TFW stands for Teaching for Webheads. Joining this list will put you in touch with other teachers who share your interest in using free web-based tools to facilitate authentic and purely communicative target language interactions online. This list is one of these tools. Hopefully, list members will make each other aware of many more and provide each other with opportunities to learn about and practice their use.

We use YahooGroups at http://www.yahoogroups.com

There are possibly out of date instructions at http://www.netword.com/*egroups_password for getting a password to the http://www.yahoogroups.com site so that you can fully utilize the features available there as an egroup member. These features include the ability to:

• read the archive of all posted email
• search and sort postings according to various criteria; e.g. subject or author
• get a list of all urls mentioned in email
• upload to and access the "vault" or document storage
• update your personal info available to all members of the group
• set your preferences for receiving mail from the group in individual emails, digest, or read-it-on-the-web mode
• chat with other egroup members
• see a list of all egroup members and download their email addresses
