News on Chris Jericho, Steve Austin, Royal Rumble, Bischoff and more
|
- Mike Mooneyham reported there's speculation that Kevin Nash is behind HHH's troubles with Chris Jericho. Nash and Helmsley are still good friends and sources point out that Nash was behind Goldberg's decision earlier in the year to veto a proposed angle with Goldberg by citing Jericho's small size as the reason. - Mark Madden said on WCW Live! that he has heard people told Jericho that Vince McMahon confronted him as a "test" to see how he would handle at stressful situation. - Cody Monk of the Dallas Morning News reported that Steve Austin won't be appearing on television for the WWF anytime soon. There had been speculation that Austin might make an appearance before his January 11 surgery, but Stone Cold told Monk "I just need a little time to sit back and look at things with nothing clouding my mind." Austin, who lives near Dallas, said if he had been planning on showing up prior to his surgery, it would've been at the December 20 Raw in Houston or the December 21 Smackdown tapings in Dallas. The WWF returns to Dallas on February 7 for Raw. Austin is scheduled for six to eight weeks of rehabilitation following his surgery, and he told Monk he'd decide later whether or not he'll make a non-wrestling appearance at the February 7 Raw. - Rick Scaia reported that beginning with the Royal Rumble, all WWF pay-per-views will be available Down Under on Foxtel's Main Event. Pressure from viewers may also force Foxtel to bring its Raw and Heat programming up to date. Those shows currently air on a two-week delay. The changes would bring WWF into line with WCW in Australia. WCW pay-per-views are already shown there, and Nitro is seen the same week the original program airs in the United States. - On Byte This! Kevin Kelly said there's no truth to the Internet rumor that Chyna is pregnant. - WCW Live! reported Eric Bischoff may be involved in WCW storylines somewhere down the line.
