the trunk a largish box of a fine, dark wood. She thus holds it aloft, turning her gaze to Theowyn. "Theo...." she says, excitedly. "Did you -ever- think you would see this again?"

Inarin blinks quietly at Aislynn. He just sort of peers at her, not having ever quite seen her like this before, perhaps.

Kellian stations his gaurds near the balcony and moves back by Jane, in part to keep the, very likely, frightened girl from running off. "Easy now. Nothing to worry about." He says calmly to her.

Cronus notes the scene and arcs a brow, no he can't bring sour news at this happy a time. He merely watches for now, and takes a more tactful position in the room and near Aislynn. His face that of buisness, expressionless with watchful eyes.

Edilim edges back over to his servant, content to watch and not make noise at the time. Edilim nudges the older man with an elbow. Anyone that might watch the servant closely might see that he jots something down on paper from time to time.

Frightened, yes. Jane watches Kellian's approach warily, hands still in fists. Whispered, "Why're we here?"

Also addressing Kellian, Aislynn calls out to him, "Kellian, come and look at what has been returned." She opens the lid of the box, to reveal a red-velvet lined hollow, upon which lie many items of jewelry glittering in the light of the room.

Royce turns his open mouthed gaze around to see the Kandori princess muttering, "Light, I've never....", and again Tyrion shoots a warning glance at him saying low under his voice, "Royce! rpeat after me....'I value my nice warm bed.....I value my nice warm bed'"

Theowyn takes a few more steps closer to the box, his eyes going wider as he begins to recognize the jewelry box from some fragments in his memory from long ago. Those eyes seem to flip through many emotions, bending down to touch the edge of the box. "This is certainly a gift of wonder. The Wheel as spun us fortune." As he straightens, his eyes shift to Elyse, the smile broadening a hint more. To her escort he inclines his head. "Princess Elyse..." its a pleasant sigh, some relief taking to his features.

Verus does just that, watching everyone in the room carefully through veiled gazes. His gaze rests on Edilim's servant for a few moments, taking down his notes, then flicker back to the other occupants. He has noted the note-taking, however.

Cronus takes note of almost everything that takes place within the room. As he watches for any action which may lead to some point for political or physical harm.

Inarin shifts his stance some, glancing towards Aislynn again. He turns his gaze back towards Verus afterwards to murmur something to him. He mutters to Verus, "... wonder what... wanted for."

Miles makes his next presentation to the Catain General of Andor as he approaches to inspect the box. He offers Kellian a lareish leather bound book and proceeds to explain. "It occurs to me that you are perhaps the most appropriate person to make this next presentation to Captain general as you are charged with Andor's safety. Written in this journal are absolutely all the leads we could dig up based on the evidence we found in House Morgannan that was not destroyed. It lists a number of House Morganna's holdings within Andor and indeed within Caemlyn itself, as well as the people with whom it can be proved that they did business."

Verus gives the smallest of shrugs. Through clenched teeth, he speaks softly to Inarin. He mutters to Inarin, "... is... we... the most attention, my Lord Captain." All the while, Verus' eyes continue to dart about the room, slowly, carefully, with a mad calm.

Elyse tilts her ear a bit in the direction of some of the voices, pausing a little longer at those she recognizes. In the direction of the Queen's voice, Elyse offers a deep and courtly curtsey, her slender hand resting over her breast, her head bowed deferentially. But she rises at Theowyn's address to offer him anothe courtly curtsey. Though she is blind, her keen sense of hearing makes it clear they are not alone, and since she is not certain of the identities to everyone who is there, she assumes formalities are in order, "Prince Theowyn," her voice warm, as is her smile, despite the formal speech, "Peace favour your sword." She remains on the arm of her escort, though he does pause. And the three Kandori men bow deeply to the notables in the room.

Inarin nods in agreement with Verus at that. He's obviously curious, however, his attention swinging back to the collected members of Andor's royal house.

Neri walks into the sitting room from the balcony.

Kellian touches Jane's shoulder lightly, not responding to Aislynn yet. "Inarin. I have a question for you." He says rather bluntly.

The glass doors of the balcony open, revealing one who has not been to the Palace in some months. There was no announcement or even letter made of her impending arrival. Neri Sedai pauses a moment, blue eyes taking stock of those around her, carefully studying each person. A touch of a smile comes to her face when she spies Aislynn, then later Theowyn.

Verus turns his hawkeye gaze onto Kellian, now, taking note of his informal manner with the Lord Captain.

Inarin's gaze lifts towards Kellian. "Yes, Captain-General?"

Edilim stands off to the side of the whole assembly quietly. The Ambassador observes the happenings carefully, down the length of his too-large nose. Otherwise, and as of yet, he is careful to have little affect on the proceedings.

Now, Aislynn begins to excitedly plunder the contents of the jewelry box, removing golden and platinum bracelets, tiny baby rings and other opulent objects, some clasped for a moment to her breast, her eyes closed as if in rememberance. She sits thus as Neri enters, lost to her own thoughts for the time being.

Royce and the other men at Tyrion's table quickly turn their gaze down to the cards...

Miles sighs as it seems any chances of a meeting are being drowned out from around him. Perhaps he should have waited until after to present hisgifts.

Verus's gaze turns briefly to Neri, but, seeing nothing amiss, return back to Kellian. A good thing she does not look like an Aes Sedai.

There is a moment's pause before Neri clears her throat, causing some attention to be drawn to herself. "Pardon me..." Her voice rings out clearly, a touch of wild, bubbling excitement within her azure eyes.

Kellian keeps his gaze on Inarin,"Do you know a man named Dashel?"

Cronus notes Neri's entrance and the queen's obliviousness to the world, he moves closer, He mutters to Aislynn, "... the... queen,... arrived."

Jane swallows, looking up at Kellian. Arms folding now.

"Why, yes. I do. I was speaking to him the other night and we offered him the opportunity to come with us and to learn of the Way of the Light. He agreed." Inarin peers at Kellian. "Is there a problem with this? He said he was off duty for a few days, and in addition, I have things to focus on here."

Aislynn opens her eyes immediately, and rises, shutting the jewelry box and clasping it to her body protectively. "Neri Sedai...." she says, smiling, though seeming confused. "I had not expected to see you back so soon." She shoots an apologetic look at Miles, making a gesture with one pale hand, signifying she will be with him momentarily.

Kellian has taken the book and nodded his thanks at Miles, then he looks at Jane,"Please tell me again what happened to you Jane and what you saw?"

Tyrion looks around the room, amusement touching his eyes. All the big strong men in the room and it is the women here that command the power. Turning his amused look on his companions, noses buried in study of cards already played on the table just to avoid looking at Neri.

Verus perks his eyebrows at mention of Neri /Sedai/, and he turns to look at the young woman being addressed so, his eyebrow raised in small confusion.

Verus leans over to whisperin Inarin's ear, He mutters to Inarin, "... has... ageless... how... accomplished..." He frowns deeper, clearly confused.

Jane protests, "I _told_ you." Edging back again. "They took him away. And the other one hit me. But that was the day before." Not really one for a well-told story, is Jane.

"In truth, Aislynn..." The voice that speaks comes from the young woman at the door, thusly addressed as Neri Sedai. "I had not expected to be here this very evening..." Her eyes go to the others surrounding their Queen, the woman which she addresses so unformally. There is a wide, warm smile on her features. "But the truth of the matter is, I just arrived a few scant minutes ago, from Tar Valon." There is no mention of other villages, and there is no dirt or other things which would be associated with a long journey's travel.

Now the young Queen no longer looks curious, but instead looks concerned. "Is all well, Neri?" She takes a few steps across the room toward the other Sister.

Theowyn steps to the side, seeming to slide an arm around Elyse's hand as the Princess approaches. Theowyn is concerned over some matter that Aislynn finds within the jewelry box, but when his gaze sets to Neri there is a certain level of surprise. "Neri...?" It is then that he looks to Elyse, whispering a few words just enough for her and a few others around to hear. "Neri Sedai is an old friend of our family. Aislynn and I were close to her, especially Aislynn," he explains quietly.

Kellian knows that method of travel very well, but is focused on Jane just now,"What other one hit you Jane? One like our esteemed guests Inarin and Verus?"

Looking surprised, Inarin stares at Jane, "One of them hit you? Which one?" He desn't dismiss the part about Dashel going with them, because he just said Dashel went with them, but he said willingly at that. After a murmued bit of conversation with Verus, he glances towards Theowyn, Neri, and Aislynn.

Cronus remains close to Aislynn, giving her the space she requires, but with so many about. That space doesn't seem enough for anyone to make a move without his interference.

Verus takes note of her immaculate travelling, as well. His eyebrows go from a raised state to attempting to climb up his forehead. It is quickly quelled, however, and Verus whispers something to Inarin. Indeed, this Verus Arctavius is quite an apt pupil.

Jane looks warily at Inarin, her edging now taking her closer to Kellian. "One of 'em that was with you. Not the one that said learn to read. Not the one that said it first." The arms unfold again, fists readier.

Edilim sighs lightly, wondering if Caemlyn nobles *ever* get to the point of a meeting.

Neri waits until Aislynn gets within speaking distance to impart her news. She mutters to Aislynn, "... and... Skimming!... fact... not... the... to... Caemlyn to see... weaving... bring... here, I... speak with... a brief... be... to return to... soon." Excitement does fill her eyes, and her words are spoken in a happy, animated manner.

Kellian reaches out and touches one of Jane's fists, lowering it by force if neccessary,"No one will hurt you here Jane. Tell me what happened to Master Dashel."

Inarin gives Verus an odd look, as if he's not sure of what he's talking about, but he turns his attention back to Neri before he turns to hear what Jane has to say. "I see. I wasn't aware of this. It hadn't been reported to me. I'll speak with the Child in question. But if you'll excuse me, I do have some business to attend to." He gestures towards the various nobility, perhaps hoping they'll start to get to the point.

The Kandori Honor Guard escort bows to Theowyn as he takes over the duty as Elyse's guide, and steps away from the pair, but not too far. All three HOnor Guard now move to various tactical positions within the room without being obtrusive. Elyse smiles gently to Theowyn's murmur and nods, "Oh, I see. An unexpected pleasure, I'm sure?" She seems to settle all too easily within Theowyn's voluntary escort, as if she belongs there.

Aislynn's eyes go wide for a moment, though she does not seem -very- surprised. She mutters to Neri, "... have heard of... Ter'Angreal,... delighted to... that... it.... glad... time."

Jane blinks up at Kellian, and does resist his pushing her fists down, though unsuccessfully. She nods doubtfully to Inarin and asks Kellian, "Go?"

Cronus frown at Inarin's blatent disregard for Kellian's question. Inarin seems to get most of his attention, *especially* with talk of Dashel.

Verus's complexion turns a nice, deathly white.

Kellian nods at the room, then looks to Jane,"Thank you." He turns on his heel and leaves with her.

Neri nods her head a touch, eyes becoming faintly saddened, She mutters to Aislynn, "... Caenna.... her..." She gazes about the room again, taking note of those present, glancing back to Aislynn, she speaks softly, "I don't want to take up any more of your time.... we really should be getting back. I will keep in touch with you, and perhaps come for a visit soon."

Jane descends the white spiral, headed for the lower levels of the Palace.

Aislynn nods and reaches out to lightly grasp Neri's hands in her own. "Thank you, Sister. It is heartening to see you again. I hate to be so abrupt, but urgent matters press here." She gestures idly with a pale hand in the direction of Miles and those gathered near him. "The Light illumine your steps, Neri."

Kellian descends the white spiral, headed for the lower levels of the Palace.

Inarin mutters to Verus, "... working... a... ideas... We'll... back at... farm and I'll... here for now."

"Of course..." A blush does form on the young Sedai's features, just now realizing a touch fo what she's done. "If you'll pardon me.." The excited Mistress of Novices speaks as she now backs through the balcony doors. Without further words, she turns and exists.

Neri walks leaves the sitting room and walks out onto the balcony.

Verus nods, saluting Inarin, "Light illumine and protect, my Lord Captain." His gaze wanders over to the occupied Queen, then surveys the room once more, before departing, in as much enigmacy as he entered. And wearing a much deeper frown.

Miles has been watching from a detached distance as all this has been going on. He knows very few of the people involved. Amazing how this room can go from empty to full so quickly. He awaits the Queen's word.

Tyrion raises a questioning eyebrow to Tyrion, "Thought she just got here......", he head motions on the balcony door that Neri exited through.

Verus descends the white spiral, headed for the lower levels of the Palace.

"Please excuse the interruption, my good Ambassador," Aislynn inclines her head apologetically to Miles. "Your gracious gifts can wait, despite the fact that my heart is much warmed at their return to me. I believe more pressing matters are to be discussed?"

Edilim gives another nudge to his page, glad to get the talks under way. Edilim clasps thin hands behind his back, shifting his stance as to be most comfortable standing for a while.

Miles nods his head. "I would speak with you and the children concerning a proposal which has been put forward by my King." He looks to Inarin. "You are empowered to negotiate on behalf of the children of the Light?"

"As ranking officer within Andor, and commander of the Andoran Legion of Children, the answer would be yes." Inarin nods towards Miles at that.

Miles nods his head graciously. 'Excellent. We in Murandy have a problem that we believe you can help us with."

Aislynn's blonde brows rise slightly at this, and she nods her head, looking curious. She moves to sit down in a high-backed chair, looking to both Inarin and Miles quizzically. "And what exactly would this 'proposal' entail, good Ambassador?"

Theowyn squeezes Elyse's arm in reassurances as he brings them into this conversation. With a heavy breath, he looks to Inarin and Miles, and then considers where this could lead.

Cronus looks to Inarin, leaving his place at the queen's side slightly, his eyes still watchful but not so attentative to detail at the moment as they are more focused on Inarin, "Lord-Captain Inarin, did I understand right that _guardsman_" the word is slightly stressed and the tone somewhat heated but he is definately in control of it all, projecting his normal buisness face, "Dashel, is in your care?"

Elyse follows Theowyn's lead quietly. Only the whisk-whisk sound of her silken skirts give her away. She remains dutifully quiet for now, until addressed, but she is clearly attentive, her body-language suggesting that her ears are tuned in to the converstation she's been brought into. For now, she remains on Theowyn's arm. Her sightless gaze falling to rest on a point directly ahead of her.

Miles says "Our quandry is this...strange things are happening on the border between Murandy and Andor. *he looks to all parties concerned* I believe we can all agree on that. Many of these occurances have been quite...disturbing. Many seek to blame my king for this...and many in my country seek to blame the Queen of Andor. The sad reality is that no one really knows what is going on. We in Murandy lack the resources to properly look after our part of the border, and Andor seems too large...*he stops himself before he offends the military sorts in the room by suggesting they can't watch their border either* What we want...is for a third party to intercede on our behalf and provide an objective view of the situation."

Ignoring Cronus for the moment, quite deliberately, Inarin focuses his attention on Aislynn, Miles, and Edilim. It seems that the matters of borders and tense nations has more of his attention than a matter he had explained moments before.

Aislynn leans back in her chair, listening quietly, her sharp, cold eyes not leaving Miles for the moment, as she rests her elbows upon the arms of her chair, steepling her fingers in front of her contemplatively. "Go on..." she murmurs, quietly. Perhaps not sounding altogether pleased at this ensuing prospect.

Edilim takes this moment to step forward a few paces. He does not intend to speak, judging by the set of his mouth, just to be seen. And so that all know he is in this as much as they are. Or at least to suggest so.

Or perhaps the outrageously bold knave will just be ignored out of hand. ;)

In no way does Cronus, take to be ignored. Especially when his word is at stake, but he does remain cordial. He is a guard and is in the Queen's presence, of who he is sworn to protect. His bearing taking hold with effort, his calm facade seeming to remain... for the time being.

Miles says "With the children there to keep order perhaps these unfortunate occurances will stop. Everyone fears the light afterall. And should something untoward happen...they will be there to see it first hand and provide testimony from a neutral standpoint. The children have no reason to lie afterall. What say you Lord Captain Inarin?"

Tyrion reaches a casual hand out to the cards laying piled ont he low table in front of him and his companions, "Game is over...." A few curious looks from Royce and the other two and Tyrion reassures them , "...and yes you can have the money you wagered on that hand back..." He shakes his head in mock annoyance.

Theowyn shoots Cronus a look in warning after his words were spoken to Inarin. At Miles' words, he sees where this is going, and looks almost interested. At Miles' question, Thoewyn looks to Inarin.

Quiet for a moment, Inarin bows his head in thought. There's some form of internal debate going on there. "The border is not necessarily what needs all of the protection the Children of the Light can offer. A full hundred of my Children were slaughtered by forces within the borders of Andor. A full hundred slain by some unknown party." His gaze lifts up. "I will guard the border," he says simply, "But I will need to call in additional soldiers to do so. I will not allow those who have slain my brothers under the Light to go unpunished if we can find them."

You sense Cronus meets eyes, and the unrest is quite vigilant there. He seems to be holding his calm only because of /where/ they are. Almost ready to go gather guards to go to the Child's camp right now... if he new he could.

Miles blinks and seems...taken aback by this news to say the least. "perhaps you and I..." he pauses "And all of us, are afflicted by a common ailment."

Aislynn casts a look at Theowyn...a sharp look...but does not yet comment upon these proceedings. Yet.

Edilim chimes in. "Tear has long respected the goals and allies of the Children of the Light. I would like to offer the forces under the command of my Lord to asisst in any way possible." A light smile turns up those thin lips, he speaks to Inarin and Miles directly.

Aislynn glances now for the first time at the scrawny old man--Edilim. Her eyes narrow slightly, though she does incline her head politely in his direction. "Ambassador," Aislynn begins, in brisk, efficient tones. "Whose border will the Children protect? Yours, on the Murandian side? Perhaps I am not altogether certain of what it is that you propose."

Elyse blinks a few times, still over that vacant gaze. Her head remains tilted slightly in the direction of the voices immediately before her. The Princess of Kandor does not move from Theowyn's side, her hand still threaded around his arm, and resting there lightly.

Miles turns to Edilim as he speaks for the first time. "All help anyone would be willing to provide would be much appreciated. There is some force at work amongst us that we must all cooperate to silence. My king believes he has identified that force. Wether he has truly or has not though, is notwhat is important. What is important is that we all work together to save peace while we can."

Miles takes a moment to answe the queen's question.

Theowyn looks to Aislynn, quietly noting some mannerism before turning to the others. "Andor needs no guardians for its border," he states flatly. "The Children of the Light have their collection of men within Andor's soil. An unbias patrol, would be more the suggestion then, Ambassador? A patrol large enough to defend itself, but taking a neutral stance in terms of conflict."

Miles says "Exactly what my king had in mind Prince Theowyn."

Seething, quietly, Inarin works to reign in emotions brought bubbling back up to the surface by the mention of the deaths of so many of his comrades-in-arms. He takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly, looking between those gathered.

Miles looks to Inarin. "If the source of our troubles are the same Lord Captain, perhaps you should recount to those present exactly what befell your hundred man?

Tyrion grins slightly as he shuffles the cards out of habit in his tiny hands...

Edilim turns to Aislynn. "Good Queen of Andor, I have merely offered my asisstance. Were Murandy's safety and Andor's safety both to be troubled, Tear would be in a sad state of affairs indeed. I of course, will not bore you with matters of trade with which you're already familiar." He waves a hand in the direction of Miles and Inarin. "Guarding Murandy's side alone is quite acceptable if it falls within your wishes and is allowed by all sides in this affair. I only wish to see the stability of this region restored." He fills every word with confidence that rings in truth. However, his words so often hold that quality. Is it that he always speaks truthful notions, or that he is so well practiced at imitating such?

Tilting his head back up, Inarin starts.. "Two Hundreds of Children were dispatched to investigate a rumor of a movement of a large number of men. Standard procedure for such a thing." Inarin shrugs his shoulders. "By the time my Hundred caught up with the one already dispatched, we were too late and only saw the corpses of our own men scattered inbetween a pair of hills near a small villiage."

Elyse lets out a small gasp at that revelation provided by the Lord Commander, but then lapses into silence once more.

Miles frowns and looks to the Queen to see her reaction to all this. it is happening on her own soil afterall. This seems to him that it lends credence to his King's case.

Andrew, one of the two smallet men at Tyrion's table is the one who beginds to speak this time, "Light...that's..." only to be cut off short this time by Royce, "Shhh...you'll have us bedding in some backroom..."

Cronus seems to be unmoved by the touching, more concern with his comrade in the WC custody.

Aislynn listens quietly to all of the various men, turning her head at the sound of the shuffling cards and noting--seemingly for the first time--the presence of Tyrion. She arches a brow, and then inclines her head in his direction...him being one of her kin and all. She then turns her attention back to the main conversation, looking troubled.

"The identities of these men are still unknown, but we encounterd them ourselves. A sizeable number. They were three to one against us, at least, and had surrounded us when we took residence within the nearest villiage to question it's residents about what they'd seen, as well as give our horses a chance to rest."

Miles looks around. "That circumstance sound familiar to anyone else here?" If kellian were present no doubt he would think so.

"Lord Captain," Theowyn begins, somehow managing to brush aside Miles' proposal for the moment. "As you know, our own have suffered numbers at the attack of this unmarked army. I would feel more comfortable discussing this matter if I were better aware of the Children's intentions within our borders at it stands. I certainly see the value in a referee between a border that holds disputes. I grow concerned at furthering the Children's numbers in Andor, when not all seem as compromising to our ways as we have found yourself to be."

Elyse gives Theowyn's arm a subtle squeeze of support, but remains dutifully quiet. For now.

Aislynn frowns, listening quietly. "Another such attack occurred on Andoran soil?" Another referring to the attack at the small village (the name of which escapes Ais' player at the moment. Arg.)

Cronus seems pained at Theo's words and for the moment, faltered from his determined eye, yet he does not waver. He watches, Inarin, awaiting the answer to his earlier question.

Tyrion gives a snort then moves his hand to fake a cough.

Aislynn frowns, listening quietly..with rapt seriousness. "Another such attack occurred on Andoran soil? Perpetrated in the same manner as that incident at Tolmec?" She lifts a brow, surveying first Theowyn and then Miles, Inarin, Cronus....and the scrawny old man.

Edilim shakes his head at all this talk of slaughter. Such a pity, a dire tragedy. His expression betrays his thoughts as plainly as though he had spoken aloud.

"They were after one specific man, a man who had apparently deserted their army. Upon slaying him, they left, took their leave of us." Inarin shakes his head, slowly, anger evident in his expression.

"It all took place in the Caralain Grass, far north of here," Inarin shakes his head.

Surprisingly, Aislynn reaches out to lightly touch Inarin's hand. "Lord Captain, I am sorry to hear of your loss." Dropping her hand after giving the Child the seemingly reassuring touch, she turns to Miles. "It would seem, indeed, that these troubles plague us all...as you say."

Miles nods his head. "Then we can both agree to give the children the cooperation they need should they choose to take up the responsibility of this patrol?"

Inarin shifts slightly, body tense. "We all are," He whispers quietly, shaking his head. He looks towards Theowyn, "As to answer your earlier question, the Children's goal has always been the same. To defend the Light-Serving and to spread the Way of the Light. Andor is a huge country, and requires more units to spread the Way. We stand as we always have stood."

Cronus leans down to whisper to Aislynn, not wishing to intrude on the whole of the facilities.

"How many men would you need, Lord Captain?" Theowyn asks, fading in thought as he turns his gaze on Elyse. There's another reassured squeeze of her arm, and in that action he turns to Aislynn in question. "This may not be decided this evening, though it is certainly a matter to consult with?" It is a half question, as he looks to his sister.

"As does my brother Theowyn, I hesitate to give the Children any sort of authority in Andor. It is absolutely unprecedented. We currently have a non-aggression Treaty with the children." Aislynn pauses to consider this for a moment, before continuing. "However, if the Lord Captain Commander Emrich were to give me his word, I would take it under consideration."

Nodding at that, Inarin says, "I agree. I have to look at maps and consult with a few of my officers to find out the feasibility of such an undertaking, before I can completely agree to it." He folds his hands together behind his back, then blinks at Aislynn's mention. Something about the mention of Emich troubles him, obviously, though he does his best to conceal that. Yeah. Right.

Tyrion widens his eyes, then looks to Royce, playing dumb....well perhaps not playing at all. The other two men don't quite realize the impact of what is going on here...light burn the politically blind.

Edilim says "And let us not forget that with my offered aid, the Children of the Light needn't spread themselves so thin throughout the land. House Devorae can easily summon one hundred fine Tairen cavalry in a matter of a week. Two hundred foot in a while longer."

Miles says "My king is willing to extend the first olive branch in this matter by giving the children the authority they need in murandy. Despite his less than sterling reputation...he desires only peace"

Cronus takes in Inarin's reactions to the words Aislynn speaks, his eyes seeming to be in a brief state of shock for a moment before he averts them to look elsewhere for once. Rather than staring at Inarin.

Aislynn nods to whatever Cronus has said to her. "A very good idea, Leiutenant." She turns to look at the others, nodding to Edilim. "Cronus has even just now suggested the very same thing, Ambassador Edilim. A =joint= patrol with all who are involved would be ideal. We could share resources and, as you say, share the burden without spreading any one group too thinly."

Miles looks to Edilim "Perhaps you and I can get together and negotiate the precise details of your houses involvment tomorrow evening ambassador?"

Miles looks to all parties concerned now. "Can we agree to consider this and decide the matter the next time we resolve to meet?"

"I see no trouble with that." Inarin replies.

Edilim nods lightly in turn to Aislynn, then Miles. "Of course. I wouldn't think of taking too many liberties with a military force in a land that is foreign from my own. We wish only to make things easier, and I will be glad to negotiate these matters at a later time, Ambassador Miles."

Aislynn inclines her head to Miles' suggestion. "That sounds agreeable to me, good Ambassador. There is strength in numbers. Perhaps, together..with unity...we can defeat this unknown force."

Miles seems utterly and completely relieved. "It warms my heart to know that through all the animosity and adverse cricumstances we can still come together to find solutions to our many and varied difficulties. I am at all of your disposals should you wish to speak on this further." he looks to Aislynn. "I shall have the remainder of the items sent to me by my King brought to you with all haste Queen Aislynn. Please let me know when you wish to reconvene to discuss these matters."

Tyrion taps his fingers annoyingly on the chair arm...the fact that he is sitting on a pillow allows him to be high enough up to do so.

Elyse mentally absorbs all of this to go over later with Advisor Timuri of the Kandori presense. She remains silent yet. Not volunteering her thoughts or suggestions until asked to do so. She is, after all, merely a guest of Andor.

"At everyone's earliest convenience, Ambassador Danforth," Aislynn replies, including Edilim and Inarin in her comment.

Cronus seems humble at the moment, nodding to the point brought up. Although he does not seem to want the credit, but he will accept it non-the-less. His eyes go back to Inarin, taking only moments every now and then to scan the room. Inarin is definately the center of his thoughts.

Looking back towards Aislynn and Theowyn, Inarin says, with a bit of throat-clearing beforehand, "There is one more matter I wish to discuss with the both of you, privately."

"And thank you again, Sir Danforth," Aislynn continues, graciously, "for the items you have returned. You cannot know how much they mean to me." She turns at the sound of Inarin's voice, and looks curious, inclining her head in assent. "Of course. We can speak in my waiting room."

Edilim bows once to Aislynn, and nods to Inarin and Miles. "Light shelter and protect, Queen Aislynn, Lord Captain Inarin, Ambassador Miles."

Aislynn rises from her seat, and bows at the waist to both Edilim and Miles. "The Light illumine you both, kind Sirs..."

Miles nods graciously to Edilim. "I shall send word to you by tomorrow afternoon ambassador."

Miles bows to the queen as she leaves. Most show respect where it is due afterall

Cronus continues to watch the room, even more wary now that every one is in motion, although Inarin's words also seem to be part of that reason as well.

Inarin steps towards the waiting room, quietly, waiting for Aislynn and Theowyn to go in first. They are, after all, the nobility of Andor and so.

Aislynn makes a reassuring gesture to Cronus. "We will be but a moment, Leiutenant. You may rest at the door, within the range of voice..." She walks toward her chambers, taking it for granted that Inarin and Theowyn shall follow.

Aislynn steps briskly through a pair of gilded doors, into the Queen's Chambers.

Inarin walks through a pair of gilded doors, into the Queen's Chambers.

Theowyn nods quietly in consideration, and looks to Elyse. "Princess, I will not be long, I'm sure." With that he departs.

The Queen's Suite: Royal Palace of Andor, Caemlyn(#755RAJLMV$)

"On one of the bodies of my Children, a brand was found. Though I didn't recognize it, one of my men did. HE was certain that the brand belonged to House Errene." Inarin says, simply.

Barely does she get a chance to sit before this is dropped upon her lap, and Aislynn frowns darkly. "The rising Phoenix symbol?"

"The crescent and the Phoenix." Inarin says simply. "I would not bring this up out there, but here I must as a citizen of Andor."

Aislynn inclines her head, "I thank you for bringing us this information, Lord Captain. This becomes more and more troubling indeed..."

Theowyn's eyes cloud over with a most immidiate hatred.

"You're welcome." Inarin says, keeping it quick and to the point. "I'll take my leave of you now."

Aislynn gestures toward the door in dismissal. "Of course, Lord Captain. The Light illumine you, and goodnight."
