Summary:Cronus hands in his resignation personally to Theowyn. The resignation is over Durnik's removal as Captain-General.

Cronus is standing in front of the balcony window. Where he usually does in contemplating something. As a door opens and closes behind him he turns and looks to Theowyn, bowing his head as a hand moves to his heart but not to salute but remove the badge he wears.

Theowyn enters the scene with some of the trusted members of the Queen's Guard that serve to protect him. As his attentions fall on Cronus, he does change the course of direction and move toward him. "Is there an issue with your title, Lt.?"

Elyse arrives from the Kamikatsu Royal Apartments.

Elyse has arrived.

Cronus nods, and offers it out, "I'm sorry my prince... but... I have debated this for a few days and other courses must be taken..." he is definately not the Cronus you know as if he is being careful and hiding more, just what that might be is hard to depict

Theowyn attentions moves to the Kamikatsu Royal Apartments with the hint of noise, seeking to go that way and already distracted from Cronus. Though he does turn back to Cronus. "What have you decided then, Lt.?"

Cronus takes a breath, "To resign, my prince." this is says with brief hesitation not moing his eyes from Theowyn.

Theowyn's eyes garden, taking to Cronus in a very certain matter. "You can do as you wish. If you feel the Queen's Guard does not offer you security, nor a future..." Theowyn frowns a touch. "Certainly I thought the pension offered from the Queen's Guard is generous, you will not have benefit of that in resignation. Is it worth it, Lt? To serve a Lord over your Queen?"

The door to the Kamikatsu Royal Suite opens and Princess Elyse steps out, two paces, without the arm of her usual escort, Lt. Commander Sohai. He is right behind her though and his long legs take no time to catch up, and stand beside her, with his arm bent for her to grasp as he expects her to. She pauses where she stands, though, sightless eyes falling on the distance ahead of her. Her mildly vexed expression fades as she hears voices, particularly Theowyn's, and she fashions a genuine, though small and distracted, smile across her Kandori features. She does not, pointedly, reach for the arm beside her that she senses is there. A subtle insult, and ione in which Sohai shows no recognition to have noticed it.

Cronus closes his eyes, before opening them with a fevor burning there. He is not liking the events this is turning towards. "Yes /my/ prince it is worth it, and might be for you as well." although the ambiguity of that statement is hard to tell what it really means. The badge still being offered out to Theowyn to accept."

Theowyn shows no hint of understanding Cronus' meaning, his eyes flaring briefly as he takes the patch from Cronus. "You do as you wish, Master Cronus, but know the cost of your sacrifice." The next are harder words. "You may remove yourself from the Palace. Security is a concern within, and you will have no reason to be here." Theowyn shows no sympathy. "Lord Durnik will lead you to a doom, as he nearly did Andor." With that said, he departs Cronus and heads toward the Princess, knowing full well that he needed to make an example of Cronus. "Princess Elyse..." his voice has calmed some.

Without Sohai's assistance, and thereby noticeably cautious and slow in her pace, Princess Elyse moves a bit further into the noble's sitting room until she senses Theowyn's approach--at that she pauses, gratefully letting the Prince come to her instead. Sohai easily keeps in step beside her until she stops, though he has lowered his offered arm--his face betraying no emotion as to the subtle insult. A pair of additional Honor Guard follow behind. "Forgive me," Elyse states in a rich borderland accent, "Am I interrupting something?"

Cronus bows to all in the room and with a look of grief to Theowyn he starts out taking him near Theowyn. Keen ears may notice his words, "yet Durnik will not get another..." a hint of Cronus's true reason or babblings or is it more who is to say

A hinting smile comes to Theowyn in response. The Prince is all too aware of past disagreements between Cronus and Durnik. "Light Illume your path, Cronus..." he tells the man, and then fully settles his attentions on Elyse. "Not at all Princess, a matter of the Queen's Guard that required attention, though now is completed."

Cronus is out the door, with hurried movements anger? frustration in his step? who is to say. But he is not happy at this and wants to make sure all who really notice these precedings take it as a major falling out on Cronus' part,

Elyse smiles, finally offering the curtsey that etiquette dictates, "I hope things are well, Prince Theowyn?" she asks, her head tilting a moment as her ears register Cronus' departure. Sohai watches stoicly, for his part, but withdraws a pace or two away from Elyse and Theowyn, now that the Prince has arrived before her.

Cronus descends the white spiral, headed for the lower levels of the Palace.

Cronus has left.

Rudra leaves with Cronus.

Rudra has left.

Theowyn does bow in response to the curtsey, though having nearly removed himself from formality about the Princess. "As well as expected, I suppose. There will be those less confident of the wisdom of their royal family." The words are stated harder then expected. "Princess, a servant hinted at a letter from your father. I've been rather eager in returning to my chambers so that I may hear his response." Those eyes move to Sohai briefly.

Sohai's shift as well, from watching the surroundings to glancing at the Prince, then they glance away quickly again. The rest of his features remain unrevealing. The Princess, however, does not have the luxury of such a poker face, and though she gives a valiant effort to disguise her eagerness to hear the news herself, she fails. Her mouth forming a excited and pleased smile, her eyebrows arch, and the pitch of her voice all indicate she'd rather do nothing than accompany the Prince back to his chambers to hear the news directly as he reads it--as inappropriate as she knows that would be. "Truly? Oh, then, I'll not impose upon your time, my Prince," she offers another curtsey, "Perhaps you will have an opportunity to share what news my father offers anon." Dipping her head again, "At your convenience, of course, my Prince."
