Russo facing major heat from WCW Executives and WCW wrestlers
|
Bill Busch has told Vince Russo he has 12 months to try to change the current situation in WCW and turn it around or Russo will face being closely scrutinized. The Torch said that J.J. Dillion has sided with Kevin Sullivan in the booking war and Dillion often questions Russo about many of his tactics during the booking meetings. The Torch even goes as far as to say that Bill Busch regrets even hiring Russo, while other top level WCW execs also seemed to have lost a lot of confidence in Russo. While all this is going on Kevin Sullivan is making a major case for him to be appointed the head booker. Sullivan is saying that he could deliver better ratings without the hassle having to deal with Standards and Practices every week. Sullivan also has Terry Taylor on his side while Kevin Nash seems to be waiting to see which side wins before he chooses a side to be on. Many feel that Bill Busch will need to establish one authority in the company if WCW is going to turn its business around. The Wrestling World Hotline is reporting that there is even more heat on Russo and Ferrera. Apparently many WCW execs feel that it may have been Russo and Ferrera’s fault that Bob Mould quit as they would never give him the chance to share his booking ideas. When Mould did approach Russo and Ferrera about booking idea’s his ideas were often shot down immediately. Mould decided he did not need to take this crap from Russo and Ferrera and also did not want to travel if he was not going to be able to help and quit. Russo is also taking some of the blame for many of the wrestlers being unhappy. It is well known that Nash, Hall, and Flair have been upset with the proposed booking ideas of Russo and thus asked for their releases from the company. Many low card wrestlers are upset that they were promised change and pushes when Russo came in but only a few wrestlers received pushes. Russo is taking heat from both WCW execs and WCW wrestlers which is what probably lead to the 12 month ultimatum that the Torch reported.
