We've all seen at least one of them -- those truly AWFUL sites which hurt the senses, confuse the eye, and inspire groans of agony. It is amazing what some folks will do to get your attention, and to get you to sign the ever-present guestbook, and it doesn't seem to occur to these folks that they've 1) crashed your browser, 2) annoyed the H-E-doublehockeysticks out of you, 3) made a mockery of English Grammar and Syntax (we're talking about NATIVE english speaking people here!), and/or 4) blinded you for life.

Now don't get me wrong -- I'm all for innovation on the web, and I love to play with somebody's wonderfully creative mouseover as much as the next person. But when the site in question has AWFUL graphics, AWFUL layout, AWFUL content, AWFUL gimmicks, AWFUL code-use, and AWFUL fonts, and in addition contains pitiful pleas to visitors to sign the dang guestbook then the site in question has reached a new level -- it is BAAAAAD!

Why do they do it? Okay, so part of it must be a learning curve, seeing what works and what doesn't, and playing with new toys. But you'd think these folks could see the effect the final version actually produces upon the fragile human psyche! Okay, I know what you're thinking -- and I concur that it is possible that these folks may just suffer from a terminal case of TACKYITIS.
