WCW Female Search Under Wave

Dave Meltzer reported that WCW is looking for new
women including fitness models and Penthouse models. It's quite possible this
new talent hunt is a direct result of the requests by the current Nitro Girls
for more money. The timing seems to indicate a not-so-subtle signal to the
girls that WCW is sticking to its more fiscally responsible mode since Bill
Busch assumed the financial reins. Although rumors that Torrie Wilson was
negotiating with the WWF may have prompted WCW to drop its hard line tactics
and resume discussions on the contract that Wilson ultimately signed, it's
also true that she got nowhere near the $450,000 for which she was reportedly
asking. Meltzer, Ryder, and Mark Madden have all reported that she agreed to
an annual salary in the $200,000 to $250,000 range
