Dear All,
I'm Sergei and I teach EFL/ESL at Belarus State University, Minsk, Belarus ( hope you know where it is ). The Internet is a buzz word here and we have fun with it , especially email. My students are majoring international Law at the Faculty of International Relations.
I've been using the Internet and some of its tools since last year. I 've started a discussion list at eGroups.com . CollegeFolk eGroup is my first project which is aimed at developing students' writing skills. It goes OK, but we feel very frustrated 'cause the Internet is very slow in Belarus and we usually wait for hours to log in.
I'd like to experiment with some other tools like chat, net conferencing and the like. The idea of 'virtual workshops featuring a special aspect of WAI " is great !
