Vince Russo and Kevin Sullivan fighting for power backstage in WCW and more on the Nitro Girls demanding higher pay
|
According to Wade Keller of the Pro Wrestling Torch, Kevin Sullivan took a shot recently at Russo backstage saying that the ratings have not shown any big increases since he took over as the company's head writer. Russo either replied back to Sullivan with "Mind your own business" or "Fuck Off." Sullivan has politically aligned himself with Craig Leathers and Annette Yothers who are in Vince Russo's dog house. Sullivan, apparently, doesn't like the job that Russo and Ferrara have done producing WCW televising. Kevin Nash, on the other hand, is said to be playing both sides of the fence, as he is waiting to align himself with either group until one shows signs of dominance and long-term power. Kevin Nash has been on good terms with Sullivan in the past, and he is said to be the one responsible for helping Sullivan obtain a decent pay raise back while Eric Bischoff was the Vice President of WCW. Sullivan believes that he has Bill Busch's ear and he has been quick to point out flaws that he sees in Russo's (and to a lesser extent, Ferrara's) booking style. Keller concludes that Busch is doubtful about what Sullivan has to say, and while Busch agrees with Sullivan on the surface, Busch, privately, forms his own conclusions. - The Nitro Girls have been demanding an increase in their pay over the last several weeks. As it appears, their contracts call for substantial pay raises if they are labeled as television talent. The Girls believes that since they are now managing, involved in angles, doing backstage interviews, and even wrestling in some cases, they should be given that label. They have been telling many WCW wrestlers that if WCW doesn't meet their demands, then that would be breach of contract. In addition, they also claim that they are legally allowed to freely go to the WWF as a unit. Meanwhile, many WCW wrestlers who have heard this recent story think the Girls have planned this from the start and it is the main reason as to why they've sought for on-air roles. Many wrestlers have also grown tired from their complaints and have told them that the WWF would have no use for them if they are to leave. The Torch says that most of the wrestlers believe that WCW officials would let them go and replace them with new dancers rather than giving them the type of money they are demanding.
