Welcome to the home page of the

Westminster Choral Arts Society

The Westminster Choral Arts Society (WCAS) was founded in 1977 in order to bring choral masterworks to Carroll County, Maryland, and its environs. Originally (and still formally) The Choral Arts Society of Carroll County, WCAS continues the fine music tradition of its rich heritage. Active membership is around 50 singers who are recruited from various locales, including Westminster, Hampstead, Hanover, Littlestown, Frederick, Columbia, Ellicott City, Owings Mills, Reisterstown, Randallstown, and Baltimore City.

We are actively recruiting new singers. If you love choral music and have always wanted to participate in singing and performing great choral works, come join us.

New and experienced singers are welcome. Sight reading ability preferable, practice tapes provided.

Our conductor and music director, Douglas Brandt Byerly, is a professional with a Master of Music Education/Choral Conducting from The Peabody Conservatory of Music of The Johns Hopkins University.
