Another update on Steve Austin condition
|
Steve Austin's attitude towards returning to the ring has made a complete turn since mid-November. The Pro Wrestling Torch reports at that time he was less anxious to return to the ring than ever, but now it appears that attitude has faded. Now, Austin is actually excited about the possibility of returning to the ring after going through six-to-eight weeks of extreme rehabilitation following his upcoming January 11th surgery. However, Austin's optimism remains guarded. With his surgery taking place on January 11, this leaves him around eleven weeks to recover enough to be a part of WrestleMania on April 2, most likely not as a wrestler but possibly as a special guest referee or a commentator. At this point, the WWF isn't planning for Austin to be a part of WrestleMania. Austin and The Rock talk on the phone several times a week, and Austin has expressed to The Rock and several others the possibility and anxiousness of returning to the ring and becoming the hottest heel in wrestling, while feuding with The Rock. Wade Keller adds that this change to optimism is most likely due to ever-improving evaluations on his neck and its condition, with Austin's doctor, Henry Bohlman, letting Austin know the surgery could fix up enough of his problems that it would allow him to return and be healthier than he has been in more than 2 years.
