News on WCW's millennium show, and Royal Rumble winner to get title shot at Wrestlemania

WCW announced on Nitro last night that WCW will have a Millennium show on Wednesday, January 29 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. EST on TNT. The show will feature matches from Nitro's past which will include the first ever Nitro match between Jushin Liger and Brian Pillman and Goldberg's first title win.
- Scherer said he has talked to some people in the WWF who have told him that the winner of the Royal Rumble will get a title shot at Wrestlemania. Scherer pointed out that Wrestlemania is still slated to be the Rock vs. Triple H for the title in the main event. He said that unless someone wins the Rumble and gets screwed out of the title shot somehow, this means the Rock will be winning the Rumble this year. There had been many rumors that Tazz was going to win the Rumble. Scherer said the WWF still has big plans for Tazz when he debuts.
- Wade Keller reported it has confirmed current plans are for the winner of the Royal Rumble to still get the title shot at Wrestlemania. The most likely scenario is for Triple H to defend against Cactus Jack at the Rumble and for the Rock and Big Show to enter the Rumble to be the top two contenders to win the match. Despite earlier predictions, Tazz is not scheduled to win the match. In fact, the WWF still has not cemented plans for his debut. It could come as early as this Monday night or as late as the Monday night following the Royal Rumble. If he is entered into the Rumble, look for Tazz to eliminate a number of wrestlers in rapid fire fashion before being eliminated himself.
