WCW LIVE RECAP (December 28) by Manny A Things that were discussed: For all those who wanted info on Asya's website, it can be found at (www.christiwolf.com). - Bob commented that the majority of feedback of Nitro was positive. - Discussion about the injuries taking it's toll on the WCW roster. Bob mentioned that before they add anyone else to the nWo, they have to make sure that they have enough opposition. - Rundown of the Souled Out card. Originally, the plan was to have the 1st match of the Triple Threat Theater to be a 30 minute Marathon match. It was changed to a Dungeon match to give the advantage in the 1st match to Chris Benoit. - The creative team will be using the Internet to tease storylines to get people talking and interested in the product. - WCW Live will be on from 10 - 11PM EST on Monday nights after Nitro. It will also be on from 8 to 10PM EST this Thursday because Thunder is pre-empted. - MARK MADDEN joined the show. It is his birthday on Wednesday so he is depressed. He will have a column up on WCW.com about the whole Scott Steiner retirement. (You can read it here). Mark liked Nitro but thought that there were some slow parts which should change with the change to the 2 hour format this week. He also felt that the show suffered without Goldberg there, which became very obvious when Sid was on the mic. He commented that it reminded him why some guys have managers who talk for them. Mark felt that WCW should have explained the reason for the appearance of Standards & Practices on Nitro for the non-Internet fans. - Ric Flair is rumored to be the new WCW commissioner. Madden does not know for sure if it will in fact be him. He said that Ric recently told WCW management that he wants to come back as a heel but Madden does not think that would work because nobody would boo him. - Madden talked about tagging with Chris Jericho (Thrillseekers) in Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Scherer's note: Huh? Lance Storm should be happy to hear this. - Discussion about Buzzkill (Brad Armstrong). Mark and Bob both feel that the gimmick is not getting over. - The ratings are delayed until Wednesday because of the holidays. - There is no update on when the Cat is coming back to WCW. - Madden asked which is the bigger disaster - Y2K or what has happened to Y2J in the WWF? - There were many nWo shirts sold at this past week's Nitro and they should be made available on the net sometime soon. - There is no news on the whereabouts of Blitzkrieg. - 3 COUNT (Shane Helms, Shannon Moore & Evan Karagias) joined the show. Evan says that he is all about entertaining the fans and that is what they are going to do. The response has been great. He feels that girls are a dime a dozen, except this time he wants all of them. Shane has spent many years in the independents and he is happy to be in the big time now. He feels great to be in front of a big crowd and getting the chance to shine. He always felt that if someone from a big company ever saw them, the company would give them a chance and that is what happened. Shannon started out in the backyard with a trampoline and some garden ropes, along with the Hardy Boys. The Hardys took him under their wing and heavily influenced his style. Others included in their group are Joey Abs (WWF) and the Dupp Brothers (ECW). Evan mentioned that the boys have really been down on them because they take all the girls and there is nothing they can do about it. He compared it to big jocks in high school. Bob and Jeremy asked them to sing but they refused. - At this point, we were tortured with Disco Inferno's horrid prerecorded singing once again. - Rick Steiner's thoughts on his brother's false retirement and joining the nWo will be addressed on Nitro this week. - WCW Live guests this week: Terry Taylor on Wednesday, Shane Douglas on Thursday and Bill Banks on Friday. - The show wrapped up.
