Huge News Update: 12/18/99: Why Axl Rotten was fired, Who will Kimona manage in WCW, More Cactus Jack News, David Flair signed, & Tons More...
|
First off, with all the WWF's New York Restraunt news, where did this leave WCW's Nitro Grill in the past month? Interesting enough, the Las Vegas Business Wire reported yesterday that "American Vantage Cos." [Nasdaq: AVCSD] subsidiary, WCW Nitro Grill, has received a 1999 Tourism Development Award from Nevada's 16th Annual Governor's Conference on Travel & Tourism. For more on The Nitro Grill, check out it's official site at NitroGrill.com. Bryan Alvarez of the Figure Four Weekly Newsletter, reported that the WWF's Developmental contract signings continue. This time, they've temporarily hired Ohio Valley Wrestling high-flyer Mike Samples. He was recommended to WWF by the head of the WWF's new Dojo, Jim Cornette. Also in talks with the WWF for the same type of deal; yet another Indy star, Ian Rotten. By now, I'm sure you've heard those rumors of HHH vs. Cactus Jack, heading up the Royal Rumble. Well, I don't know if WWF's trying to foreshadow that truth, but if you look on their newly opened site, WWFRoyalRumble.com, you'll see Mick Foley wearing Cactus Jack attire, on the main logo. Not a trace of Mankind clothing; and to back up that rumor even more, the DirecTV Raw Preview says "The Fate of Mankind." Hmm... Speaking of WWF's newly opened sites, they've just opened a "Year In Review" site, which can be found at "www.attitude99.com". This week was fairly busy for WWF and websites, as they've opened up sites for such wrestlers as The Big Show, The Kat [Miss Kitty], & more, so be sure to check out WWF.com for more details, today. And back to Mick Foley news, he'll be featured in the "New Yorker", on the December 20th issue. There's going to be an 8-page feature covering the sudden success of his Autobiography, titled; "Have a Nice Day!". For more on that, check out NewYorker.com... Ric Flair on the outs'..., David Flair on the... In? Apparently, WCW and David Flair have met to a contract agreement, to end their current pay-per-appearance type of deal. While, on the other hand, we have Ric trying to get out of his current contract, and pull one last stint in the WWF. More on both contracts as the information comes to me. This has been a confusing week considering the whereabouts of former ECW-valet, Kimona. To ignite the confusion, her official site said she and the WWF reached a deal, and she was going to manage Fatu upon her arrival. The next day, we find out that WCW has signed her, [and that's the truth] and she's expected to debut at Starrcade, with a cheerleader type gimmick. Well, one last thing to make the situation climax at confusion; she'll most likely end up at Lex Luger's side. Her gimmick will be an annoying, yet rowdy type of deal, to continue the feud of Luger vs. Sting. Guys..., does that means we'll be seeing Kimona vs. Liz?... Ah', who isn't in the Holiday spirit yet? I know that former WWF manager, "Classy" Freddy Blassy is, because every year, he becomes Santa Clause for a few hours, the week before Christmas. This legendary manager is dressed up as Santa Clause and stays at the WWF headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, welcoming over hundred children of employees of the World Wrestling Federation. I guess the Christmas spirit is already running in full force back there! If you're in the area, catch him today, and various other times this week... Once again, Bill Banks was on WCW: Live!, last night. Among clearing up numerous rumors, and backstage situations, he said that a new tag team will be at Nitro this Monday. He said it's a team that's been together, "but somewhere else". I have an idea who, but I'm not gonna' start rumors; guess we'll have to wait and see. :-) Lastly, the apparent reason why Axl Rotten was fired by ECW yesterday afternoon have come about. From what it seems to look like now, his problems with ECW exploded during last weeks tour of Virginia and Delaware. Wade Keller reports that the problems began after Axl Rotten complained that he had only one t-shirt for sale when others who haven't been in the company very long have more. Reports are that Tommy Dreamer, upon hearing the news, was very upset but did not approach Rotten directly about it. Instead, ECW officials decided to take matters in their own hands, and fire him. I find this a little awkward of a story to fire a man, but I guess the story is still developing, so stay updated.
