WWF Sunday Night Heat results: 1/9Michael Cole and Kevin Kelly are your commentators for tonight, and just this past Monday night on RAW, a new Champion was crowned in Triple H! Triple H then went to WWF Smackdown! this past Thursday night to defend the WWF belt against Rikishi Phatu, but the outcome didn't come out as well as Triple H may have liked. Rikishi defeated Triple H, but it was as a result of a disqualification.
Non Title Match
Prince Albert vs. Val Venis (c)
Val Venis' music is playing and he is the WWF European Champion and he is headed to the ring. Do we open up Heat every week with Val Venis? Sure seems so. Val Venis is going against Prince Albert in this one on one contest, and the belt isn't on the line! If Prince Albert can defeat Val Venis, you can guarantee that he would get a shot at the European belt in the future. As the match is going on, the fans heavily chant "Shave your back, shave your back!" Val Venis and Prince Albert battle each other in back and forth action and as the match is going on, the Big Bossman makes his way to the ringside area. The fans start chanting "asshole" directed at the Bossman. The Bossman hit Prince Albert with the night stick and Val Venis got the fisherman suplex on Prince Albert to win the match.
Winner, the WWF European Champion, Val Venis
Triple H and Stephanie are shown and someone knocks on the door. It's the Headbangers, and Triple H says that they need a favor from the Headbangers. Triple H mentions Too Cool, and he tells the Headbangers that he needs them taken out. He isn't looking for pinfalls or victories, he just wants them taken out. The Headbangers ask Triple H about Rikishi, and Triple H says that after the beating that he gave Rikishi on Thursday, he isn't here tonight.
A video package is shown for Kurt Angle, and they talk about Kurt's undefeated streak. Steve Blackman has played a part in Kurt Angle being undefeated, and it seems that Steve Blackman is taking orders from a Kurt Angle admirer in Stephanie McMahon. Triple H has other feelings about Kurt Angle, and he made a new years resolution to end the win streak of Kurt Angle. Triple H booked Kurt against The Rock in a one on one match, and Steve Blackman came to the ring and The Rock used the kendo stick on Kurt Angle, and The Rock got himself disqualified. Kurt Angle was still undefeated as a result of that.
Buck Quartermaine vs. Steve Blackman
Steve Blackman is on his way to the ring and he is set for one on one action against Buck Quartermaine. Buck Quartermaine attacks Steve Blackman quickly to start off the contest, and some of you fans out there may not be familiar with Buck Quartermaine. He has been with the WWF for a while, and he has been doing some jobber matches in the past. The question tonight is, will he be continuing his jobbing? Or will he gain a win over the ever so charismatic Steve Blackman? Steve and Buck fight in and out of the ring and Blackman gives Buck a suplex on the outside of the ring as the referee starts the count. Buck starts to get back in the ring only to have Blackman knock him back out of the ring and back to the floor. Buck has troubles getting back into the ring this time around and Steve gets out of the ring and helps him in. Steve Blackman gives Buck a belly to belly suplex and then gives him the pump handle kick to win the match. Steve Blackman mocks Kurt Angle in the ring by celebrating.
Winner - Steve Blackman
The Godfather and his hoes are shown walking in the backstage area, and the Godfather will be going against Gangrel in singles action, tonight. The Godfather is in his locker room and he is getting pumped up to go against Gangrel. The hoes want to do something for the Godfather, and it looks like they want to take care of Luna, since the Godfather is taking care of Gangrel for them. The hoes tell the Godfather that they will make the Godfather proud. Footage from the past couple of weeks is shown when Luna begged the Godfather to be one of his hoes. Gangrel went against the Godfather in a one on one match, and Luna and Gangrel set up the Godfather. She spewed red mist into the face of the Godfather and allowed Gangrel to win a match. Last Sunday, Gangrel continued his assault on the Godfather by victimizing one of the Godfather's hoes with a bloodbath.
The Acolytes are headed to the ring, for some reason! Faarooq requests a mic and he gets on it and says that the New Age Outlaws come out here and tell everyone how scared they are of the Acolytes. Faarooq says that they have a right to be scared, because he doesn't know anyone that isn't. Faarooq talks about how they talk about shaking in their boots and how afraid they are. Faarooq says that's a good thing, because it'll make it much that easier to knock them out of their boots. Bradshaw says that last time they stepped into the ring with the Outlaws, within 30 seconds, they broke the ring and Billy's blood was dripping all over the place. Bradshaw says this isn't about their place in history, this isn't about a wrestling match, nor is it about the tag team belts. Bradshaw says that it's about the Acolytes showing up and beating the living hell out of the Outlaws. Bradshaw says they are going to take the belts, but not until after they destroy the Outlaws. Bradshaw says that if they ain't down with that, they've got two words for them, and that's "Ass Kickin'!"
Plays of the Week
"System of a Down" by Sugar is played while they show the plays of the week. This past Monday night, The Big Show lost the WWF belt to Triple H, Al Snow and Jeff Hardy went against each other in a steel cage match, with Jeff Hardy coming out the winner of that contest. On Smackdown!, Chris Jericho and Chyna teamed up against the Hardcore Hollys only to lose to them. Rikishi Phatu got a shot at the WWF belt when he went against Triple H on Smackdown!, and it was one hell of a match with Rikishi winning the match as a result of a disqualification.
Too Cool vs. the Headbangers
The hoes are shown backstage and it looks like they are headed somewhere with revenge on their mind! Too Cool's music is playing and they are headed to the ring, but this time, it looks like they are coming to the ring without Rikishi Phatu. Too Cool are going against the Headbangers in this tag team contest. The Headbangers wear their goofy outfits as they have been in recent weeks, and the Headbangers attack Too Cool to start off the contest. Scotty Too Hotty gives Thrasher the worm, and Mosh gets in the ring and gives Scotty a cheap shot to gain control of the match. The Headbangers double team Scotty Too Hotty as the fans get behind Too Cool. Scotty Too Hotty tags in Grandmaster Sexay and he gets in the ring and cleans house of the Headbangers. Too Coo give Thrasher the Tennessee Jam for the win! After the match, Mosh attacks Too Cool, and remember what Triple H said, it's not about pins or anything, he wants them to take Too Cool out. The Headbangers give Scotty Too Hotty the stage dive and leave them lying in the ring.
Winners - Too Cool
We take a special look at Triple H's rise to the top. It's a video package, and it shows Triple H and The Rock arguing from this past Monday night. Triple H said that he would go one on one for the WWF Championship with The Big Show. Triple H put The Rock in a Handicap You're Fired Match, and if The Rock didn't win the match, he would be fired. Triple H won the WWF Championship from The Big Show, and he is once again, the man! The Rock took on three members of dX, and he was able to defeat them to keep his job in the WWF. Triple H had a fake Mankind go around and make fun of the real Mankind for fun and games, and those fun and games were over when the real Mankind showed up and beat the hell out of the fake Mankind.
The Godfather vs. Gangrel
Gangrel is backstage and he is yelling for Luna, because they have to go. Gangrel goes into his locker room and he finds Luna tied up! Luna screams to be cut down and tells Gangrel to go get them. The Godfather's music is playing and he is headed to the ring along with his hoes! Gangrel comes to the ring and obviously, he couldn't get Luna out of her situation, because he's coming to the ring alone. The Godfather and Gangrel start this one off in a hurry and the Godfather gets the better end of the stick to start off the contest. As the match is going on, Luna comes to the ringside area and chases the hoes out of the ringside area. Gangrel gains control of the match when the Godfather turns his back to wonder what is going on. Luna chokes the Godfather on the rope behind the referee's back for a brief second. While Gangrel dominates the Godfather, the fans heavily chant "We want Hoes, we want Hoes!" The Godfather goes for the Ho Train but Luna gets in the ring and distracts the Godfather and then spews the red liquid at the Godfather, but he ducks it and it goes into the face of Gangrel, instead. The Godfather gives Gangrel the Ho Train followed by the Pimp Drop for the win.
Winner - The Godfather
